Coolant leaks into the engine of my 2013 Ford Escape. This trips the coolant warning light on the instrument panel, prompting me to refill the coolant reservoir. I travel with a container of coolant and have so far been able to avoid fire or engine failure. But coolant leaking into the engine is an obvious, ongoing safety issue. The problem has been occurring for at least two years. I've taken th
... e vehicle to two mechanics, who both have run pressure tests on the coolant system, have ruled out hose failures or other external causes of coolant loss and diagnosed the problem as coolant leaking into the engine. One of them said it is due to an engine design defect. I filed a complaint with Ford on June 2, 2023. The Ford representative I spoke with said there are no recalls on the vehicle and company has made no comment on the complaint. The case number is 43147023. This is a known problem with Ford's 1.6L EcoBoost engine which powers this vehicle.Read more

I have contacted Honda Corp to be told the same that the car does not update through my phone. Hondalink has a locator and engine updates were applied to my car at 8pm on Friday night in my driveway. Three lights appeared on the dashboard…code C1391. This has affected the braking system, and the traction control…and the brakes no longer regenerate the battery. The mechanic said “YOU MUST NOT DRIVE THIS CAR” until a $2,700 repair is made. There was, apparently, a service bulletin sent out in 2019, and was then extended until 2022…which we did not receive, although we’ve been at the

parked in angle space and turned off car. went into store for about 15 minutes. got in car and started it. heard a noise sounding like a car revving engine and looked behind me to see if it was another vehicle. realized it was my car. tried to push foot on accelerator but it was all the way to floor and would not come up. immediately put foot on brake and turned off car. looked at floor mat and
... found that was not the issue. waited about 30 seconds and turned car back on and found that the accelerator was not all the way to the floor like before. It ran like it always has. drove 10 minutes back home with no issue. when home, went in house for 15 minutes; came back out and started it and ran like normal. i then searched the issue and discovered SEVERAL complaints about this issue. Thankful that I didn't run into a building as anyone else (there was a man walking into a house DIRECTLY in front of where I was parked.....I would have hit him if i had put the car in drive.) No warning lights or anything else visible on car. no issue prior. not been inspected by anyone else or the dealer at this time. Not reported to police department or insurance company. I am NOT an elderly person and I KNOW I did not accidentally do anything wrong when this issue occurred. purchased this subaru in 2018 as they are highly rated as far as safety goes and very dependable. I recently traded in my 2017 Tesla Model X for a 2023 Tesla Model X. I am concerned the falcon wing doors on the 2023 Model X do not have the same safety features they did on the 2017 Model X, posing greater risk of injury and harm. My 10 year old daughter suffered a concussion when the falcon wing door opened, failed to detect her standing nearby, and hit her on the head. I brought the car in
... to my local Tesla service center where we reproduced the behavior of the falcon wing door. I stood close to the door while a tech and sales representative observed as it hit me while it opened. However, after leaving the car with the service center to be evaluated, Tesla concluded the falcon wing doors were functioning as expected and told us it is our responsibility to stand clear of the doors and that while the doors have sensors, they do not cover all areas around the door. I escalated the claim beyond the service center to an internal Tesla engineering team and received an identical response. I am concerned that Tesla is not willing to reassess the sensor coverage of the falcon wing doors and that these doors could cause more harm. I drove a 2017 Model X for five years and never experienced a safety issue with the falcon wing doors. The doors on my previous Model X would stop if they detected the slightest obstacle. We always felt safe using them. The sensors seem to have changed on the 2023 Model X and the falcon wing doors are far less sensitive to objects and humans. This is very concerning. What is more concerning is Tesla's response indicating they don't intend to do anything about it. The falcon wing doors are heavy and automatic. They aren't manual doors that are easy to control. I believe it is Tesla's responsibility to make these doors as safe as possible and integrate complete coverage with door sensors. I am submitting this complaint in the hopes that it will result in getting Tesla to improve the safety of the falcon wing door sensor system.Read more

Please note that I have my car regularly inspected for oil changes and maintenance. The adaptive cruise control stopped working August 2022. The car displays "malfunction" on the dashboard. This was inconvenient and at first intermittent, but I did not think it was putting any persons safety at risk. I went to a local Nissan dealership in NJ and they stated it would cost $600 to replace, but no s

There was no car immediately in front of me. The collision warning suddenly came on and the emergency brakes were activated while attempting to accelerate onto a 65 mph highway in NJ. It was extremely startling. It certainly could have caused an accident, especially when vehicles are accelerating to merge onto a highway. I was fortunate that there was no car immediately behind me. On April 26 and 27 2023, the emergency brake was activated again due to a collision warning while in a parking garage. The only correlation I can think that ties these occurrences is when driving from a shaded to sunny location. All three times it also occurred during acceleration. I feel Hyundai is being negligent in not extending this service to include replacing parts of the underbody, such as the brake lines, that are required for the normal and safe operation of the vehicle. Due to their lack of underbody corrosion prevention that should have been in place when the car was manufactured my safety was put at great risk and I now have to replace the brake lines at my own cost. Note that something similar to this
... has happened 5x before. All of these incidents had been at highway speeds (70+ mph) with one at about 40 mph. All had complete shutdown of power in the accelerator. In the current case I was able to still have a bit of power left and pulled over to the side of the road. Fortunately, it was late and there weren't too many other cars out so I didn't have as many safety concerns as I had in the past when I stalled on the highway. After I pulled the car over I stopped the car, turned the car off via the ignition button, unbuckled my seat belt and opened my door. Then I restarted my car and the error message attached had disappeared and I was able to return home. Note that I had had the dealer apply Recall 03A a week earlier and this seemed to be what was supposed to happen under that Recall which is NOT identified as a complete fix. Still, it is very disconcerting to lose full power. In my case, I was thankful to not have gotten into an accident.Read more

The electrical system malfunctioned, causing all warning lamps on the dashboard to light up. Because this happened while I was driving, I do believe that this electrical issue caused safety concerns for others on the road. The taillights went out first, seconds later, all remaining electrical failed at once, including airbags, windows, headlights at one point, pre collision warning lights, lane de
... parture, and the breaking system failed as well. This caused safety concerns for myself, my passenger, as well as the public because all safety warning sensors failed at once while on the road. The problem has been confirmed by Roseville Toyota, who is a manufacturer, and who currently has the vehicle now, they said that there is definitely an electrical issue and most likely a short of some sort. The warning lamps and messages on the dash lit up one at a time, seconds apart from each other, until the entire dash was lit up completely while I was driving on March 24, 2023.Read more
