the rubber oil cooler hose busted/exploded on 6/03/2021 on the way home from vacation 2 hours away from home late at night with my 2 children. there were no warning lights etc. all of a sudden it started making this horrible sound, i stopped on side of rode to everything covered in oil. had to get the vehicle towed to home. the engine and all under hood was covered in oil. i see tons and tons of

Something had broken causing oil draining out of the car while driving on the highway. The car lost power and I pulled over immediately and shut off the engine. I opened the hood and saw nothing wrong, however when I checked the oil, there was no oil. I then proceeded to look under the car and there was oil all over the under carriage. I then did a walk around and found oil all over the back side.
... Me and my family were stranded while we waited for a tow truck. We had the tow truck take the RX350 to the local Lexus (Kuni in Denver) dealership where this car has been serviced all its life. When I received the initial call from the service department, He had said he is 99% sure this is the oil cooler pipe. He then said this is a known defect in the design of this part. When I googled "RX350 oil cooler pipe" numerous complaints came back. The initial design is rubber and now they installed one that is metal. This could have been fatal if we had traffic near us. Also this could have major damage to the engine. This should have been recalled however Lexus decided not to and just call it a warranty notice. Even with all the information out there about this highly defective part, the dealership would not cover the cost and told us to directly deal with Lexus. If anyone is reading this, and you have not change out this part, I would get this done! It is not an if this will happen, it is when it will happen. I was informed in January of 2020 of a safety recall pertaining to the low pressure fuel pump in my Lexus NX300. I learned of the recall via CarFax rather than through Lexus. As I continued to drive and service the Lexus NX300, I received conflicting information from Lexus about whether or not my vehicle was impacted by the recall. ... ect. In July of 2021 (at least 18 months after the defect was identified) I finally received notice from Lexus that a remedy is available. Lexus clearly knew of the defect prior to issuing the recall, but waited several months before even directly notifying me of the recall, allowing me to drive a vehicle they had already deemed unsafe for months. It is absurd that a manufacturer would allow unsafe vehicles on the road, jeopardizing human lives, while the manufacturer took their time to find a solution. In the meantime, they released new/refreshed vehicle models. This is a clear example of a car manufacturer placing profits over safety and should be addressed. For the record, I no longer own the vehicle. I decided to get rid of it when I lost faith that Lexus would ever resolve the issue.Read more

When I press on my brakes they make a loud roaring sound right away. Usually when brakes are about to go out its usually a squeaky noise then it will go to loud roaring noise. There has not been an indicator on the dash about any issues with the vehicle. I found it rather odd that the brakes made the roaring noise immediately. It didn't squeak at all. Structure problem. Went to the mechanic for a routine oil change. He said the frame is rotted, rusted away so bad he could stick his finger through the frame. They said it was unsafe, couldn’t even hoist it up on the lift. The body, exterior looks fine, no rust at all, but the frame is evidently rotted away. Faulty metal or treatment??

The hybrid transmission failed at 146k and the light went on. When we took it to the dealership, they said that there was metal bits. The owner of the vehicle when into the dealership asking the dealership to set tire pressures and inspect floor mats for proper installation, they performed an inspection and inflated the tires. ... is on. Oil pump range/performance. NOTE: no road test performed. Possible additional work needed. Transmission oil pump inoperable due to metal in fluid shorting the pump. The dealership took a fluid sample. They had found lots of metal particles present in the fluid. They recommend replacing the transmission, oil pump, cooler, cooler hoses, and clamps, flush the metal lines.Read more

When parking the car at a shopping mall, the car suddenly accelerated and jumped the curb. It finally stopped when it hit a stopped bus. Two teenage passengers were in the vehicle. The driver does not believe the accelerator was pressed enough to cause the vehicle to accelerate in the manner it did.
