I am reporting a severe, systemic vehicle performance discrepancy on my Lexus TX 500h (2.4L Turbo Hybrid powertrain). The vehicle is officially labeled with an EPA rating of 27 MPG combined. However, under normal, conservative driving conditions, the vehicle routinely achieves only 20 to 21 MPG—a consistent 20%+ shortfall from the manufacturer's certified window sticker metrics. This has drastic
... ally limited the vehicle's safe total driving range to under 300 miles per tank. The shortfall persists despite cautious driving in Eco Mode and after passing the engine break-in period. This issue matches a widespread pattern reported by numerous other owners in consumer forums, pointing to a potential defect in the vehicle’s fuel management software or hybrid battery management logic. I request that NHTSA log this tracking data to investigate whether the manufacturer misrepresented the vehicle's real-world operational capabilities or fuel-system integration.Read more

I am reporting a recurring potential fuel-system/EVAP safety issue with a 2025 Lexus TX 350 (same as Toyota Grand Highlander). On FIVE separate occasions (May, 6/27, July, 8/14, and 9/8/2026), I experienced an overwhelming raw gasoline odor associated with visible vapors coming from the fuel-filler/gas-cap area. Three incidents occurred after refueling; the two most recent occurred WITHOUT recent
... refueling and with less than half tank full. On 8/14, with temps in the 90s and approximately 135 miles to empty, I drove 30–40 miles, idled approximately 45 minutes, then drove another 10 miles. The overwhelming gasoline odor and visible vapors occurred again. On 9/8, at approximately 108°F and with 152 miles to empty, I drove 46 miles, idled 27 minutes, then drove another 10 miles. The overwhelming raw gasoline odor and visible vapors again came from the fuel-filler area. A strong gasoline odor was also present underneath/around the driver's-side rear wheel well, but not around the passenger-side rear wheel. This recurring release of gasoline vapors presents a potential fire and occupant/public safety concern because gasoline vapors are flammable. I have kept the vehicle outside after incidents rather than parking it in an enclosed garage near an ignition source. The vehicle is available for inspection. The vehicle was previously inspected by an authorized Lexus dealer for this same concern, and Lexus Brand Engagement opened a case and technical-assistance ticket. The dealer reported no fuel leak and deemed the vehicle safe to drive but did not reproduce the condition. The vehicle was driven only approximately 3 miles at the dealership under different conditions. The problem has since recurred multiple times. There have been NO warning lights or dashboard messages. The repeated visible vapors and overwhelming raw gasoline odor during normal operation raise concerns about a potentially unsafe fuel/EVAP system malfunction.Read more

I had a trip from Las Vegas to Scottsdale in 110 degree temperature and I live in Las Vegas so these temperatures are normal for this part of the country. Some where along the road a very small pebble hit the air condenser and put a tiny hole in it which leaked out all the Freon. There was not warning light we just ended up with no AC. This issue is happening to 2025 and 2026 models. You google
... Lexus Air Condenser issue and the entries of issues are many. Lexus is not recalling this - saying it is a road hazard. Owners are trying to install mesh to protect the Air Condenser but find it can collect debris or interfere with the safety cameras. I feel there needs to be a recall for safety because driving the highways in the southwest you can go miles with out being a gas station or place to get out of the heat. People with health issues, the elderly and infants cannot be subjected to a long period of time in this kind of heat. Lexus is in full knowledge this is an engineering flaw as they have redesigned the front grill section of the 2027 and it specifically calls out why there is a new design.Read more

Had occupants been in the vehicle when the failure occurred, they would have been trapped with no means of egress (fire, submersion, post-collision, medical emergency, hypothermia/heat stroke risk). The vehicle was stationary and no crash, fire or injury occurred. Prior to the lockouts, the remote start and digital key had stopped working. The lock failure was reported to the Lexus Brand Engagement Center on XXX and the vehicle was serviced at the selling Lexus dealer on XXX, where remote start/digital key failure and a defective battery were logged; the lock defect was not resolved. The vehicle was returned to the dealer on XXX and the dealer provided a repair estimate rather than performing the repair under warranty. The vehicle is under three years old and under 22,000 miles, within the 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty. A written demand for a no-cost repair has been sent to Lexus. The vehicle and Roadside Assistance dispatch records are available for inspection on request. I have a Lexus rcf 2017. There’s a safety recall for a low pressure fuel pump. This recall has come out years later after the car has been bought. I am the 3rd owner. I bought the car in 2026. I bought the car with aftermarket work done on it, but I didn’t think there would be any recalls. The LPFP has wires hooked up to another fuel pump in the trunk for handling performance. With that said,
... Lexus didn’t want to do the recall. I asked all 3 numbers I called if I can just be given the part, and I sign a waiver that I get a 1 time item and Lexus has 0 responsibility for me getting it installed somewhere else. They said no and that’s there’s laws. I don’t get the rules. Why does a Lexus technician have to do the recall by law? If Lexus created a defected part, then they had to opportunity the first time to make the part right. Why should I trust a technician to do right the 2nd time around? Also, if it’s for safety, and if it’s from Lexus, why can’t they just give me the part and I sign a 1 time waiver that’s it’s not Lexus problem? Lexus owes me a part, and now instead of caring about my safety, they want to take 550 bucks from me so I can buy the part they defected and go get it installed elsewhere. It’s crazy. Look, I understand that there’s laws… but this is a late recall. It’s not like the recall happened within the first year of ownership. Lexus should be able to give me the part. It’s selfish to not do so. This isn’t about a law…. It’s right vs wrong. It’s a late recall. Lexus owes me a part. They choose not do it. The recall is way late after some people out there have done stuff to their cars by now. This is straight robbery. So Lexus would rather take more money from me, then worry about my safety. A Lexus technician installing it doesn’t make it safer at all. Technicians mess up all of the time (my car wouldn’t start on another service one time) The law saying on it Lexus technicians can do the remedy… why would I trust them the 2nd time around on stuff?Read more

