The steering wheel sticks and requires extra effort to break it loose to make small adjustments. This seems to happen and get more severe after a minute or two of driving, and especially when speeds approach 35 mph and higher. Very difficult to make small adjustments smoothly when cruising on an interstate or a straighaway. You have to break it loose for small steering moves, and you can even fee
... l the vibration of it breaking loose in the steering wheel itself. Often you can even hear the sound of it breaking loose in the steering column itself. Went to the Honda dealer, and they cant get me in until Feb 1 2024 to even look at it. I notice there is a TSB MC-10239109-0001 concerning steering boxs on Honda's. This started sticking at about 2000 miles on the vehicle, and is getting more consistent. I now have 2800 miles on the vehicle. The dealership seemed to be unaware of the problem but it is all over the internet, and I find it hard to believe they do not know about it as it has been reported on 2022 and 2023 civics and now is apparently affecting the 2024 models.Read more

While driving, the vehicle displayed "Low Oil Pressure, Stop Engine" and we experienced a loss in power. Luckily, we were near our home at the time. We were traveling at approximately 65mph on a busy highway and the vehicle lurched as if it were going into a power-limited mode. We were able to get off of the roadway safely, but we were lucky in doing so. After dodging traffic and getting to a saf
... e location, the vehicle was towed to a local Ford dealership. Upon inspection, they advised that the oil pump/belt/belt tensioner had gone out. This had caused a number of other issues within the engine (timing, bearings, etc) and the entire engine would have to be replaced in reference to SSM 49918. Researching online, there appears to be a large number of drivers experiencing the same issue with a failed oil pump that leads to a failed engine, some of which have seized completely while traveling. Luckily, ours did not seize completely, but the vehicle did drop drastically in power, causing other vehicles to swerve to miss us as we had an uncontrollable loss in speed. The vehicle is currently at the Ford dealership still as I call around to get additional quotes for repair. Ford estimates the cost of repair to be approximately $8,700. Ford customer service also refused any financial assistance due to our "CLV Score" not being "high enough", even though this is a known issue with this engine specifically. When I asked for a copy of the repair order for the quoted repairs from the Ford dealership, they provided me with a repair order with no diagnosis, quote, estimate, or any other information regarding the repairs needed. All information has been by phone with no written documentation on the issue from the service department.Read more

My family has been in several near collisions with oncoming traffic due to the vehicle moving after a delay and then at a much slower than expected pace. Pulling out in to traffic is nearly impossible when the vehicle malfunctions. It has also depleted the entire battery and left us motionless on the side of the road multiple times. Due to the problem being intermittent and not reliably duplicated a service technician was given permission to use the vehicle to commute to and from work for a time. This allowed him to experience the issue in person. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by the dealers service department and they have been working with engineers from the manufacturer. When this problem occurs there typically is not a warning light or a code stored. They believe it is a faulty connection. This issue will cause an accident in the future if not resolved. The manufacturer has not been able to determine what is causing the issue.
