My 2022 Kia Telluride is experiencing several serious safety-related defects. The backup camera does not work, the second-row bucket seats fold up on their own while driving, and the electronic parking brake becomes stuck on and will not disengage. The transmission hesitates and shifts harshly, creating a risk during acceleration and lane changes. The engine is consuming oil between changes. The h
... eating and air conditioning stop working when the vehicle is idling at stoplights, and electrical components including the front phone charger and heated passenger seat have failed. The exterior window trim is deteriorating. These issues are ongoing and have not been resolved by Kia. Several of these failures match known defect and recall categories. These create a significant crash and safety risk for my family. I am requesting investigation and manufacturer action.Read more

My 2019 Audi E-tron has experienced two major issues during my ownership. At around 87k miles, I was driving into a parking lot and suddenly a “electrical malfunction” warning light appeared on my dashboard followed my many warning lights including 4wd, brake system, and battery. The vehicle was not moving properly and I had to slowly move it into a parking lot and had it towed to the dealersh
... ip. The issue was that the front motor is toasted caused by coolant leaking into the motor. The second issue occurred around 109k miles. My vehicle couldn’t start in a parking lot and the same “Electrical Malfunction” warning light went on. The vehicle was towed to Audi dealership and the diagnosis was a failing SX6 battery control module, which costed me over $8000 to repair. Those two issues both make the vehicle unmovable and could be catastrophic if they occur at high speed. There are numerous complaints from Reddit and E-tron forum regarding the same two issues. Both issues involved moisture getting into critical electrical components and could put the safety of passengers and other vehicles on the road in danger. The Audi USA has extended the warranty for the motor issue but hasn’t done anything regarding the SX6 modules. The vehicle’s electrical motors and HV battery should be closely inspected since those issues are prevalent and could be related to serious design flaws from factory. Audi USA hasn’t addressed those issues properly and it didn’t have a proper fix for its self discharging battery as well, which puts this vehicle unsafe to operate on the road.Read more

Incident date: Nov 30, 2025
On November 28, 2025 at approximately 2:20am, I was involved in a multi-car pile up crash on Interstate 85 south near Durham NC. At least 5 vehicles were involved and significantly damaged. At least two drivers were taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Fortunately I was not one of them. I was driving in the left lane of the 2 lane southbound interstate. It happened right in front of me and I
... had no chance of completely avoiding it so I veered to my left onto the shoulder to attempt to avoid a direct hit on the large Nissan SUV that was now straddling both lanes. I hit the front of the Nissan and the guardrail almost simultaneously at somewhere around 50 to 60mph which caused considerable damage to the front right quadrant and the entire drivers side of my vehicle, but my airbags never deployed and I sustained moderate to significant injury to my arms, shoulders, chest and neck, most likely due to how I was gripping the steering wheel in anticipation of the impact and from the seat belt. I did not require medical treatment at the scene but have since received treatment at home. I believe the airbags should have deployed given my speed at impact and where my vehicle came in contact with both the Nissan SUV as well as the guardrail. I believe this was a clear failure of the airbag system in my vehicle, which has since been deemed to be totaled by my insurance company.Read more

... ng a major safety risk to myself and others. Component that failed: The dealer confirmed a constant misfire in Cylinder #2, caused by a burned spark-plug electrode. The misfire was present almost continuously. All four spark plugs had to be replaced. The failure is available for inspection and is documented in the most recent work order. Safety risk: Yes. The loss of power happened suddenly at freeway speeds, almost causing an accident. I had to drive with hazard lights on and crawl to the slow lane to avoid a collision. Confirmed by dealer: Yes. Mercedes-Benz of Fresno reproduced and confirmed the misfire, performed diagnostics, inspected all cylinders, ran a compression test, verified the burned electrode, and documented the engine misfire on the repair invoice. Inspected by manufacturer/service center: Yes. This was inspected by the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership technicians. The issue has occurred alongside ongoing electronic/driver-assistance malfunctions reported since early ownership. Warning lamps/messages prior to failure: Yes. The check-engine light was flashing right before the loss of power. Previous issues with drivability, acceleration hesitation, and electronic faults have occurred multiple times before this incident.Read more

... res. Immediately after the recall work, all exterior lights, interior lights, and trailer lights began flickering on and off while driving. The windshield wipers also pause or stop for a moment when this happens. None of these issues existed before the recall. This appears to be a module reset or corrupted calibration caused during the recall reprogramming. GM has already told NHTSA that they have hundreds of field complaints about flickering headlamps on 2024 trucks, and they identified lighting flicker as a safety defect. My symptoms match those issues exactly. The dealer refuses to accept responsibility, saying the recall is “closed,” but the electrical failure only began immediately after their programming. This is a safety hazard when driving at night or in the rain, and it affects the trailer braking/lighting circuits as well. I have an active GM case opened for this issue. The truck is unsafe to operate in this condition. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the recall programming is causing electrical module failures and whether additional action is needed.Read more