The rear middle seat child seatbelt retractor on my 2020 Lexus GX 460 failed internally — the belt became stuck and would not retract, rendering the child safety restraint position unusable. Lexus Corporate authorized replacement of the belt assembly (Part #73320-35010-A4) at no cost under an internal goodwill case, which itself indicates recognition that this was a component failure rather than normal wear. 2026 Lexus RX 350h Luxury AWD Hybrid. Component Affected: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V BATTERY, DIGITAL/ELECTRONIC LOCKS I am experiencing a severe and persistent 12V parasitic battery drain on my 2026 Lexus RX 350h. The vehicle's auxiliary 12V battery drains completely to a dead state if left parked and unused for only two to three days. This is an ongoing manufacturing or software defect that prevent
... s the auxiliary battery from maintaining an adequate charge, resulting in routine vehicle failure. Safety Risks and Incidents: This parasitic drain introduces several critical safety hazards: 1. Emergency Entrapment and Lockout Risk: Because this vehicle relies entirely on electronic door latches (e-Latch), a completely depleted 12V battery causes the exterior and interior electronic door release buttons to fail completely. This creates an immediate risk of vehicle entrapment or leaving passengers locked out in dangerous environments if they are unfamiliar with the secondary manual emergency release overrides.Stranding Hazards: The rapid, unpredictable nature of the battery depletion regularly leaves the driver stranded without warning in remote locations, dark parking areas, or during extreme weather conditions.Loss of Connected Safety Features: When the battery voltage drops severely before dying completely, critical connected vehicle safety systems—including automated emergency crash notifications, location tracking, and roadside assistance connectivity—are entirely disabled, presenting a severe risk in an emergency.Despite dealer awareness, battery replacements, and attempts to mitigate the drain, the manufacturer has not yet provided a permanent software or hardware fix to resolve this electrical defect. Yesterday, 8/31/2026 I took a 30 mile trip after fully charging the 12 V battery to 100%. Upon returning, I installed my battery maintainer. The maintainer stated 53% charge. The vehicle was not adequately charging while I drove. Vehicle software is malfunctioning.Read more

I am happy to have anyone come look at my vehicle for inspection. My passenger headlight daytime running light LEDs have changed color and are failing in this sealed unit. I have spoken with a service technician at a body shop, and had my insurance company inspect my headlight as they all believe it is faulty. The daytime running element is a completely off-white yellowed color, while it should on
... ly be cool white LED color. This completely varied color impacts the performance and visibility of my vehicle. This different color and fading output is impacting my vehicle's visibility while on the road, and makes me less visible to other vehicle and pedestrian traffic on any and all roadways. This very problem was reported to a service and body shop repair location, and was inspected by a Lexus dealership at the request of Lexus Brand Engagement for the dealer service to inspect and report on their findings. The dealer determined the headlight would need to be replaced to repair the failing daytime running element. There have been zero warning lamps or messages about this failing headlight component, and this began to appear after the headlight on the driver's side of the vehicle was replaced because of a completely separate accident and subsequent repair. The discoloration and faded output of the daytime running element was the issue with both of these headlights, only noticed when the driver side headlight unit was completely replaced, indicating this error on the passenger side. A service technician told me directly this could be the start of a recall. I have looked online and many other NX and other Toyota-Lexus drivers are experiencing early-onset failure of these headlight components. There was mention of these components overheating and failing. My vehicle is only four years old, and Lexus Brand Engagement has refused to follow up about this failing component. This is not normal for these components to be failing at such an early point of lifetime use.Read more

