THE 2018 MODEL HAS A SIGNIFICANT THROTTLE DELAY WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR FROM A STOP, RESULTING IN DELAY IN MOVEMENT AFTER PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING ONTO BUSY ROADS AND WHEN ACCELERATING AT STOP SIGNS, AS IT TAKES 1-2 SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR REGISTERS THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAS BEEN DEPRESSED, AND THEN JOLTS FORWARD AT A HIGH SPEED TO "CATCH UP".

TWO LAND ROVER DEALERS (WEST CHESTER PA AND WAYNE PA) HAVE CONFIRMED THAT NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT AND HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING SOLUTIONS FOR MONTHS. THE SERVICE MANAGER IN WEST CHESTER PA CONFIRMED THAT ONE OF THEIR SERVICE TECHNICIANS, WHEN TESTING THIS ISSUE, WAS ALMOST HIT BY A MOVING CAR IN FRONT OF THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CAR HE WAS DRIVING DID NOT REACT SOON ENOUGH AFTER HE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. THE WAYNE PA SERVICE DEPT CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS 0.8 SECOND THROTTLE DELAY WHEN TESTING ANOTHER CAR (NOT MINE). THE OIL LEVEL WARNING SYSTEM NEVER ALERTED. THE OIL PRESSURE LEVEL INDICATOR REMAINED NORMAL. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF THIS SIMILAR SITUATION ON LR4. IT'S NOW 5 YEARS SINCE I'VE PURCHASED MY VEHICLE (NEW) AND WITHIN THAT TIME THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED WITHIN 3 YEARS THEN BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT CALIPERS HAD TO BE REPLACED WITHIN 4 YEARS (PROBLEMS THAT I THOUGHT COULD/WOULD OCCUR AT LEAST AFTER 50,000 MILES). CURRENTLY, MY CAR HAS 42,634 MILES ON IT (ROUGHLY 8,500 MILES A YEAR DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK). MY CAR HISTORY WILL SHOW THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY SEVERE ACCIDENTS OR IN ANY INCIDENT THAT WOULD RESULT IN THE AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARING. TAKATA RECALL UPON TURNING MY CAR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT HAS APPEARED. I'M AWARE THAT WHEN THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER SITS IN THE FRONT SEATS OF THE VEHICLE A SEAT BELT REMINDER SENSOR APPEARS. THIS SENSOR TRIGGERS A WARNING LIGHT AND AN AUDIBLE CHIME TO REMIND THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER TO FASTEN THEIR SEAT BELT. HOWEVER, MY CAR ONLY REMINDS/CHIMES FOR THE D

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WITH MY BABY IN THE BACK SEAT. I GOT TO A RED LIGHT, TURNED GREEN I GO, GET UP TO 40MPH, CAR CUTS OUT (COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER). THE PERSON BEHIND ME SWIRVES OFF THE ROAD TO MISS ME. I AM STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF HWY 17 (VERY BUSY) THE ROAD FOR 5 MINUTES TRYING TO REATART. MY ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON. I GET THE CAR TO START I IMMEDIATELY TURN AROUND TO GET MY CAR AND MY BABY HOME.

I TOOK IT TO LAND ROVER IN WILMINGTON NC THEY ARE SAYING IT IS THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING CONTROL SOLENOID. THE MECHANIC RYAN TOLD ME THAT THIS HAPPENS A FEW TIMES A YEAR, AND HE HAS WORKED ON MANY WITH THE SAME ISSUE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE REVVED UP, ALMOST GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT, HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKE IN ORDER TO KEEP IT FROM TAKING OFF, IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL, ENGINE CONTINUED RACING WHILE IN NUETRAL.
