... leak under the vehicle and oil pouring out. This happened while on a highway about to merge onto a freeway. I was 34weeks pregnant and had 3 kids in the vehicle. We were barely able to make it to the shoulder before stopping. Cars were not slowing down passing us. Very dangerous situation. If we had not been able to get to the shoulder when we did we would have likely been hit at high speeds. Vehicle was towed to Heartland Tire Inc at 11438 Jefferson Court, Champlin MN 55316. Upon inspection on [XXX] they found a hole (around 3" diameter) in the engine block. We have reached out to Kia 5 different times only able to speak to one person who suggested we pay Kia to investigate what happened, they have no interest in exploring this issue without charging us. Therefore with a current estimate of $9316.84 we have made the decision to scrap the vehicle. There were no warning lamps on prior to pulling over. After pulling over the engine, oil and possibly a third lamp were lit up. For about 10 mins we had no power after turning off the vehicle (even to put the windows down, another safety concern) I was able to open the front passenger window until the I could get some power and roll down some windows. I had to try to avoid traffic to get to the emergency lane with zero power just coasting to the side of the highway. Based on other Ford Maverick owners' testimony it seems Ford Maverick Hybrids getting a recall update to their Powertrain Control Module are then experiencing unpredictable and recurring instances of their truck suddenly having these check engine and random shutdown issues. It seems this has happened to dozens of owners, often at high speeds in the middle of the interstate. This has happened to me twice on March 20, 2024 and again on March 28, 2024. I had no problem whatsoever until the dealer reprogrammed a computer module associated with a recall. The programming change caused me to have issues when none existed prior. The dealer refused to restore the programming to the original configuration. I read of many that had the same circumstances with their Ford Mavericks on various internet community boards. This is very dangerous and Ford need to develop a fix quickly! The Land Rover Defender has a center touchscreen that displays the cameras (rear back up camera, forward facing camera, Birds Eye camera). There have been two instances now when, upon turning on the vehicle, the center touchscreen remained blank (did not power on). Turning the vehicle on/off did not make it come on, neither did "restarting" the system by holding down the infotainment power button.

After looking into this problem online, it appears that there are many other people suffering with the same lemon of a car. Hyundai knows that there is a real problem with the 2016 Sonata, and they are not doing anything about it. We have spoken to the dealerships, and they say there's nothing they can do about the problem because it is out of warranty. We're still making payments on this vehicle and can't even drive it now. The mechanics said that the vehicle needs a new engine. Hyundai needs to issue a recall and help their customers instead of turning a blind eye to the problem. Driving at high speeds with absolutely no indication that there is a problem is a real danger. Steering wheel has excessive play while driving, forcing driver to constantly correct when driving down the highway. Jeep will drift out of lane on its own putting all drivers at risk. Starting in late February 2024, my new vehicle has had numerous major oil leaks which have not been able to be repaired successfully. Oil has leaked out and pooled on the drivers side of the transmission bell house. Given the oil leaks proximity to the heat from the turbo charger down pipe, exhaust pipe, and various other ignition sources, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for catching on fire.

I purchased a used 2021 Chevrolet Silverado from a dealership 5 months ago. Almost immediately after purchasing the truck, I would hear and feel an intermittent pop that originated from near the floor of the front passenger side. The sound became more frequent and would happen mostly when making sharp turns but also when making softer turns. I took it to the dealership to investigate. They had
... it for a week and supposedly examined the entire vehicle. They were able to replicate the pop sound when driving it but were unable to diagnose the problem. They claimed that sometimes trucks just make noise and assured me that the vehicle was safe to drive. I asked how they knew it was safe if they didn't know what the problem was and how was I to know that whatever is causing the sound isn't causing internal damage. The service manager again assured me that the certified mechanics looked at every detail of the vehicle and found nothing to be concerned about and sent me on my way. After taking the truck home, I continued normal use of the truck, taking it on 3 long distance trips on the highway. The sound continued as it had before, occurring intermittently when turning. 2 days ago, I was backing out of my driveway. I heard a very loud pop and got out of the vehicle to find that the front passenger wheel had completely broken at the ball joint of the control arm and was lying nearly flat on the ground, held suspended by the brake line and CV boot and other attached components. The truck was towed to the dealership, where it currently is. The service manager told me that the mechanics did everything that they were supposed to have done and that unfortunately this is a mechanical part that can fail and that he has seen this issue in 7-8 other vehicles like mine. If this is a common problem, there should have been a red flag when presented with this issue. If this would have occurred on the highway at a high rate of speed, my family and I could have been killed.Read more
