I also CALLED TOYOTA, and they also said there were no recalls involving the electrical system or inverters. The Barstow Toyota dealership said it would cost over $5,000 to repair AND that they wouldn't have the parts they needed for a WEEK. As it was, I had been stranded in the desert at a hotel for two days. I then had to pay $1,100 to be towed back to LA and took it to a hybrid mechanic I trust and paid them to do the work. But this cost me THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS. In a month where a friend of mine died (which was the reason I was driving from city to city). To have to replace this on a car with only 50,000 miles is preposterous. The problem appears to be a design or component defect within the UA80-series transmission, leading to premature wear and potential failure. ... ed immediately by Custom European in Huntington Beach, Ca. He used original parts and it cost me $1,500.00 (799.57 parts, 660.00 labor, tax 60.42). The vehicle has not been inspected yet. When I received the SAFETY RECALL letter from JLR in Newport, I tried to get in for inspection but to no avail. Same situation, 100's of cars in front of me. When I called Range Rover of North America, I was told your computer system has been down for over two months and that I should call back every week to see if it's working (by Jared). Jared told me because I had the safety recall corrected already, this was the only way to get reimbursed but NOTHING could be done while the computer system was down. The SAFETY RECALL letter specifically says reimbursement is available but Jared said nothing is available without the computer system, which as I mentioned earlier has been down for two months. Telling me to call back weekly to see if it's up again is not the resolution I was seeking. JLR cannot inspect because they have no place to log the information since your "computer system is down." This is a classic case of "we can't do anything without our computer" but you can call us back (basically hoping I'll forget and go away). I spent good money on this safety recall and need to be reimbursed properly. Range Rover of North America and JLR of Newport Beach are doing NOTHING to address that situation with those of us that took care of the problem before it was too late. The dealer has tried to remedy the situation but ran into the same loss of power after another update. I do not trust this vehicle with the safety of my family in mind. Jeep/Stellantis has yet to notify it's customers of this potential safety hazard nor have they communicated/acknowledged it publicly to raise awareness. It could save lives and something needs to be done. There are hundreds if not thousands of impacted owners and some might not even know yet. This is a safety issue, and Ford should be made aware that they are creating undue hardships for their vehicle owners, as safety issues have to be addressed, and for some unforeseen reason, warranties and extended warranties do not seem to cover this issue, which appears to be very widespread, and most likely a manufacturing defect.Read more

It gave me a warning that the battery has failed while I was waiting on a signal light, and the car started limiting my speed.