The display is also used to provide visual information and warnings associated with vehicle safety and driver-assistance systems, including Parking Collision Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Warning. When the screen unexpectedly shuts off, goes black, or reboots, these visual warnings can be interrupted or unavailable on the display during the malfunction. This creates a safety concern because visual information intended to alert the driver to surrounding vehicles or obstacles may not be available when expected. I am reporting the loss/interruption of the visual warnings displayed on the screen; I cannot independently determine whether the underlying sensors themselves continue operating during a screen failure. I am reporting recurring infotainment, display, audio, and related electrical malfunctions with my vehicle that have continued despite multiple visits and repair attempts by an authorized Lexus dealership. The problems began when the vehicle was relatively new and have continued intermittently. While driving, the vehicle's audio system can suddenly cut out completely at different volume levels an
... d without warning. When this occurs, normal audio functions are lost and the system generally does not return to normal operation unless the vehicle/system is restarted. The infotainment/display screen also intermittently shuts off, goes black, and/or repeatedly reboots while the vehicle is being operated. These failures can occur unexpectedly while driving. The sudden loss of the display and repeated rebooting while driving can also create a significant distraction. This is especially concerning at night, when the unexpected change from an illuminated display to a black screen and subsequent reboot can draw the driver's attention away from the road. Multiple speakers have required replacement after becoming inoperative, blown, or distorted.Read more

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, while traveling on the highway with my two toddler-aged children in the vehicle, the temperature gauge entered the red zone and the vehicle automatically reduced power due to overheating. This forced me to navigate a power-reduced vehicle on a highway with minor children — a serious safety hazard. This incident occurred just five days after my vehicle was in the Se

The proximity of this safety incident to that service visit raises significant concerns about whether the August 17 service contributed to or caused the overheating event.Read more

I have tried to get Stevenson Lexus in Lakewood Colorado to replace the head rests , they have not ever had the parts to complete the recall. I have been waiting for over a year. I called Lexus headquarters in Texas and was told that there is a remedy but Stevenson Lexus has never offered that to me.

The contact owns a 2026 Lexus NX 350H. The contact stated that the A/C unit failed to operate during extremely hot weather. A diagnostic test by the dealer determined that there was a hole in the condenser, which caused the refrigerant to leak. The manufacturer declined to help with covering the repair of the vehicle under warranty. The manufacturer attributed the damages to outside debris. Upon f

Incident date: Jan 2, 2026
The vehicle exhibits a severe, load-based mechanical transmission whine strictly during active acceleration. The pitch of the whining sound rises and falls in direct proportion to the engine's RPMs. This vehicle utilizes the Toyota/Lexus 8-speed automatic transmission architecture, which has a well-documented manufacturing flaw involving internal bearing wear, gear misalignment, and fluid starvati
... on.This mechanical defect poses an immediate and severe safety hazard. The continuous internal wear and gear friction create an unpredictable risk of sudden transmission lock-up, unexpected dropping out of gear, or complete engine stalling while operating at high highway speeds. A sudden loss of motive power on a fast-moving highway leaves the driver completely unable to accelerate out of harm's way, creating an imminent risk of a severe rear-end collision or a catastrophic traffic accident. The manufacturer has failed to issue a safety recall for this known powertrain failure."Read more

Despite the severity of the collision, none of the vehicle's airbags deployed, including the driver's frontal airbag and driver's side curtain airbag. I am reporting this because I am concerned that the Supplemental Restraint System may not have operated as designed. I am not in a position to determine whether the impact met Lexus's deployment criteria and am requesting that the non-deployment be reviewed as a potential vehicle safety issue. The vehicle currently remains available in salvage custody. The insurance company has been asked to preserve the vehicle so that the Event Data Recorder and/or airbag control module can be examined if necessary. The Lexus NX 350 has developed a very strong odor coming from the ventilation system. The smell is consistent with standing water, stale moisture, and/or mold. This is a significant health and safety concern, as I am worried there may be standing water or mold, potentially including black mold, within the HVAC/ventilation system. If mold or contaminated moisture is present, it could potentially b
... e circulated throughout the vehicle and contribute to respiratory irritation or allergy symptoms. I brought this concern to the dealership’s attention during a routine service visit. The cabin air filter was replaced, but this did not resolve the odor or the underlying issue. The ventilation system and potential sources of moisture have not been adequately investigated or resolved, however online review do note this is a common issue with this model. Other than routine maintenance performed by the dealership, the vehicle has not been inspected or serviced elsewhere, and I have not experienced any other issues with the vehicle. I am requesting a thorough inspection of the HVAC/ventilation system and any potential sources of water intrusion or moisture to determine the cause of the odor and ensure the vehicle is safe to operate. I am very conserned with a silent health issue, lightly brished off that may lead to lung issues ond other respitory concerns. Please take this matter seriously.Read more
