WE HAVE TAKEN OUR 2019 KZ SPORTSMEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL WORK ON THE SOLERA SMART ARM AWNING. IT HAS TAKEN 4 TRIPS SO FAR AND 3 REPAIRS. EACH TIME, THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED WITH THE AWNING NOT WORKING AND THE CONTROLLER SHORTING OUT CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO COME ON DIMLY AND EVEN, ONE TIME, THE LIGHTS CYCLED THROUGH THE 3 LEVELS OF INTENSITY. THE 2017 K-Z VENOM 5TH WHEEL TOY HAULER HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FRAME BEING WEAK AND FLEXING. I KNOW OF 3 OF THESE UNITS AT ONE SMALL DEALERSHIP IN ATHENS, TEXAS (ATHENS RV) THAT A HAVE FLEX IN THE FRAME THAT ACCORDING TO INFORMATION FROM SEVERAL SOURCES INDICATE THAT THERE IS NO FIX. WE WERE ABLE TO AFFECT REPAIRS VIA CONTACTING GOOD SAM ERS, WHICH WAS ABLE TO LOCATE A MOBILE MECHANIC/REPAIR SERVICE. WHILE WE WERE WAITING FOR THEM TO ARRIVE, I WALKED BACK THROUGH OUR PREVIOUS PATH OF TRAVEL TO LOCATE THE FAILED U-BOLTS. I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE ONE OF THEM, AND FROM MY INSPECTION LOOKS TO BE THE FINAL ONE THAT WAS HOLDING THE AXLE TOGETHER BECAUSE IT HAD SHEARED CLEAN THROUGH. I BELIEVE THAT THE OTHER U-BOLT HAD DEPARTED ITS LOCATION SOMETIME IN THE PAST, MOST PROBABLY BECAUSE OF A SERIOUS MANUFACTURING/ASSEMBLY PRACTICE. ON THE FORWARD AXLE (UNTOUCHED FROM FACTORY DELIVERY), OF THE TANDEM, I FOUND THAT; ?NO WASHERS WERE USED ON THE U-BOLTS ?EQUAL LEG/THREAD LENGTH ON SIX OF THE POTENTIAL 8 LEGS ?ONE U-BOLT WAS SERIOUSLY FLAWED IN ITS ASSEMBLY OONE LEG WAS CROSS THREADED/STRIPPED AND HAD ONLY WHAT APPEARED TO BE ONE NUT WIDTH IN THREAD CONTACT. PURCHASED NEW 5TH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILER, EQUIPPED WITH NANKANG 205 7015 TIRES, IN JANUARY 06. ON JULY 31 06, STARTED FIRST LONG TRIP WITH TRAILER. ON TUESDAY, AUG 1 06, WHILE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 60 MPH, THE RIGHT REAR TRAILER TIRE DISINTEGRATED. THE ONLY REMAINING PIECES OF THE TIRE IS PORTIONS OF THE INNER AND OUTER SIDEWALLS. *JB
