The vehicle experienced a sudden and catastrophic failure of the powertrain/engine system. Based on dealer inspection, the failure requires complete replacement of the engine long block assembly, indicating an internal engine failure rather than a minor or maintenance-related issue. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others wer
... e placed at significant risk. The vehicle first shut off completely while I was proceeding through a four-way stop intersection, forcing me to restart the vehicle while stopped in the middle of the intersection. Later, while driving on a very busy highway, the vehicle again lost power and became completely inoperable. I was barely able to maneuver the vehicle onto the shoulder, narrowly avoiding a collision. The vehicle then would not fully shut off despite multiple attempts, further indicating a serious malfunction. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer, Krebs Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Gibsonia, PA. After diagnostics, the dealer issued a repair estimate calling for full engine long block replacement with an estimated total cost of approximately $13,900, confirming the severity of the failure. The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Jeep dealership listed above. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives to my knowledge. There were no warning lamps, dashboard messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the failure. The shutdowns occurred suddenly and without advance notice.Read more

On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE In for a routine oil change and tire rotation to Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton , Ohio. The Service Department Rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again NOT TO PARK IN MY GARAGE OR PLUG THE VECHILE IN DUE TO FIRE RISK. In doing some internet searching, it seems it could have something to do with the transition from electric to gas when I was stopped temporarily at the intersection. This is especially dangerous in construction zones with temporary lanes marked by reflectors, including when driving next to large trucks. I have experienced multiple near-miss incidents and have had to physically override the steering wheel to remain in my lane. I am filing this complaint regarding an open and unresolved safety recall on my Nissan LEAF (NHTSA Recall No. 25V-655). Nissan has instructed owners not to use Level 3 (DC fast) charging via the CHAdeMO connector due to a risk of rapid battery overheating and potential fire. As of today, no remedy is available. This recall renders my vehicle unusable for its intended and advertised purpose. I pur
... chased this vehicle specifically for frequent long-distance travel between Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC to visit family. Safe and reliable access to DC fast charging is essential for this use case. Without fast-charging capability, the vehicle cannot complete these trips in a practical or safe manner. As a direct result of this unresolved recall and Nissan’s instruction not to fast-charge, I am unable to use my vehicle for these trips and have been forced to rent a car at my own expense. This is not a minor inconvenience; it is a material loss of functionality and utility. The vehicle is effectively limited to short, local driving only, which is not how it was marketed or how I purchased it to be used. Nissan has acknowledged the safety defect but has provided no timeline for a fix. The ongoing delay places an unreasonable burden on owners and leaves me with a vehicle that cannot be used as intended for an indefinite period. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter for timely remedy enforcement and assess whether Nissan’s delay in providing a repair constitutes a failure to address a safety defect in a reasonable timeframe. Owners should not be left with a vehicle that cannot safely perform its core, advertised function while bearing ongoing financial harm.Read more

Kia Consumer Affairs declined to escalate the matter for District Parts & Service Manager review and directed the owner back to the dealership. I took it to First Class Halt and they found some code they had never seen. They cleared the code and 2 days later it started up with the same thing. I took it to Hendrick Honda and they also just cleared a code. A few days later it started all over making the car undriveable at least in a safe manner with full control over the brakes. [XXX] I stopped at a stoplight and was sitting with my foot on the brake. With light still red, vehicle went full throttle and began pushing me into the intersection even though my foot had never left the brake. I shifted to neutral and still redlined. Shifted to park and shut off. Restarted and it went back to normal. Luckily it was early morning and I was in a rural community and light traffic.
... Went home and called Ram dealership and took truck in that day. They kept it several days. Said was showing a code error; but I reiterated it pushed me into the intersection while I continued to pushed the brake to the floor. They did find an inconsistent reading in throttle and replaced the throttle body. I had hoped that corrected the problem and had no issue until [XXX]. [XXX] Left my farm in morning heading for Kansas City for supplies. Pulled onto shoulder of entrance ramp to doublecheck my route before entering the busy highway and rush hour traffic. As I was sitting there with my foot on the brake - same problem. Throttle redlined and (with my foot on the brake) truck began pushing me off the shoulder and down an embankment. Luckily I was an experienced driver and immediately switched it into park and shut it off. Waited a minute then restarted & no issue. Immediately called dealership back and took it in. They tested for a couple days but said it wasn’t showing ‘a code’ so there was really nothing they could do. I said this is huge safety risk to all & both incidents c hold have easily been lethal. They said they sent inquiry to ram but heard nothing. Said I needed to reach out to ram; which I did. I’ve heard nothing other than they assigned a case number & said ‘someone will call’.
