NOTE: This has not happened to me yet, but it appears that most Corollas manufactured before 2022 or 2023 have this issue. However I did recently flush the fluid from my clutch system and it was very clearly contaminated, possibly indicating early evidence of a failure. Clutch system, specifically the slave cylinder is faulty on these vehicles. It is a known issue on these cars that the clutch sl
... ave cylinder (inside the transmission) is made out of resin and fails. When the slave cylinder fails, brake fluid from the shared clutch/brake reservoir leaks out onto the clutch and flywheel, damaging them and resulting in an expensive repair. In addition to this, the brake fluid leak results in a "low braking power" message on the dashboard, indicating a problem with the braking system. Obviously this is a safety issue that could cause an accident. This issue has been confirmed by many dealers and the solution is to replace the slave, clutch, and flywheel and flush & refill the brake fluid reservoir. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer as of yet, but in the interest of safety I am considering an early replacement of the cylinder. The only warnings of this issue are a clutch stuck to the floor, and in some cases a "low braking power" warning on the dashboard. A low brake fluid level may also be an indicator of this issue if caught in time. Incident report below is of the clutch flush, showing the contaminated brake fluid from the clutch hydraulic system. It's important to note that flushing the clutch is not a recommended maintenance item at any point on these vehicles as it is expected to be done with the braking system, although that won't remove contaminants from the clutch cylinder.Read more

I’m unable to address recall NHTSA 25V572, Ford program 25S89, a rear camera issue affecting my 2015 Lincoln MKC. The dealership made two attempts ordering parts on backorder to address the recall at my service appointment today. After receiving parts last week, Ford told dealers they do not recommend installing these parts to address the recall—the dealer also said they do not know the proced
... ure or replacement parts Ford will recommend to address the rear view camera recall on a later date. They also believe Ford will now replace the entire camera vs replace components. I have no problem with the approach to replace the camera if that’s the case. And I also realize this is not the dealership’s fault; however, there is a huge disconnect and communication gap from Ford quality that must be addressed. It’s been challenging to order parts for this recall and wait months, only to discover Ford no longer knows how to address a fix my vehicle needs. I appreciate if NHTSA could investigate ongoing issues and delay for this recall. I’m happy to provide more details if necessary. Thank you!Read more

The vehicle exhibits a dangerous electrical defect involving uncontrolled power-cycling. After shutting down the car, it automatically restarts itself in a continuous loop. Most critically, the car autostarts while parked in an enclosed garage. As a
... Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), once the EV battery depletes, the internal combustion engine (ICE) engages automatically. This creates a life-threatening risk of Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning for residents in the connected home. A Honda dealership has professionally diagnosed the cause as a failure of the Body Control Module (BCM). This module failure also causes the anti-theft alarm to trigger uncontrollably and renders the keyless entry system inoperable. This defect turned the vehicle into a life-safety hazard in a residential setting. This vehicle was brought to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership for regularly scheduled maintenance. This car has never overheated. The vehicle was returned to the dealership for inspection. The dealership diagnosed a

The failed component is available for inspection and the vehicle is currently at the dealership. The vehicle has approximately 46,000 miles, has been regularly maintained, garaged, and driven under normal conditions. These symptoms created engine performance issues that could result in loss of power or inability to accelerate while driving, creating a potential safety risk, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. I regularly transport my young grandchild in this vehicle. The possibility of sudden engine failure, loss of power, or breakdown while driving raises significant safety concerns for myself and any passengers, particularly a young child.
