In December 2020, this vehicle had been parked for approximately 30 minutes; after starting the vehicle, the "Power Steering Electronic Assist" light came on; there was no power steering available and it was almost impossible to steer the car. The car was towed to the Land Rover dealer; after 2-3 weeks, the repair was completed. They had to replace a wiring harness to the electronic power steeri
... ng. We were never told why the harness failed. On November 15, 2021, the same issue occurred. The car had been parked for about an hour. Upon starting, the "Power Steering Electronic Assist" light came on again. Again, it was almost impossible to steer the car. Again, it was towed to the Land Rover dealer. Today, November 19, 2021 I was shown the problem with the wiring harness. Apparently, mice had chewed through the plastic wiring harness conduit and then into six wires of the harness itself. Since damage wasn't as bad as it was the previous year, the service department was able to splice wires back together to make the vehicle drivable again. This vehicle is parked outside in a parking lot 24*7, 365 days per year. There is no garage available. While we were lucky that the failure occurred when the vehicle was parked, we shutter to wonder what would have happened if the power steering had failed on the open highway traveling 70 MPH, or even in town at slower speeds. It is almost physically impossible to turn the wheels without power steering. I believe Land Rover should come up with a beefier wiring harness that is less subject to failure because of mice or other rodents who may chew on the wiring. I am submitting this although I am not the vehicle's owner. I am his son-in-law. He decided to sell the vehicle immediately after the second incident due to the unreliability of the vehicle.Read more

The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving and she had stopped driving the vehicle. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that they would assist with towing the vehicle to the dealer for recall repair once the parts were available. The contact contacted the manufacturer a second time and was informed that she would be responsible for the towing expenses. The vehicle was not repaired. My vehicle had been at the Land Rover South Bay Service department from 11/3/21 to 11/10/21 because the suspension fault indicator had come on the prior week and the air suspension had temporarily failed. The vehicle came to a rapid, abrupt stop and the closest vehicle in front of us was at least 20 yards ahead. There were no obstacles in the road. Luckily, there was no vehicle following me or we would have been rear-ended. There was a red hazard signal with a red exclamation mark that appeared on the display near the speedometer and an audible alarm sounded. I immediately brought the vehicle back to the Land Rover Service department and they did a "scan". They informed me that they did not detect any faults or any history of a problem. I love this vehicle but I am now obviously concerned about driving it. I informed the dealership that if this happens again I will return the vehicle and request a refund.Read more

I have a 2017 Land Rover Discovery with multiple episodes of significant water leakage problems due to a known windshield seal issue on the model as identified by the dealer. During the warranty the windshield and seal were replaced and would then fail twice, on the 2nd occurrence I instructed to the dealer to notate my account with concerns about electrical issues due to the amount of water that
... entered the dashboard, center console, and overhead electrical. Reviewing my own service records I can see electrical problems occurred on the vehicle with notes to "let it dry out". The final time this happened was just outside of manufacturer's warranty still within the CPO period, we were told it was no longer covered even though this has never been solved. Dealer stated they've never seen this much water come in, we have significant staining and electrical concerns for which LRNA show no concern or remorse. I am uncomfortable being put in a position to sell this car knowing what happened and the potential repair costs (10k+ for significant electrical work) plus the safety concerns of failure. My car has been at the dealer for almost 20 days now with no loaner and no activity on my case. I have spoken to my case worker only twice, once when I opened it and once when she finally answered one of my calls 10 days later. I call every day to ask for updates, the dealer reaches out on my behalf and still no progress has been made. No loaners have been offered, 10 days in I was told I would need to wait another 10 days, plus the dealer indicated at least 3 days to order the windshield (at least 23 days total at the dealership). I believe water entering a vehicle like it did and coming into contact with electrical systems poses a significant threat to the operability and safety of the vehicle with LRNA showing no regard for the situation, happily letting myself or someone else get "stuck" with this problem and the potential failure assocaited with it.Read more

The lock actuators in my vehicle (except for the driver door and tailgate) have all failed. It started when my 2016 Land Rover was at approximately 118,000 miles, with the rear driver side door failing first. Then in the last 30 days, the rear passenger side door and the front passenger side door fail to lock or get stuck locked. This causes several safety hazards to include the inability to egres

There have been no warning lamps, messages, or other indicators of the issue prior to the failure, the locks just progressively stopped working. I haven't yet had the component inspected by anyone, but I am upset that my safety has been put in danger by these faulty systems and that I will now have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket to get it fixed. It must be a frequent problem with these systems because some how three out of the five locks on my vehicle all went out over the course of two months on a relatively low mileage vehicle.Read more

This vehicle should be considered as a "drive at your own risk" vehicle. Engine randomly fails to start using push button start in coordination with pressing on the brake pedal. Dash and gages indicated all electrical systems were on and no warning symbols were displayed. Repeated attempts by owner to start vehicle failed. Attempts using remote start app erroneously indicated that the vehicle was
... already in operation. Fail-to-start generally existed for 2-4 hours before the vehicle would randomly start. Failure to start and stranding owner repeated 4 times over the next 8 days, including while the vehicle was in service shop of Dealer. Dealer service could not identify source of the problem and produced records that the safety recall for the battery ground stud issue had already been performed. Dealer service records (attached) recommended against driving vehicle due to "what seems to be intermittent high speed power train communications fault". Owner has requested Dealer By Back due to this repetitive and unresolved safety problem. Refusal from Land Rover to buy the vehicle back places this consumer safety issue back into owners hands which triggered the moral obligation to submit this information to the NHTSA as a safety problem.Read more
