Engine seizes while driving and chokes due to engine misfire. First occurence was at 34kmiles in 9/2023 and when brought for emissions check mechanic said needed new spark plugs/coil so had them replaced for $800. 3-4months later after only 1k miles check engine light goes on again and car hums/rattles like it will stall. My brother runs diagnosis and same issue and that’s when I started to do r
... esearch and found that Lincoln MKC 2019 have known engine issues. As it was under warranty until dec 2024, I brought to Steven’s Ford in Milford CT and raised this engine issue and specifically asked for full repair to ensure issue is fixed. 18 months later on 11/12/2025, while driving car the engine starts to hum and rattle feel like it will seize and check engine light goes on again. Same issue from when I had repair under warranty but Lincoln dealer claims it’s a parts issue and not an engine issue. These vehicles are dangerous and can cause accident due to engine just stopping. Dealership and Lincoln refuse to provide any support.Read more

On February/12/2026 I was slowing down normally in a 25mph zone to stop at a red light and just before the moment that my vehicle actually came to a stop I heard a loud breaking sound coming from the front and I felt my vehicle's nose dip down on the passenger side. It was obvious that something major broke so I did not proceed or attempt to drive from that point. I turned on my 4 way flashers and
... a few angry drivers at the same light expressed their displeasure with me for not proceeding when the light turned green by using finger signals as they drove around me. One passerby in the lane to my right told me that my wheel had come off! The police showed up a few minutes later and they called for a recovery truck. While waiting for the tow truck my husband arrived and he looked at the damage. The damage was an obvious failure of a major suspension / steering component as you could see that the top part of the steering knuckle had broken away from the suspension and the tire was laying out at a 45+ degree angle. Also while waiting for the tow truck I looked up to see if there are any recalls on my vehicle was horrified to learn that there is a major recall for the steering knuckle on my car. I have not received a recall letter or a notification about this serious safety issue which is almost as scary as the thought of this failure happening at highway speeds! After dragging my vehicle on to the flatbed I had the driver tow my vehicle directly to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle when new. >Front passenger steering knuckle break away failure. My vehicle is not repaired at this time so it is available for inspection at the dealership of origin. >Everyone on the road including myself was at risk if this failure happened at normal highway speed because my car would have been uncontrollable! >Has not been inspected at this time as this just happened. >There were no symptoms, drive-ability issues, or warning lights or any indication until the moment of failure!Read more

On multiple occasions the alert for either the forward or rear collision warning system will sound with nothing either in front of or behind the vehicle. In these cases, the car automatically braked and brought the car to a stop in the middle of my driving. The component is not available for inspection. This puts myself and others at risk by completely overriding my ability to control the vehic

It is also a safety hazard because I have been forced to turn off the automatic braking for both the front and rear collision warning systems. Two of the same faults occurred within the same month of each other. The first: while driving home from work on the highway, while heavily raining, without warning every alarm light possible engaged, windshield wipers went full speed, vehicle would not shift, and my steering locked up (not to be confused with lost power steering). After about a mile I was able to encourage the Jeep off the side

I was unable to turn the vehicle off as it would not respond, in addition to an alarm warning saying not to turn off the Jeep. The second occurrence was in the parking garage at work; I pulled through the parking stall, put the Jeep in reverse to back up and the same fault took place. No steering, wipers on full speed, every alarm on the dash was engaged. Thankfully I was not a highway speed. I was able to turn off the Jeep this time after about 5 minutes of attempting to.Read more

My 2024 Toyota Tundra imax hybrid started off with a knocking sound. I took it into a certified Toyota dealership to have it inspected. ... e, a couple of times later after diving the Tundra, it had a power issue when pushing the gas to accelerate. I then reached out to Toyota once again and took it back to be serviced. They told me that they test drove my truck and had no issues with acceleration. So I went and picked it up. Just a couple days after receiving my truck back, I was at an intersection with the blinking turn signal and attempted to take off when the truck completely stalled out. I had two cars almost crash into me, but barely missed! I started the truck back and went directly home. I then told Toyota about the situation and they told me to bring it back in. It then stalled again when I was taking it to the dealership. Once I got it back to the dealership and told them what happened, they said they would look into it. After they had it the first few days I never heard anything back, so I called to see what was going on with my truck. They told me that they were waiting to hear back from corporate Toyota for further directions from TAS. My truck then sat there for a few weeks. I kept reaching out to see what was going on and all they kept telling me is that they were working on it, and that they test drove the truck, but couldn’t get it to stall. I had the Toyota app on my phone, showing the mileage, and the mileage had never moved. Letting me know that they hadn’t actually test drove it. So after all of this, they never did any work on my truck. I was now scared to drive it, and honestly didn’t want it back.Read more

