I called to report these issues because my vehicle was not inspected before I left the lot. We canceled our paid trip and headed back to TX. While driving, the gas and oil pan light would turn on (2-3 min) then go off. While on the freeway, suddenly, the car shuts off. The best way I can describe it during the process is (sitting in a parked car with the ACC position) everything is working but the car isn’t “on”. Due to MPH being stuck at 23, I can say I was literally going the speed limit (60-65, flow of traffic) to 0! The phones were still charging, lights, and dashboard stayed lit, hazards light worked, and we literally rolled until the car stopped! Since this is a rental by law it should have been checked before handing me the keys. The employee handed me the keys and pointed to the car from his computer. As soon as I was aware it was a problem I called multiple times to report this. When the situation was not properly handled by Avis the first 4 times, I called the police. I requested to file a report and the officer did not show, however, Harris County sent a tow truck. I will be filling a police report in the morning. I continued to check the dipstick but while driving on a very busy interstate, the engine light went on and lost power. I barely managed to get to the breakdown lane. A complete safety hazard. I was towed to the closest garage where the owner suggested he see’s 3-4 of these a week. He would not touch it, have it towed to Hyundai. I paid for another diagnostic and now a flat bed tow. Key Hyundai of Salem NH accepted the vehicle. I paid another $498 to have an “engine tear-down” send a detailed finding report to Corporate. I called Corporate and filled my own case number. I was denied by Corporate, I was told I was a subsequent owner. The dealership didn’t match, I’m denied because the engine didn’t seize because of Rod issue. Well Hyundai is praying upon consumers. They knowingly initiated the KDS Recall and installed sensors to place a vehicle in “Limp Mode” so the rod isn’t the issue and they deny coverage. I paid a private mechanic verify cylinder 3 has low compression. Had the car not gone into “Limp Mode” the rod bearings would have failed.Read more

She said the dealership would not work with any facility close to me to make the repair so I must drive the 440 plus round trip miles for BMW dealer repair. Repair of 1.5 to 2 days means I would either need lodging and waste least 2-3 days of my time or drive back home with a 2nd trip to the dealer to return a loaner and get my car, 880 miles and many hours driving. Even a 1 day repair means 440 miles and many hours. Called BMW Recall Hotline at [XXX] & explained my situation. They declined help saying the dealer decides how the repair is handled. I called BMW Customer Service [XXX] . They declined help & said a BMW dealer must repair unless it wants to work with another repair facility. I submitted a web-form message on BMW's corporate website online message portal outlining the problem and requesting help to get the safety recall fix completed in a convenient manner; asked to escalate if possible. They replied 3 days later declining to help saying: "The recall would have to be performed at a BMW dealership. Unfortunately, towing assistance is not available for this recall. If you would like to have the repair performed at another mechanic, It would be a non-reimbursable out of pocket expense. I would not be able to submit an escalation in this matter because it does not meet the criteria to be escalated. I apologize about an inconvenience this may cause." This seems unreasonable for a safety recall that could cause a car fire. Can NHTSA please help me obtain a reasonably convenient repair from BMW? My Ford Escape was fitted with two Cooper tires (235/55 R 17) that had to be replaced with less than 20k miles on them. After using the tires in normal city/highway situations, both tires started to bulge causing vibration when driving the vehicle. This was due to the belts breaking within the tire. ... these tires should've worn out so quickly and it sounds like the exact same issue many of their other tires currently under recall have. They are well under their warranty of 80k miles, but I will not put another Cooper tire on my car. I've only included the TIN from one tire, because I do not have the TIN for the first one that bulged. It has already been removed and disposed of. On or around 9/13/25 my ABS, Brake, Traction and Emergency Sign sensors turned on in my 2015 Toyota Prius. I noticed that my brakes became squishy and when I drove, it took longer for my car to brake (there was more distance in my braking ability to stop the car). My car also felt a bit more airy than it usually does when I drive it. I took it to 2 independent car repair shops for a diagnostic and
... both told me that the ABS C1391 code came up. Soon thereafter, I took it to a local Toyota dealership for a diagnostic and was given the ABS C1391(code) Abnormal Leak in the accumulator. The Toyota mechanic informed me that that when he did the diagnostic, the TSB 0024-19 code came up on his end, which means that Toyota alerts their mechanics of the necessary procedures to implement for this problem, as it's a known Toyota problem and defect: 1) Remove & Replace the Brake Booster Assembly w/the Master Cylinder (apparently the master cylinder goes out too since they're connected) and 2) Remove and Replace the Brake Booster Assembly Pump. Toyota's estimate to repair it is $4,404.72; I can't afford this and need a car. It's my only car! I did research and learned that this is a known Toyota issue for Prius (2010-2015) and a Customer Support Program w/an extended warranty was issued to cover the full cost. Despite this, their extended warranty expired for me on 12/29/24, despite me meeting the other 10 yr or 150K or less mileage criteria. Despite filing a complaint with Toyota's Resolution Center they refused to extend or offer warranty or any payment for a KNOWN Toyota defect, saying my issue was "after the extended warranty date" and there "isn't a recall." I'm disgusted to say the least about this, as Toyota is well aware of this car part defect which is a safety hazard and liability for its customers. Something must be done about this. It's unfair and not equitable to have loyal Toyota customers absorb the cost of known safety hazard defects by Toyota and risk lives.Read more
