Because of these symptoms and the risk of complete engine failure or loss of motive power, the vehicle became unsafe to drive and was parked. The problem poses a serious safety risk, as the loss of power occurred suddenly while the vehicle was in motion, which could cause an accident if it happens in traffic. The problem has not yet been repaired because the manufacturer has not released the full recall remedy. I called the Nissan Dealership in Greeneville TN, at 8:53 AM EST on 11/08/2025 the vehicle is currently parked at my residence. I was advised by the dealership to call back on Monday morning to schedule an inspection at a Nissan dealership. Their tech could not duplicate. From October 2024 until June 2025, this same behavior occurred 2-4 times, all without CELs. June 2025: Truck taken to local dealership with symptom list, only now occurring more frequently. At my insistence, I asked the dealer to involve Ford Engineering, to diagnose, and to compel Ford to honor the active full warranty still in place. This unresolved issue began October 2024. The dealer had the truck for over a month, and said he could not proceed further in diagnosing unless Ford authorized warranty payment for labor and parts. No progress was made, and it was told to me I HAVE TO CONTACT FORD and push, because the dealer is an independent shop, not Ford proper. I took the truck away and drove, to allow possible worsening, or some other code to be recorded or CELs to show. October 2025: Truck violentlt downshifted without acceleration or deceleration from 35 mph to almost )mph, skidding and fishtailing, going into limp mode, and I was almost rear ended by following traffic...since brakes were not activated to cause this. Truck went immediately into limp mode, and would not now engage PARK. I turned it off, restarted, and transmission would hardly go into DRIVE. Vehicle was part of the NHTSA 24V077 recall for faulty valve springs and took into dealership in April 2024 and engine was not replaced as it was listed as ok. Subsequently took for other recalls and maintenance, each time the vehicle was released back. ... ven back. Noise was still evident so I tightened and in mid August, noise got worse and could feel while driving. Took in 29 Aug 2025 for oil change and mentioned noise. At this point after 6 or more visits, Kia flagged the vehicle under 24V077 and directed engine change saying unsafe to drive. So they allowed me to drive 30K miles and finally replaced engine which was performing satisfactory. The rear end noise was determined to be rear differential which was replaced, noise remained, techline case opened, shocks changed, noise remained, Field engineer visit scheduled 6 weeks out then canceled with direction to change rear cross member which was changed, noise still there. Now existing case re-opened with request for another engineer to visit. More money spent in rear end repairs which noise started in April 2025, then the cost of engine replacement which has only 65 miles all by dealership. Vehicle at dealership since 29 August 2025. Not confident engine replacement is satisfactory as fuel pump also required replacement and the inability to fix rear end is keeping from checking engine replacement is fixed. Wife no longer feels safe ever driving this vehicle again. Furthermore, Kia put us at risk by failing to direct dealership to change engine in April 2024 and all subsequent visits before finally flagging. My guess is lack of new engines available and did not want me to wait so allowed us to continue to drive extra miles and addl time took out of state Lemon Law timeframe likely. The driver door on my 2021 Toyota RAV4 has an automatic unlock feature that unlocks the door when you approach the car with the key in your pocket. This feature has malfunctioned to the point that I cannot open the door at all, even with the key fob. I’m told this malfunction is the result of a faulty door actuator, and repairs would cost over $300. I’m also told it’s a common bug among RAV4’s from 2018 to 2024. It seems there’s no recall because Toyota is under the impression that it isn’t common enough. I go and pick it up and they state they completely inspected and drove multiple times there is nothing going wrong. I take the car and drive it for 3 mins around the block then park the car engine shuts off on its own but everything is still on message states engine stopped power steering low. Took it back the dealership has no idea what’s going wrong. This is a concern because it can happen while driving and the car will stop on its own and cause an accident. When it got back to Kia they told me I had a bad engine without checking it . They said I don’t qualify for the warranty because I am not the first owner . ... efly. Of a visual inspection he said that the brake pads looked good, but your brakes are hitting the ground. He charged me a diagnosis. I told him to check to see if there are any recalls active, he said I do see a recall, but this doesn’t have anything to do with your car. The next day I heard from the service manager told me I have an update. I have attached the diagnosis of my car. This is what they say needs to be repaired in my vehicle. I asked my service advisor questions about how related the recalled part was to the issue. You can see the conversation in the pictures. At this point, I created a case with you all when he started to argue over terminology. I had a conversation on the phone with Jose and my service advisor later where they then told me that there is no recall that is showing up. I said I need to look over this because I saw a recall there. I verified this and messaged the advisor back. There were no further conversation conversations over the phone. Everything was done over messages and you can see them below. I was being threatened to be charged storage fees. And they said that they performed the recall, but the car was not confirmed to be in drivable condition. I did not go by to pick the car up. I called corporate numerous times. I was told on one day any additional information from text messages is not needed. Until Alicia gave me the email and said to please send over the info. I called the corporate office, the corporate office did not do anything to solve the situation. My car is still not drivable condition. Power steering seems to have a defect. There have been other Dodge Rams affected by a power steering recall. When we called our local Dodge service provider they stated that our VIN was not affected by this recall, but there is definitely something wrong with our power steering. This will allow water ingress into the vehicle, possibly damaging components and equipment. With the correction of remove and reseal the roof-mounted antenna housing. During the service call, the technician confirmed this defect caused the issue. I contacted BMW and they refused to completely cover the repair stating it is not a safety issue. I disagree, I purchased the vehicle with advanced safety features. My wife travels with the car to rural areas and this feature is critical in her safety in the event of a crash. I feel BMW should cover the repair and that this issue is a safety concern for those who rely on an advanced safety calling system purchased with the car. ... iagnosed with crankshaft failure. The dealer discovered metal shavings in the engine oil and oil filter, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The replacement engine was ordered, and the vehicle was repaired. After the engine replacement, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle felt difficult to operate. Additionally, while the vehicle was parked and turned off, the vehicle failed to restart and lost motive power without any warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, who found that the metal bar located near the battery was very loose. The mechanic also informed the contact that due to the prior crankshaft failure, the transfer fuse box, starter motor, and battery had failed and required replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that upon inspecting the replacement engine, the manufacturer’s sticker indicated that the engine was a remanufactured engine, and there was dirt and debris on the engine. We received notification from Ford that there is a "rear axle bolt fracture" possible on our 2021 Ford Explorer and noted we were to contact our dealer to address. However when I reached out to the dealership (and then subsequently to Ford Customer Service) I was told that the issue was being treated on an "extended warranty" basis. Based on those calls, my wife could be left on the side of the road, involved in a fatal accident (to her or others) etc., instead of addressing the issue as a preventive measure. In addition, nothing in our coversations or in their notice involved the cost to us for additional damage to the vehicle, towing or a rental car (as the dealership said they wouldn't even be able to order the bolts until the fracture occurred and they had the vehicle in their shop. The service code for this defect is 24N01. As of this date we have not experianced this issue but am trying to avoid it occurring since it is a known defect by Ford.Read more