At this stage, Metro Kia does not have any further recourse for warranty coverage." My kia was stalling on the highway, complete oil loss where it was bone dry which led to engine failure. How did the vehicle "PASS" when EVERYTHING from the description of the recall is EXACTLY what happened to me? This is absolutely wild that Kia is refusing to do anything about this vehicle. It is a 2021, with 65,000 miles on it. The repairs are over 13K and I am being told I would get nothing for the car if I traded it in because it is worth nothing. I am reporting a safety defect on my 2013 Kia Sorento (VIN: [XXX] ). Before the failure, the vehicle began experiencing sluggish starting, sputtering during acceleration, stalling when stopped at traffic lights or stop signs, a noticeable fuel odor, and eventually a check engine light. These symptoms increased over several days, and once the check engine light illuminated, we had the vehicle towe
... d to a Kia dealership for diagnosis. At the dealership, the problem was confirmed and reproduced by their technicians. They diagnosed: •Fuel leakage from the high-pressure fuel pressure regulator •Fuel contamination in the engine oil These components and diagnostic findings are available for inspection upon request. This issue poses a significant safety risk. Fuel leakage and fuel-in-oil contamination increase the potential for an engine fire, and the hesitation, sputtering, and stalling at intersections present a risk of unexpected loss of power in traffic, which could result in a collision. The vehicle previously had its engine replaced under a Kia recall in 2020, and the current symptoms are consistent with known Kia engine and fuel system defects addressed in past recalls and technical service bulletins. The vehicle has been inspected only by the dealership so far; it has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Kia Consumer Affairs has been contacted and is reviewing the case. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential defect trend involving the high-pressure fuel system on this model, especially in vehicles with prior recall-related engine replacements. Documentation from the dealership, including the diagnostic report and repair estimate, is available upon request. While driving my 2017 Ford Escape, which only has 75k miles on it, a red warning light came on indicating an engine problem and to pull over safely. I was at a red light at a busy intersection when this happened. When it turned green I started driving trying to get into a parking lot safely. My car sputtered and stopped. Luckily I was able to get it into the parking lot. It turns out, after
... going to the Ford dealership, that it needs a new short block engine due to coolant intrusion, which is a now known design flaw. There was a CSP (recall) 21N12 for this issue for Ford Escapes built at the Louisville, KY plant. My car was built there, and meets/met all the requirements of the CSP, but for some reason was not included in the CSP. I am not sure why. I have reached out to Ford, but they are doing nothing to assist. How has there been nothing else regarding this issue? It is a known design flaw, and Ford isn't being held accountable for it. There are so many people that are affected by this and having to pay up to $10,000 out of pocket for a repair that Ford should be covering!Read more

My 2017 Kia Sorento is experiencing significant engine issues, including excessive oil consumption and ongoing oil leaks. The Kia dealership initially told me I qualified for an oil-consumption test that could result in a free engine replacement if the results met the criteria. After inspecting the vehicle, they refused to perform the test because they said it was ‘leaking too much oil,’ charg
... ed me $600 for a gasket, but the vehicle still leaks and burns oil. Now the dealership claims the engine is not covered and wants $5,000 for a replacement, despite previously stating testing could qualify me for a free engine. This appears to be a common issue with Kia GDI engines and a safety concern due to risk of engine failure and fire. I believe Kia is improperly denying required testing and coverage, and I request NHTSA review this pattern. I included the invoice fr the gasket repair and pictures from the oil change I got last week showing pictures of it still leaking oil despite the repair at Kia.Read more

Beginning at approximately 750 miles on a brand-new 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX, the vehicle experienced a flashing Check Engine Light accompanied by severe shaking while driving, rough idling, loss of power, and loud engine/exhaust noise. The vehicle became difficult and unsafe to operate due to the vibration and reduced drivability. These symptoms appeared suddenly on November 22, less than three
... weeks after purchase. The vehicle was taken to the dealership on November 24. Their technician retrieved diagnostic codes P0300 (Random Misfire) and P0304 (Cylinder #4 Misfire) and identified a failed ignition coil on Cylinder #4. The coil was replaced, and the dealership reported the issue resolved. However, less than 24 hours later, with the vehicle still under 800 miles, the exact same symptoms reoccurred: heavy shaking while driving, vibration while idling, loss of power, and unstable engine operation. This indicates the underlying issue may be more serious than a single coil failure. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership, and the vehicle is currently back in their possession for further inspection. A loaner vehicle was issued because the vehicle was not safe to drive. The sudden shaking, engine misfire, and loss of power created a significant safety risk, especially if this failure were to occur at highway speeds or while turning across traffic. Given the extremely low mileage and recurrence immediately after repair, this may indicate a broader defect affecting engine performance or ignition components in this model. The vehicle remains available for inspection by NHTSA, the manufacturer, or investigators.Read more

I have been leasing this vehicle for approximately 3 years and have experienced constant engine problems; knocking and jolting forward. There have been four safety recalls and I mentioned the engine issues at the dealership. I was told not use the electric engine and keep the car in gas mode. This has not fixed the problem; it jolts forward randomly which is very scary. I only have this one ve

23 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro S AWD (82 kWh LG battery, <25k miles). Vehicle has permanently lost ~25% of usable battery capacity in less than 2 years. At 80% state-of-charge the Guess-O-Meter consistently shows only 200–205 miles (full-range estimate 250–255 miles instead of EPA 275 / real-world 280–300 miles in similar conditions). Multiple dealer-recommended BMS recalibrations (discharge below 1
... 0%, sit overnight, slow-charge to 100%) have failed to restore range. Persistent charging faults: B17E0F0 (charge connector lock), P1BF100 (no AC voltage detected), P1CAF00 (zero current time exceeded). Dealer has repeatedly claimed the condition is normal and refused full HV battery capacity diagnostic. Defect has been reproduced on multiple occasions and documented with screenshots and DTCs. This creates a safety risk due to severely inaccurate range prediction and potential for stranding. Request NHTSA investigate premature high-voltage battery degradation and charging system defects in 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 models equipped with LG batteries.Read more
