HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose keeps getting clogged resulting in the overflow of water into the cabin driver side floor. When using the AC or Defroster this could be a quart of water or more which can result in mold/mildew on carpet and pad. I had the recommended 100,000 mile service done on my car at approx 106,000 miles. At aprox 109,500 miles I checked my oil after noticing my passenger headlight was out and I would be putting a new one in. The entire electrical system seems like there are wires that make a connection, then maybe come loose just barely enough to no longer make a connection. I only had liability on the car- so i am out of luck. but the NYFD inspected. It happened on Wednesday 9/29/21. Was inspected on 9/30.

I believe NHTSA is NOT REPORTING SPECIFICALLY INCIDENTS OF OPENED VEHICLE DOOR COLLISIONS because the specific type of incident is not included in the motor vehicle accident accident reports provided back to NHTSA. I request NHTSA include the following in accident reports OPENED VEHICLE DOOR to be included into my Petition for Rulemaking since non-reporting of opened vehicle door collisions is "grossly under or not reported'. It is my low estimate that in the United States upwards of 500.000 opened vehicle door collisions occur yearly and NHTSA has "just cause" to include these incidents in its reporting systems.Read more

He contacted two other service stations in the area and found one less than a mile away that had a lift open. We added 2 more quarts of oil and drove to the next service station. The mechanic put the vehicle on the lift and quickly found the problem - a pin hole in the oil line. He was able to find a replacement part (not the original part as it had been discontinued) and get us up and running the same day. We were very fortunate that I noticed the smoke - if I had not noticed it and continued to drive (we were 10 minutes from driving over a bridge tunnel) it could have been catastrophic. We finished the 7 additional hours of driving that day and after being gone for a week, have now returned home (another 9 hours). The mechanic told me the part had been recalled, but when I searched this sight, I found lots of similar reports - but no recall. Coincidentally, I had had the oil changed 4 days before beginning this trip. It is surprising that there are so many reports of this incident, but no recall by Lexus.Read more
