Vehicle is experiencing the same malfunction as was recalled on 2019 and 2020 Range Rover Evoque's for "excessive engine cooling fan noise in the passenger compartment and eventual degradation of the engine cooling system performance." After several minutes of operation, the engine cooling fan begins running at an abnormally loud volume and despite adequate engine temperature levels, does not sto
... p running until operation of the vehicle has ceased. After much research regarding this issue I have found it to be apparent in several Jaguar and Land Rover vehicle models apart from the 2019 and 2020 Range Rover Evoque. One such consumer stated the fan spun in such excess that it dislodged and powered through the front hood of the vehicle which could have resulted in serious bodily harm. The problem has been reproduced with a service technician and is awaiting inspection by Jaguar Land Rover in Honolulu who have acknowledged by telephone that this is a known issue. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. No warning lamps or sensors have indicated a malfunction of any sort, at any time. I been having a fuel smell from under my 2011 LR4 for several months, which is now severe fuel leaking from the fuel tank, and no warning lights. I have contacted Land Rover to report because of the recall campaign, and was told that nothing can be cover under recall until notified or vin appears on recall. I have waiting for recall letters to be send out, don’t want to pay for repair and then

Driving along the road with no cars around, the windshield made a loud noise and a crack was formed coming from the passenger side A-pillar. The crack of course grew over time. No rock chip. Clearly a defective windshield. The dealer would not replace it under warranty even though it clearly started where a rock could not have chipped it..

The passenger A-Pillar on the vehicle is not secure tight enough to the vehicle or the windshield allowing air to pass underneath the weather stripping that lies on the windshield. When driving at highway speeds this allows the air turbulence to create a flapping or tapping noise on the windshield caused by the weather strpping.

My front windshield cracked to the point of requiring replacement with neither notice nor reasonable cause (no impact, no crack starting point, besides the bottom edge, no temperature gradients, no pressure applied to the windshield).

The windshield seal has failed causing leakage and fogged glass in humid or wet weather. This impedes the sight of the driver when glass suddenly is not clear. This has been confirmed by the land Rover dealership and LOTS of people online as a known issue. The issue has also been inspected by insurance. Failed seal was first noticed by the dealership 6/2021. It progressively is getting worse. Ther

I purchased a used 2017 Disco sport last July in great condition. After one year of driving it, and reaching a total of 70k miles, the camshaft intake actuator broke off, separating from the car. Clearly highlighting a textbook NHTSA “critical safety defect”. I only noticed the issue due to the check engine light and an engine fluttering noise. My local LR technician openly confirmed with me t
... hat this routinely happens with the 2015-2017 discovery sport and other Evoque models, as reported in LR’s technical bulletin (LTB00916NAS5 - Intake Camshaft Variable Cam Timing Actuator - Component Failure). In order to to fix this part I was been quoted $2362.00, and was told the part is essentially the same and could likely break again, putting myself and passengers at serious risk. When I told Land Rover’s customer service center of the issue they said they are not responsible since the warranty only cover the first 50k miles. Since this has been acknowledged by Land Rover as a common component failure, which has led to the part being on back order, it warrants LR to submit a formal recall on the part. Fixing it should also be free of charge. I feel it is unethical and irresponsible to Land Rover’s customers, to expect them to pay for an engineering failure both with their wallet and potentially their lives.Read more

The vehicle has a transmission problem. The vehicle will shut off at a stop and will come out of gear. I have been sitting at a traffic light and when the light turns green the car will not move (it goes back into neutral). The car has been back to the manufacturer 3 times now (this time they have had the car 22 days and it is still not repaired). No warning lights have come on before the incident, however the check engine light will appear after the car fails to go into gear.Read more

My windshield cracked with no apparent strike with under 5K miles on the vehicle. Researching this, LOTS of people experience broken windshields on Defenders and Land Rover products. In about Feb 2017, we purchased this vehicle, a 2012 Range Rover Evoque (5 door), from a GMC dealership; it was previously owned. When purchased, an exhaust smell was noticed inside of the vehicle and the vehicle was returned to the dealership for service and inspection into the cause of the odor. It was ultimately transferred to a Land Rover dealership in Scottsdale, Arizona (Land Rover North S
... cottsdale 18100 N Scottsdale Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85054) where they determined the turbo charger had a crack in the manifold. It was replaced. About one and a half years later, this smell returned and I contacted the dealership about it. I was told their repair warranty was only for one year and they would not repair it. Researching these turbo chargers on my own, I discovered they are commonly failing and people have experienced similar issues with the turbo and exhaust smell. This time, the exhaust odor seems to only last a short time when first starting the vehicle from a cold start, leading me to believe the crack in the manifold is small and seals itself after the manifold heats up and the metal expands. It is an expensive fix to have a dealership do the repairs, over $4000 at last estimate so I haven't made the repairs since it's probably close to what the vehicle is now worth. In researching the turbo, the OEM turbo manifold looks to be made of stainless steel but it is thin looking. Some aftermarket turbos I have found have cast iron manifolds which I may purchase and take on the repairs my self at this point.Read more

I have received many faults since owning this car (purchased: 10/19/2019); child safety-restraint fault, gear-box failure, turn signal in-operable intermittently Occurred approx. 11/2/2019 - The failure in turn signals intermittently almost resulted in a collision with someone speeding down the turning lane as I was merging over, the other drivers speed required him to travel into oncoming lanes
... to safely get around me without collision. Taken to Land Rover servicing center and in their possession from approx. 11/2/19 - 2/3/2020 - after having the car back for 9 days started to receiving the same fault messages, was taken back to Land Rover and in their possession from 2/13/2020 - 4/21/2020 Occurred approx. 6/1 - car completely lost acceleration on the freeway with a "gear box" fault message and was unable to accelerate in the middle of construction with reduced/split lanes with very few safe pull out areas for emergencies leading to impeding traffic due to no acceleration, using the quickly decelerating speed I had to get to an area I could pull far enough off of the freeway. After pulling off the side of the road and restarting the car in attempt to get to a exit ramp or safer location, I was presented with the same fault message and the car would not accelerate. Car had to be towed from location to Land Rover servicing center on 6/1/2021 - current. Vehicle has been inspected by Land Rover service department for extensive periods of time on several occasions, each time I am told they are unable to replicate the issue to find the problem therefore are unable to resolve the electrical faults that are risking my safety and other drivers. Each time the car is returned to me, similar electrical faults have appeared with no resolution. No insurance/police reports as physical damage/accidents. Can provide documentation of incidents and prior logs at a later time/upon request. Do not currently have access to a scanner. Car is available upon request for inspectionRead more
