I have owned this new vehicle for only approximately 2 months and have had at least 4 instances where the vehicle does not respond immediately to my foot on the accelerator when attempting to restart from a stop. Three times I was at a stop light and when I attempted to go as the light turned green there was no acceleration response from the gas pedal for a couple of seconds, and in two of the in
... stances because I had my foot pressed far on the gas attempting to get power, there was a sudden acceleration and lurch forward. Most recently, on the fourth occasion I was turning out into traffic from a parking lot after being at a standstill and got no response and instead rolled slowly out in front of an oncoming car until after a few seconds the accelerator finally responded and I could go. I believe this is a safety risk as it could happen when I was attempting a left turn in traffic, which would subject me and my passengers/children to an extreme risk of being hit. I took the car into the dealership after the first two instances and they were not able to reproduce the incidents and offered no help. - Software failure resulted in loss of steering control, speed control, and brakes became unavailable. I was on highway car was at 65 mph and then I got a bunch of error messages mentioned below- 1) Steering assist not available 2) AWD is disabled 3) Headlamps not available 4)Service brake assist And then I was not able to brake the car, and steering became highly unresponsive. ... gas and let the car roll for 1 mile before stopping safely on shoulder, from where I called Cadillac for support (they towed the car back), since error didn't resolve after stopping or rebooting the car. I took screenshot of these errors after stopping and attached them in this email. - Yes it put safety of me, my passenger, and other vehicles at risk, loss speed and steering control you have cause me to hit any other car. - Yes problem is reported to manufacturer, car is in service. - Vehicle is with Service, since no one got hurt, we didn't involve police. - No prior message or warnings we recieved, all errors come as soon as the issues appear.Read more

I am writing to report a serious safety defect in my 2024 Acura ZDX concerning the Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking. The system exhibits hyper-sensitivity, leading to unwarranted and dangerous automatic braking events. On 3/17/25, at approximately 4pm PT, I was driving my Acura ZDX on US 101 at 65 mph. However, the Automatic Emergency Braking engaged the brakes forcefully, bringing my vehicle to a complete stop in the middle of the freeway. The vehicle essentially stalled for approximately 5-10 seconds, and I was unable to accelerate or move forward during this time. This created a highly dangerous situation, as I was vulnerable to being rear-ended by oncoming traffic. This incident occurred even though I had disabled the Forward Collision Mitigation System through the vehicle's settings. The system's behavior indicates a severe malfunction or design flaw, as it overrides the driver's intent and poses a significant safety risk. The fact that the system engaged the brakes when it was supposed to be disabled is very concerning. This hyper-sensitivity and the inability to fully disable the Emergency Braking System are critical safety issues that could lead to serious accidents, injuries, or fatalities. I request that the NHTSA investigate this matter immediately.Read more
