I purchased a used pickup truck in October 2023 from a dealership in South Holland, Illinois. After the purchase, I later discovered that the odometer reading on the vehicle had been rolled back. A Chrysler dealership’s service record showed the vehicle had over 188,000 miles earlier in 2023, but it was sold to me showing around 129,000 miles. This is a difference of almost 60,000 miles. When
... I contacted the selling dealership, they blamed the auction they purchased it from and have not provided any resolution. Because of this discrepancy, I was denied extended warranty coverage and had to pay out-of-pocket for major repairs soon after purchase. I am submitting this report so it can be documented as a potential case of odometer fraud and investigated further.Read more

The contact, her mother, and her daughter were not injured. The insurance company was contacted, and the contact requested a tow truck. However, the contact called roadside assistance. The driver, from roadside assistance, disconnected an unknown wire from the brake caliper. When the vehicle was restarted, the parking brake lever was engaged but failed to function as intended, and the ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive very slowly and took the vehicle to a family member's residence. The contact noticed that smoke was emitting from the front driver-side tire. The contact took the vehicle to Pep Boys, where it was diagnosed that the front brake calipers failed. However, the mechanic refused to repair the vehicle. The contact called the insurance company to have the vehicle towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the power brake booster was faulty, the vehicle had no brakes, the hydraulic control unit failed to build pressure, and an unknown internal leak was found. And the hydraulic brake system had a leak; the left front wheel had caught on fire, which caused damage to the left front brake caliper, the rotor pads, and the brake hose, and the rear rotors were glazed. The contact was informed that the brake booster, ABS module, brake caliper, brake line, gaskets, front brake pads, front rotors, rear brake pads, rear rotors, and adapter plate needed to be replaced. While using the heated steering wheel function on my 2020 Land Rover Defender, the steering wheel began to overheat significantly after being turned on for a short time. The surface temperature became so hot that it burned and discolored the leather, releasing a strong burnt smell. This overheating poses a serious fire hazard and could easily burn the driver’s hands during operation. This issue
... compromises driver safety because the steering wheel is an essential control part of the vehicle. If the driver’s hand is burned or the leather catches fire, it could result in loss of control of the vehicle. There were no warning messages or lights before or during the incident. The problem has occurred multiple times and can be reproduced when the heated steering wheel function is activated. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am writing to formally report a critical safety incident involving my 2020 Tesla Model 3, where the bumper detached while driving through a puddle of water on Oct 9th, 2025. This occurred on a busy street, and fortunately, another driver alerted me just in time, averting a potentially serious accident. Following the incident, I arranged for my vehicle to be towed to a Tesla-authorized collisio
... n center and opened a claim with my insurance company. I have since learned that this issue is recognized internally by Tesla, as they have created a service incident regarding it, but have failed to communicate this to customers effectively. Tesla's lack of accountability is concerning. Despite repeated attempts to address this with their support and service teams, they have deflected responsibility and continue to downplay the seriousness of this matter, insisting I must rely on insurance to cover the costs. This situation raises significant safety concerns, not just for myself but for all Tesla Model 3 drivers. I urge NHTSA to take the following actions: 1. Investigate this safety issue regarding the bumper detachment on Tesla Model 3 vehicles. 2. Pressure Tesla to publicly acknowledge this known issue and take immediate corrective action to prevent future occurrences. 3. Ensure that affected customers are compensated for damages and repairs due to this defect. I appreciate your attention to this serious safety issue and look forward to seeing NHTSA hold Tesla accountable to protect all consumers and ensure vehicle safety. I have attached proof of diligent efforts on my part to get this resolved: - Claim number with Progressive - Communication with Tesla giving them proof of this issue - Earlier NHTSA bulletin acknowledging the issue and the Tesla internal service incident created for this issue. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.Read more

