I own a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover where the airbag warning light remains illuminated at all times on the dashboard, even when the front passenger seat is empty and no cargo is present on the seat. The warning light for airbag indicatesthat the air bag is not activated and will not work in a collision. The passenger air bag has been inoperable for over 2 years. This issue has persisted for several
... years, with documented dealer service records dating back to before my warranty expired. The dealer (Land Rover of Palm Beach) diagnosed it as resulting from the front passenger seat movement causing detachment or strain on the wiring harness/connector for the occupant classification system (OCS), which detects passenger presence and controls airbag deployment. The Passenger seat air bag sensor or wiring harness is defective and needs replacement for the passenger side air bag to function. They said that all 2018 Range Rover air bag harnesses are too short and are prone to being detached by seat movements / adjustments. They have repeatedly reset the light and reconnected the harness, but the warning recurs shortly after, indicating an unresolved design or manufacturing defect in the under-seat wiring that is prone to failure from normal seat adjustments. This prevents reliable operation of the passenger frontal airbag, posing a serious safety risk as it may fail to deploy (or deploy improperly) in a crash, endangering occupants. The dealer refuses to install a new larger harness or provide a permanent fix, despite this being a known recurring problem reported by other owners of similar L405 Range Rover models. They say that Land Rover corporate is not providing a newer replacement harness and is not paying for the repairs despite this being a serious safety issue. I request NHTSA investigation into this potential widespread defect to determine if a recall or safety action is warranted. This may be the same problem as reported in NHTSA Campaign # 11500093 & 11693335.Read more

chassis/frame was recalled on warranty that Toyota did not inform me of and they refused to do anything about it. They said two regular mail letters were sent out to me. I have never received them. The framing of my vehicle is so bad that an accident was waiting to happen when I took my vehicle foreign oil exchange. I asked them to look at the muffler because it was hanging and that’s when they
... noticed the situation and they stated that you are very lucky that you are alive because the framing could have collapse on the road. I called Toyota and they said the warranty expired on 2019. I told them that I was never aware of this recall but and never received any letter regarding it. I am filing this complaint. I am asking for the company to provide a part and labor it. If they first have contacted me this situation could have been fixed. There has been lawsuits regarding the same situation. if they refuse to fix this situation, I will have to file a lawsuit against Toyota for the labor and part that cost roughly $16,500 plus tax. The car runs very well with no other major issues. They did not either send me a letter of the spring leaf recall. I am asking this agency to get involved this has been a major accidentRead more

The cars electrical system failed while driving on the highway. It first impacted the traction control, then ABS, then put the car into neutral while traveling at 70 mph the highway with no ability to put the car into drive. Fortunately I was able to coast into the breakdown lane before the car completely shut off and put itself in park. Had I not been able to get into the breakdown lane we would
... have been sitting stalled in the middle of the highway with no flashers p putting me, my wife and kids at significant risk of injury or death with cars and trucks going 70+ mph. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and I have been told it is a DC-to-DC converter that has failed and is the cause of the issue. The dealer informed me that this has been a recurring issue for these vehicles and that parts are on backorder due to the volume or orders. At the time of my call they indicated there is a "significant" number of orders nationally for this part. I was fortunate to have been able to get into the breakdown lane but this would have turned out very differently had I not been able to do that. I think others should be warned/aware of this issue.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety and operability issue involving my 2018 Land Rover Range Rover, which has rendered the vehicle inoperable and unsafe to drive. Within approximately four months of purchase, the vehicle experienced repeated mechanical failures, including persistent check engine warnings, limp mode activation, failed compression testing, fuel injector failur
... es across all cylinders, exhaust and turbo-related faults, and a full diesel particulate filter (DPF). The vehicle currently will not perform as designed and is unsafe to operate. The vehicle was repeatedly brought to Jaguar Land Rover South Orlando for service. Despite assurances that diagnostics showed “no issues,” the vehicle rapidly deteriorated and ultimately became inoperable. While in the dealership’s custody, additional concerns arose, including unauthorized third-party access to my vehicle without my consent and delays in releasing the vehicle for towing. Additionally, when the vehicle was finally released, the battery was fully depleted despite the vehicle being in the dealership’s possession and not operated by me, raising further concerns about improper handling. The dealership has quoted repair costs exceeding $13,500 and has refused to assist, citing “as-is” sale status, despite the vehicle failing shortly after purchase and exhibiting severe engine-related defects. These failures pose a potential safety risk due to loss of power, limp mode activation, and inability to safely operate the vehicle. I am concerned that these issues may reflect a broader defect pattern in this model year. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and evaluate whether these engine, fuel system, and emissions-related failures present a safety defect warranting further investigation.Read more

Vehicle Status: Brand New Current Mileage: Approximately 10,000 miles Incident Description On 1/8/26, while operating the vehicle on the interstate at highway speeds with cruise control engaged, the Check Engine light began to flash. Simultaneously, the vehicle’s warning system issued an alert stating that the engine oil was excessively hot. Immediately after these warnings, the engine began
... to emit a loud knocking sound and lost all power, shutting off completely while in motion. I was able to safely maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. Post-Failure Observations Upon inspection under the hood, I noted the engine was radiating extreme heat. I allowed the engine to cool completely before attempting a restart. While the engine attempted to turn over, it failed to start. Diagnostic Alerts Following the mechanical failure, I received multiple critical notifications via the GMC mobile app citing various engine failure errors. Summary Given that this vehicle is brand new with only 10,000 miles, a catastrophic engine failure of this nature is unacceptable. The vehicle was being operated under normal highway conditions when it became inoperable, posing a significant safety risk. I am seeking a full diagnostic review and a permanent resolution under the manufacturer's warranty.Read more

While performing routine maintenance on my 2018 Acura TLX, I discovered a critical structural failure in the front right (passenger side) lower control arm. The factory weld connecting the stamped steel control arm to the compliance bushing housing has failed and separated. Visual inspection reveals a clear manufacturing defect: there is a significant crater and void in the weld bead, indicative o
... f incomplete fusion or a "start/stop" error during the manufacturing process. This is a latent structural defect, not a stress fracture from mileage or impact. The weld has begun to separate from the housing, leaving a visible gap. Safety Risk: This failure compromises the suspension geometry and structural integrity of the vehicle. If the weld completes its separation while driving, it would result in the control arm detaching from the subframe, leading to immediate loss of steering control, wheel collapse, and a high probability of a collision. Status: No warning lights were illuminated prior to discovery. The vehicle has not been involved in any collisions that would affect this component. The defective part is currently on the vehicle but is available for inspection by NHTSA or manufacturer representatives upon request.Read more