My 2024 Chevrolet Trax which has 51,000 miles on it recently developed what appear to be a low end engine knock. This was accompanied by an increased vibration and shakiness in the car. While trying to bring the car to the dealer for inspection in preparation for a incoming snow storm the vehicle which at the time was parked on a hill seemed sluggish and struggling move forward. I felt with road c
... onditions and the noise becoming louder and accelerating as the vehicle accelerates that the safer option was to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. This car despite having 51,000 miles with more than 85% of those being highway travel, has been regularly maintained above what the manufacturer recommends. Ive since learned through others who own the same vehicle that around the same mileage they have had the exact same issue with a few having an official diagnosis of failed rod bearing requiring a full engine replacement. Many of these incidents including mine did not prompt any warning light on the dashboard. Upon here that I came across multiple complaints of individuals Chevrolet Trax with the 1.2l engine completely throwing rods some while driving at highways speeds, and even after engine replacements some report they replacement engine did the same thing. Some of these reports date back to as early as 2020 with this engine being used in the Trailblazer. Its a matter of time before this blatant issue causes engine failure at high speeds and resulting in a accident with injuries or fatalities, not including the financial issues this has on anyone buying a marketed “”affordable” vehicle if this happens outside of warranty. GM must already be aware of this issue yet it continues to persist especially on the back of ongoing lawsuits over their engines excessive oil consumption and failures. My dealer has now had the car for two days and has failed to call me or return mall calls on my vehicles issue. Im assuming based on others situation it is another case of bad bearings.Read more

I was driving my vehicle when suddenly I got a "electrical fault has been detected Pull over Safely" error message. At that time the everything is still running and working. I pulled over safely and shut off the car. I restarted it and it said "low battery, start engine". It was really cold and I imagine as the car kept running, that will recharge the battery. I continued to drive (cautiously on l
... ocal streets) and about 20 mins later, certain electrical features like lane assist and traction control was not available. A few minutes later, more and more systems were being turned off. Eventually, the car's engine died and there was no electric power to the car. I lost steering and brakes. Everything in the car was electronically controlled. The car rolled to a stop but I was not even able to use my hazard lights. Luckily, it was during the day and I was able to roll to a stop and call for help. This is a safety concern if my engine stopped and I was in the middle lane of a highway. I'm unable to steer, brake, or show signs that I'm in trouble to those behind me. The car was eventually towed to a Land Rover dealer and the service rep said I would need my 48V to 12V DC to DC converter replaced. She has at least 10 other vehicles with this issue. The way the car is designed, when the engine is running, it's powering a 48v battery. The 48v battery then converts the electricity to 12v for all the components of the car. In my case, when the engine was running, it was not able to recharge the 12v battery at all. In a vehicle where EVERYTHING is controlled electronically (even the door handles), there should be a failsafe so the 12v battery can be charged when the engine is running but the DC to DC converter doesn't work. This is a serious safety concern if this happened I needed to avoid hitting pedestrians. The horn won't work and I can't roll my window down to yell.Read more

On November 18, 2025, I was driving a 2025 BMW i4 eDrive, VIN [VIN], at approximately 10–15 mph in slow traffic. I applied the brake pedal firmly when the vehicle in front of me slowed, but the vehicle did not decelerate as expected. The vehicle continued moving forward, resulting in a rear-end collision with the car in front of me, which in turn struck another vehicle. Prior to this incident,
... the vehicle occasionally exhibited brief reductions in forward drive power that were subtle and initially attributed to drive mode (e.g., comfort/eco or battery status). At the time of the incident, the vehicle was subject to Safety Recall 25V-395, but I had not received any recall notification prior to reporting the incident to BMW. This appears to be a potential vehicle safety defect involving braking performance or interaction of propulsion and braking systems, as the vehicle did not stop when brake input was applied under normal conditions. I am reporting this to NHTSA for investigation of a possible safety defect. I own a 2018 Ford Edge SEL 2.0L EcoBoost (VIN: [XXX] ). On August 24, 2021, with approximately 72,062 miles, the vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership due to engine performance issues. The dealership diagnosed coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders. The dealership determined the engine was not repairable and required full engine replacement. The repair invoice explicitly states coolant pres

The vehicle was properly maintained, and I have oil change and service records from that period. No warning or misuse contributed to the failure. I later contacted Ford Motor Company to request reimbursement, as this failure appears consistent with the widely reported 2.0L EcoBoost coolant intrusion defect affecting similar Ford vehicles. Ford declined assistance, citing mileage and timing, and stated no active recall applied. ... ators. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. The engine condition poses a serious safety risk. An independent mechanic advised that the rod bearing issue presents a fire hazard and stated the vehicle should not be driven due to the risk of engine failure, fire, loss of life, loss of power while driving. A sudden engine failure or fire could endanger the driver, passengers, and other motorists. Yes. The Hyundai dealership documented secondary engine damage but failed to perform the required open-engine rod bearing clearance test despite recall-related symptoms. An independent mechanic confirmed the issue is consistent with rod bearing failure and advised that the vehicle is unsafe to drive. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership and reviewed by Hyundai corporate. Hyundai corporate relied solely on the dealership’s incomplete inspection and denied further investigation or goodwill repair. The vehicle has also been inspected by an independent mechanic who identified the rod bearing issue as a safety hazard. Yes. Prior to the failure, the vehicle experienced a flashing check engine light and stored diagnostic code P1326. The engine produced knocking noises and showed signs of internal metal debris and secondary damages. The absence of early warning indicators prevented earlier detection. However, the extent of internal metal debris and secondary component damage demonstrates a progressive engine failure consistent with known rod bearing defects, rather than a sudden event after the warranty threshold.Read more

