The contact exited the vehicle and became aware of an unknown liquid pouring onto the ground underneath the vehicle, with little pieces of debris and sparks igniting underneath the vehicle. While the contact was on the phone with 9-1-1 Emergency Services, there was a popping sound coming from the vehicle and underneath the hood and over the windshield became engulfed in flames. The Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed. The contact sustained severe emotional distress because of the failure but had not sought medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow facility where the vehicle remained. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that the Insurance Company had not yet determined if the vehicle was a total loss. The dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but offered no assistance. I finally tried to restart it and it started fine put it in reverse and it was able to go in reverse and I was able to limp it home. Thank goodness a traffic wasn't too bad I was able to pull over. I took my car to I trusted mechanic and they look through everything and they could not figure out why it was doing that. Not long after I got a postcard in the mail stating that the TCM need to be replaced. I called the number that was on the card and they stated that that particular part was on back order and they would call me. I gave them my information. They never called me back. I tried to go to work again a few days later and the same exact thing. But this time I have video of it. So I took it to my local Suncoast Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram not the place I bought it from but within the same hub. I showed them the video the gentleman there said that he was going to bring it back and the mechanics will work on it. A couple hundred dollars later they stated that they had fixed it and it shouldn't happen again. But it did it happened quite a few times, and it tends to happen when the temperature here in Florida is a little bit chilly. They actually put a sticker on the hood that said that they had fixed it but they have not. I tried to call and get refunded for the TCM but they said I was not able to. JuiceBox could have burnt down my home and may have caused serious damage to my car's electric system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, without a warning light being illuminated the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that stalling failure persisted, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into reverse and was returned to the dealer and was diagnosed with PCM and transmission failure. The dealer related the failure to the previous recall; however, the recall had since expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not covered under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. This model has a dangerous driving problem that is difficult to reproduce; however, it points to a flaw in a coupled design that causes simple infotainment system failures to negatively impact both on-star help system and critical driving system. It begins with simple problem of inability to change FM channel; checking other controls on infotainment screen showed all displays responding correctly, including commands to change station; yet it does not. Only after car has been parked and EV motor turned off for awhile, did this problem reset. This is an indication that previous problem remains unresolved. Previously, on an isolated section of AZ highway without cell service, what began with radio control malfunction ended with this model turning off all speakers and all displays. Once speakers were turned off, on-star interaction can not be heard in the car. I expected separate speakers for on-star emergencies; however, to my surprise it seems to be routed through or related to infotainment system. Then possible stops and attempts to reset the infotainment system through turning off the car, caused all lights to go off on the dash. I had to drive many miles through isolated desert and mountains to reach a safe offramp with no instrumentation. This makes suspect what else could go wrong when in isolated regions. So far the danger seems to be related to driving in no cell service area; however, without further investigation, this design of coupling infotainment system with both critical driving and emergency systems makes this model unreliable and dangerous to everyone in this car. Woke up one morning and the entire back seat, entire truck flooring was soaking wet. Got it to Gerber collision in El Reno, Oklahoma. They said that the back window had a crack in it. My insurance said it is a mechanical issue on the sliding back glass and they do not cover such issue. Also want to turn in that the transmission in this truck had to be replaced two week prior to this incident
