I WAS TRAVELING WEST ON 64 ON 8\13\15 . THERE WAS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC BUT I WAS EXPERIENCING NO PROBLEMS UNTIL MY CAR BEGIN TO SWERVE BACK AND FORTH AND I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN THE LANE. WE REALIZED THAT WE MUST GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND INTO THE MEDIAN TO AVOID BEING STRUCK OR STRIKING A CAR IN THE RIGHT LANE. AFTER MUCH EFFORT WE WERE ABLE TO DO SO BUT HIT THE GUARD CABLES WHI
... CH RESULTED IN TOTALING OUR LINCOLN. IN AUG OF 2013 WE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE RACK AND PINION STEERING FOR OUR CAR AND HAD IT REPAIRED ON 3\21\14. WE HAD TO WAIT FOR THE DEALER TO GET THE PARTS. THERE WAS ANOTHER RECALL ON 11\5\14 SAYING THAT CARS WITH THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT REPAIRED DURING THE FIRST RECALL MAY NOT HAVE BEEN DONE CORRECTLY. MY QUESTION IS WHY DID WE NOT RECEIVE THAT RECALL? I FEEL THAT WE DID EVERYTHING WE COULD TO INSURE THAT THE BEST OF CIRCUMSTANCES OCCURRED IN WHAT WAS MOST CERTAIN GOING TO RESULT IN A CRASH AND PREVENTED OTHERS FROM BEING INJURED. IF WE HAD HAD THAT RECALL WE COULD HAVE HAD OURS CHECKED AND POSSIBLY HAVE AVOIDED THIS ACCIDENT.
