Car seats turning mechanism is getting stuck in the open position, therefore car seat will not lock into place. This seat cannot be used while driving if the seat is not in a locked position. Sometimes we can wiggle the handle to snap back into place, but it’s not working as intended. The seat just became two years old.

On October 23rd at approximately 0900-0915 hours I arrived at a friends house located at [XXX] . As I normally do, I pulled up into the driveway which has a pretty significant incline. I shifted the column shifter into park, and turned off the vehicle via the push button ignition switch. The parking brake/hill brake system automatically engaged as per normal operation. The driver's side door hit me in the right shoulder which pushed me to my left and caused me to roll my left ankle due to the down slope of the driver way. While I felt immense pain in my right ankle, I was able to jump back into the truck and slam on the brakes, causing both rear wheels to lock up and skid in the driveway. I then turned back on the vehicle, noting that the transmission position was still in park, and the parking brake/hill brake was still engaged. I had to disengage the push button parking brake/hill-brake, shift the vehicle from park into drive to move back up the driveway. This time I ensured that the vehicle did not move after following the exact same steps. My truck under went an approximately 30 minute software "upgrade" approximately 2.5 weeks ago. I believe there was an issue where the park sensor did not fully engage, leading the vehicle to believe it was still in an operational gear, however it does not explain how it was able to not only over-ride the parking/hill-brake itself, as well as allow me to shut the vehicle off and exit the vehicle. This safety hazard has caused me an injury that has already caused me to miss 48 hours of work (I am a federal firefighter) and will require more missed time should surgery be required. There were no warning lamps, the backup camera was not engaged, the only audible sound was the beep that the vehicle makes when engaging the parking brake automatically. However, this vehicle has not been included in prior recalls addressing similar timing chain failures. I rely on this vehicle for essential travel and live on SSDI, which limits my ability to cover repeated high-cost repairs for what appears to be a manufacturer-related safety defect. The risk of sudden engine failure with no prior indication is unacceptable and warrants further investigation. They still claimed there was not enough to warrant the assesment. They determined it was the IVT sensor which was a $1,432 fix. We went back and forth with Nissan corporate again to get the recall assessment done so that we could know if this was affecting why we needed a new part that shouldnt need to be replaced so early.... but we were denied again. Recently, I had to sell my 2025 Kia Niro back to the dealer because I received several warnings including: P090B78. The Niro would not accelerate, often jerked forward, and veered to the left. After almost a year of complaints, they finally agreed to buy the car back and I leased the Kia Sportage. The Niro needed a huge amount of work, though they wouldn't tell me what was replaced ultimately. I'm thankful a serious accident hasn't occurred yet because of this distraction but if it does Jeep will be taking responsibility. I have called a jeep dealership and states jeep is saying sorry about you, absolutely unacceptable. Excessive engine oil consumption causing fouled spark plugs engine stalling. Engine was replace due to defective rod bearings at 98 000 mile under warranty and recall. Engine now ha 130,000 miles piston rings have failed. Stalled on busy freeway almost causing mutual crash.I have an appointment at the Hyundai delership October 28th 2015.
