THESE WHEELS ARE IDENTIFIED AS 17" 8 SPOKE MACHINED & PAINTED ALUMINUM WHEEL WHICH BEGAN TO CORRODE AND PEEL AROUND 2011. THEY LEAK AIR AROUND THE CONTACT OF THE RIM AND TIRE BECAUSE OF THE CORROSION. THIS CONDITION REQUIRES HAVING THE WHEEL TAKEN APART AND CORROSION REMOVED THEN REASSEMBLING THE WHEEL AND RE-BALANCING THE TIRE ASSEMBLY BEFORE RE-INSTALLING BACK ON TO CAR. DEPENDING ON SEVERAL CON

I PURCHASED A MOPAR VEHICLE PROTECTION PLAN AS MY FIRST EXTENDED PLAN FROM CHRYSLER FOR A PRE-OWNED 2009 LINCOLN MKS MODEL. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A REPUTABLE LINCOLN-FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A FEW ISSUES RESOLVED. THESE ISSUES ARE: 1) BAD SMELLING FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE AIR IS ON IN ANY MODE SETTING SUCH AS THE WINDSHIELD OR BASE MODE. THE FUMES SMELL SO TOXIC THAT SOMET
... IMES IT RESULTS IN NAUSEA AND HEADACHES. YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF THE AIR AND PUT DOWN ALL THE WINDOWS TO AIR OUT ALL THE FUMES IN THE CAR. THE SMELL COMES AND GOES AND USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR OVER 20-30 MINUTES WITH THE AIR OR HEAT ON. THE DEALER QUICKLY FOUND THE ISSUE AND GAVE ME A DIAGNOSIS. THERE WAS A LEAK AND THEY EVEN SHOWED ME WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. THE LEAK WAS BURNING INTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND CREATED HARMFUL FUMES WHICH WAS GOING INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. I LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WAS NOT HEALTHY TO DRIVE IT, ESPECIALLY SINCE I DID NOT WANT MY FAMILY GOING INTO THE CAR; ESPECIALLY MY NEW BORN AND BEING EXPOSED TO POTENTIAL NAUSEA, HEADACHES OR ANY ILLNESSES. THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS BEFORE AN INSPECTOR CAME OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. 1) THE INSPECTOR FELT IT WAS NOT A SERIOUS LEAK AND THAT HE QUALIFIED IT AS A SEEPAGE AND NOT A LEAK? THIS RAISES A LOT OF QUESTIONS ON THE INSPECTOR SINCE I BELIEVE THAT MOPAR IS PAYING HIM A PERCENTAGE TO KEEP THE REPAIR COSTS DOWN BY REJECTING HONEST CLAIMS 2) THE INSPECTORS CLAIMS RAISES QUESTIONS ON WHETHER OR NOT HE IS TRULY QUALIFIED TO INSPECT THIS VEHICLE. IF HE WAS DOING HIS JOB CORRECTLY HE WOULD HAVE MADE SENSE THAT IF THE VEHICLE IS SEATING (NOT DRIVING), THE GASKET OR SEALS WON'T EXPAND CAUSING THE HEAT TO SHRINK THE SEAL OR GASKET CAUSING THE OIL TO POUR OUT! HELLO, I BOUGHT A 2003 LINCOLN LS AND I'M GETTING A MESSAGE ON THE DASH THAT IS SAYING ETC FAIL SAFETY MODE AND THE CAR IS NOT ABLE TO GO OVER 30 MPH, AND HAS VERY SLOW PICK UP AND IS RUNNING VERY HARD. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRERS THE REPAIR BILL STATES:" THERE WAS A FAILURE OF THE EEC MODULE RESULTING IN THE FAILURE OF THE PCM CRANKS, 6 COIL PACKS" SIX SPARK PLUGS WITH A RESULTING COST OF REPAIRS AT $683.47 FOR THE EEC MODULE (THIS IS THE PART THAT CAUSED THE DESTRUCTION OF THE PCM CRANKS AND SIX COIL PACKS) THE COIL PACKS $999.48 FOR SIX, SPARK PLUGS TOTAL 45.54 FOR SIX, A PLENUM GASKET $14.90 AND $447.50 LABOR COST TO REPAIR VEHICLE. AS AN EMPLOYEE OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY, I GOT A 10% DISCOUNT FOR THE PARTS BRINGING THE TOTAL REPAIR COST TO A TOTAL OF $2190.05 HERE'S MY COMPLAINT. THE EEC FAILED; OK I GET THAT BUT THAT PART FAILURE CAUSED ALL THE REST OF THE PARTS TO BE DESTROYED ADDING THE COST OF THE COIL PACKS, THE GASKET AND ADDITIONAL LABOR COSTS. THE EEC WAS $ 683.47 THE REST SHOULD BE FORD MOTOR COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY AT THE LEAST. FORD MOTOR COMPANY DISTRIBUTED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO THEIR DEALERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM CAN OCCURRED AND I TALKED TO THE MECHANIC THAT REPAIRED MY CAR STATING TO ME THAT HE HAD SEEN THIS PROBLEM IN FUSION CARS AND FORD PICKUP TRUCKS SO THIS ONE DEALER GARAGE TALKING TO ONE MECHANIC THAT HAD SEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES DO THIS.