My Tesla displayed fault code RCM-A056 (Front Passenger Safety Restraint System Fault). This error disables or compromises the front passenger airbag/occupant restraint system. This automobile has a 3.7-liter engine manufactured by Ford Motor Company. We are the second owner of the vehicle. A dealer representative informed us the motor has an inherent defect while inspecting pinch weld failures. This engine, transversely mounted, was created whereby the chain driven water pump is located behind the front casing placing access on the passenger side of the vehicle. Water p
... umps have planned obsolescence and when these water pumps fail, the antifreeze drains into the engine crankcase mixing with the engine oil causing catastrophic failure of the engine within minutes of the water pump failure. This is a significant safety hazard causing the engine to seize and when at expressway driving could cause a serious accident due to the sudden loss of power and being stranded on the side of the road. There are approximately four (4) million vehicles manufactured by Ford and Mazda with the 3.5 and 3.7 liter transversely mounted engines. As the vehicles age, the water pump failure can occur between 120-150,000 miles rendering the vehicle incapacitated wherever the failure occurs. From my research, there is no prior warning of the failure. The cost to replace the pump is 2-3,000 USD and the engine is approximately 7,000 USD. Contacting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration would be our only recourse in a remedy for this defect. The 2014 Lincoln MKX FWD/AWD remains a beautiful and a functional vehicle, the type you would want to retain for many years beyond its initial service interval. We would therefore request the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this matter and mandate the manufacturer implement a cost effective retrofit to replace the water pump prior to failure or issue a full recall of the vehicles, compelling the manufacturer to provide a fair market value buy back to the current owners of the vehicles. We have factual data to support this claim and the severity of the encounter when the pump fails.Read more

9/23/2025 After multiple trips to the dealership, the issues with my vehicle continue to persist. Here is the breakdown of my current issues with my vehicle: 1. The backseat center console doesn’t close properly, so the dealership ordered the part almost two months ago, and it still has not arrived. 10/7/2025 (update) I wanted to inform you that I was quoted $3,347.01 for rear brake pads and rotors for my vehicle, which has less than 13,500 miles. I’m quite shocked because I was told that this isn’t covered under warranty and that I’m responsible for the cost. I’ve owned or leased at least five Range Rover sports in the past, and I’ve never experienced such rapid wear and tear. Additionally, the dealership acknowledged the window sealing issue for the third time and informed me that it’s now resolved after making some “adjustments.” However, I’m still puzzled because they didn’t order any replacement parts, and this is the third time I’ve taken my car in for the same issue.Read more

This has left me with an unsafe vehicle that cannot be repaired, yet I am still obligated to make monthly payments. My family is forced to either risk driving a defective vehicle or go without reliable transportation. Dealer Interaction •Dealer confirmed that the recall is active but has no available remedy. •Dealer stated GMC will not authorize a buyback, trade-in, or loaner vehicle until the recall repair is developed. •I am effectively stranded with an unsafe vehicle and no safe options. The defect creates a serious safety risk: coolant leaks can cause sudden engine overheating, loss of power, or engine failure while driving, putting occupants and other drivers at risk. The issue has been diagnosed and confirmed by a service center. Prior to the diagnosis, I observed low coolant levels and warning messages. I believe this is part of a widespread defect affecting the 3.0L supercharged engine, and I urge NHTSA to investigate whether 2020 Velar vehicles should be included in recall coverage.Read more

On August 4, 2025, while being operated in an ordinary and careful manner, the newly-purchased vehicle experienced an episode of sudden unintended acceleration, lurching forward uncontrollably and slamming into a tree. Then, as the driver attempted to back up, the vehicle charged forward and struck the tree again. The vehicle's driver airbag never deployed despite sustaining two head-on collisions
... which ultimately rendered the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle's manufacturer hired an "independent" inspector to inspect the vehicle. They found "no manufacturing defects" and blamed "human error" for the incident.Read more

GM is not handle this recall in a timely manner. They are refusing to inspect vehicle to see of there are any defects. This is concerning, as based on the recall notice, the engine may fail at anytime. This could cause a crash or leave me or my wife stranded on some road. My dealer would do the inspection but to do the inspection but they said they are not allowed until I have gotten "permission"
... from GM. This is a safety concern for me and my family and GM is not handling this appropriately. An immediate inspection should be done ensuring if the vehicle is safe to drive.Read more

Timing chain and gears need to be replaced. Check engine light came on. This should not be happening to a newer vehicle with 100,000 miles on it. I looked up other complaints and multiple people have filed complaints about the timing chain going out on their vehicle.
