In January 2023 a service bulletin was released where Honda described this exact issue that were happening amongst other 2017 Honda pilot. I took my car in and I said this is exactly what’s happening. My service advisor told me that he needed to do the software update first per the service bulletin. He said if it doesn’t work then to bring the car back and they will do the remainder of the repairs, such as replacing the starter and the assembly. I asked him if we could skip the software update since we’ve been having this issue for over two years and he said no. Six months later I am driving down the interstate and come to a complete stop and the entire car shuts off and never restarts again. I was stranded on the interstate for over four hours, waiting for a tow truck. I had to have the police come because it was at 6 PM and soon after got dark. The Fuel Injectors in this generation of Honda CR-V's (2017-current), have widespread reported issues related to clogged injectors - mostly in 2017-2019 models at approx. the 75,000 mile range. This causes the vehicles computer to illuminate multiple warning messages on the dash board (Emission System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, V
... ehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem), Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Electric Parking Brake Problem, Tire Pressure Monitor Problem). These warning messages are usually related to an OBD-II code of running too rich or cylinder misfire - P0172, P0303, P219F, etc.... Once one of these fuel injector related trouble codes is illuminated on the dash, all the above listed safety features are disabled. In certain cases, the car may even go into LIMP mode - even while on the highway and vehicle traffic behind the vehicle. There are many documented cases online on Facebook CR-V groups, and other CR-V related websites documenting this problem. Again, all related to a potential poor design with the Honda CR-V Fuel Injector in the 1.4L Turbo engine introduced in the 2017 model year - that then disables key safety features of the vehicle! There is a warning lamp on the dash that informs me of when the trailer brake controller connects and disconnects. This failure first appeared to us on May 30th, 2023 which was the first time we connected to our Grand Design 2500RL trailer. It has been consistently having this issue every time we are connected to the trailer. The truck has been to two Chevrolet dealers so far to try and resolve this issue. The truck has developed a shake that can be felt in the floor boards, seat, and steering wheel at highway speeds. It’s has spent several months at dealerships without being fixed. I have replaced tires, wheels, shocks, upper control arms, and the transfer case without success.

The part that failed was the dual clutch. I was in traffic and my car did not want to accelerate after the stop it began to sputter then went to accelerate this happened more then once. The Keyless Access Control Unit (Smart Unit) is defective. After the car is shut off and locked, the dash lights, interior lights, head lights will flicker on and off. The car alarm will also be activated. All this causes the battery to be drained. The work around is to disconnect the battery when parked or not lock the car.

... earch, I realized that Ford know this. They redesigned the torque converter in the years since 2017. Why is there not a recall on their transmissions? I called Ford customer service and they know it is a problem but don't care. Many of the testimonies I read online said that they didn't even get a warning light until the transmission failed. My car is drivable for the moment but I am afraid the warning light is going to come on and my car is going to slow to a stop and I will stranded or worse.