While stopped in traffic with the vehicle’s automatic engine start-stop feature engaged, the vehicle failed to respond when the accelerator was pressed. The engine had shut off normally due to the start-stop system, but when attempting to move again, the vehicle did not accelerate and appeared temporarily disabled. A “Gearbox fault detected” warning message was displayed. In other occurrence
... s, a “Charging system fault detected” warning appeared immediately after restart. The vehicle required an ignition cycle (turning the vehicle off and back on) to regain normal operation. This condition has occurred on multiple occasions over the past year, including recently, and is intermittent and difficult to reproduce on demand. This condition creates a safety risk because the vehicle can become temporarily immobilized in active traffic, including at stoplights and intersections, leaving the driver unable to proceed as expected. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by authorized Land Rover dealers for related electrical and charging system issues. Components such as the battery have previously been replaced, but the condition has continued to occur. At this time, the issue has not been consistently reproduced by the dealer. Warning messages associated with the incidents include “Gearbox fault detected” and “Charging system fault detected.” These warnings typically appear during or immediately after an automatic engine restart event. The vehicle remains available for inspection.Read more

While driving my Nissan Altima 2018 on Sunday 2-1 the indicator light came on. I looked it up in the manual to the car and it stated it was something with the air bag. I took it to the Larry Miller Nissan Mesa AZ. Wednesday, 2-4. According to them I was told the light indicated the air bag would not deployed if I were in an accident. That is life threating. This is report I got from them: They
... checked for codes found code B0020-13 store din air bag followed the diagnosis procedure as per the ESM to inspect the air bag seta harness to be okay connected first step is to replace the LH side air bag module as per the DTC. They told me it would cost $3,247.44 to fix. I know there was a recall on the air bag for my make and model but unknown to me when it was posted. My car have always ran like a new vehicle to this day until this happen. It should be considered a manufacture issue and should be repaired by the manufacture.Read more

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 8:43 a.m., while driving on Highway 3 in Alvin, TX, the panoramic sunroof glass on my vehicle suddenly and violently exploded/shattered without any warning. At the time of the incident, no other vehicles were around me, and there was no impact from debris, rocks, or any external object. Thank god my kids had just been dropped off at school or this would be a
... whole different situation. The explosion was extremely loud and occurred spontaneously while the vehicle was in motion. My husband was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. The sudden failure created an immediate safety hazard due to the risk of flying glass, distraction, and potential loss of vehicle control. My husband immediately looked around to note if someone threw something or if construction vehicles were around. It was a very slow quiet morning! Nothing was inside the car where the hole in sunroof appeared! There was no prior damage, no weather-related event, and no indication of stress or cracking before the glass failure occurred. After the incident, I researched this issue and discovered multiple reports from other Infiniti QX60 owners describing nearly identical panoramic sunroof glass failures, often referred to as the glass “exploding” or shattering outward while driving, and frequently without any impact or external cause. These reports include vehicles from 2022 and nearby model years, suggesting a recurring and known issue. Although there is currently no recall issued for this defect, the number and consistency of complaints indicate a potential manufacturing, material, or installation defect in the panoramic sunroof glass. I am submitting this complaint to formally document the incident and request that NHTSA investigate this serious safety concern, as spontaneous sunroof glass failure poses a clear risk to vehicle occupants. I am still a week later working with insurance to get this fixed. Costing me money and a vehicle I can’t drive!Read more

While driving at highway speed, I accidentally brushed one of the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. This immediately forced the transmission into a lower gear, causing the engine to rev very high. I had to pull over on the highway shoulder to figure out how to return the vehicle to normal automatic Drive. This situation felt unsafe and distracting, especially in traffic. I contacted my local
... Jeep service department to ask whether the paddle shifters can be disabled or if there is a software setting to prevent accidental engagement. I was told there is no way to disable this feature. Given how easy it is to trigger unintentionally, I’m concerned this could lead to unsafe situations for other drivers as well.Read more

I purchased this van from a used car lot in December of 2025. After driving it for a little over 2 weeks the check engine light came on. My mechanic did a computer check on it and it showed that the transmission is bad. Apparently, through much investigation work on my part, the warranty I paid for on the vehicle is “void” because the dealer that I purchased it from was well aware that it nee
... ded a transmission! They reset the computer according to what I was able to find out, and then sold it to me. It’s a 2019 model and for the transmission to be in need of replacement already, I’m questioning why! I’m surprised that no other owners have evidently had this issue. Please let me know if there have been other owners that have experienced transmission issues in this van. Thank YouRead more

Before I managed to pull over in a safe location the steering became very heavy and the brake pedal got very hard and barely stopped the vehicle ( almost had a collision) and steering into the parking lot was extremely difficult.Read more
