Catastrophic Loss of Motive Power and Power Steering at Road Speed Following Recall 68C Update. Description: On February 6, 2026, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (Mileage: 24,947) suffered a catastrophic safety failure while in motion on a public roadway. This occurred about 25 hours after the vehicle was "cleared" by a dealership for Recall 68C (NHTSA Recall 25V-741). While driving at approximately 25
... /30 MPH in Electric Mode, the vehicle suddenly displayed a "Service Transmission" warning and a red high-voltage "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" error. The vehicle immediately lost all motive power and entered a "Limp Mode" (Turtle icon) that restricted speed to under 5 MPH. Simultaneously, the vehicle lost power steering and displayed errors for "Service Shifter," "Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable," and "Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Unavailable." I was forced to drift the unpowered vehicle across lanes of traffic into a shoulder without power steering where another vehicle almost hit me. The vehicle revved excessively but would not provide propulsion. After a hard restart, I was able to move the vehicle at 20 MPH to a safe location, where it was subsequently towed to the dealership. This failure occurred after the manufacturer assured me the vehicle was safe following the Recall 68C software update. This is a life-threatening defect that caused a total loss of control on a live roadway. I am requesting a formal investigation into the effectiveness of the 68C software remedy. I have video and photos of the dashboardRead more

In January 2026, my wife was driving our 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid EX downhill in traffic when the hybrid system failed without warning. Cabin filled with smoke, lost steering control, and explosion shook the vehicle. She was surrounded by other vehicles and could have been killed or caused multi-car crash. COMPONENT FAILURE: Dealership diagnosed hybrid system failure after 2.5 weeks. Vehicle at de
... alership awaiting repair. Failed components available for inspection. SAFETY RISK: Zero steering control downhill surrounded by traffic. Smoke impaired visibility. Explosion posed fire risk. Life-threatening danger to occupants and other motorists. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Yes, confirmed by dealership. Repair pending. WARNING SYMPTOMS: None. Instantaneous catastrophic failure. CRITICAL ISSUE: I discovered Kia issued service campaigns for 2024 Sportage Hybrids directly related to this failure: Service Campaign SC322 (January 2025) - Hybrid Control Unit software failure affecting 2023-2025 Sportage Hybrids built Feb 2022-Jul 2024 12V Battery Overcharge Campaign - Battery Management System overcharging causing loss of motive power and "Check Hybrid System Stop Safely" warnings SC319 (NHTSA 24V-422) - Motor-Driven Power Steering contaminated circuit board causing loss of power steering Never notified of campaigns despite being owner since May 2024. NHTSA shows zero recalls, falsely indicating safety. By classifying defects as "voluntary service campaigns" instead of safety recalls, Kia avoided mandatory federal notifications. My wife drove with multiple known defects Kia failed to disclose. Vehicle under 2 years old, within warranty. This catastrophic failure and notification failure warrants NHTSA investigation. There was smoke and we called 911 and the fire department came out.Read more

This issue presents a serious safety concern. During the initial occurrence, the vehicle was unable to sustain highway speeds for extended periods (approximately 10 minutes or more). When coming to a stop, the vehicle would shake, rev unexpectedly, lose power, and shut off completely. During these events, the vehicle would not accelerate, creating a hazardous situation, especially in traffic. The
... condition has since worsened. The same symptoms now occur upon starting the vehicle and during the warm-up period, increasing the risk of sudden engine shutdown without warning. Additionally, a distinct “gulping” sound is coming from the rear of the vehicle, raising concern that the fuel system may be compromised. No diagnostic or pending fault codes are present, and the local dealership has been unable to identify the cause. The vehicle has fewer than 100,000 miles. Due to the unpredictable loss of power and engine shutdown, this issue poses an immediate safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists.Read more

While driving under normal conditions, the vehicle suddenly became unstable and difficult to control. Steering response was abnormal, and the vehicle did not behave as expected, creating a loss of stability and control. The incident occurred without warning and required the vehicle to be towed. This event raised serious safety concerns, as the vehicle appeared prone to instability and unsafe oper

Despite prior repairs, the unsafe condition persisted and culminated in this incident. The manufacturer was notified of the ongoing defects and safety concerns but did not provide corrective resolution beyond referring the vehicle back to dealership service.Read more

I own a Nuna RAVA child car seat that was subject to a voluntary safety recall. My original car seat was purchased in the color “Caviar.” As part of the recall remedy, Nuna provided a replacement seat cover kit in a different color that does not match the original product I purchased. Nuna has confirmed to me in writing that they currently manufacture and ship the Caviar color, but has stated
... that I am not allowed to receive my original color as part of the recall remedy and that consumers do not get to choose their replacement color. This means the recall remedy does not restore my product to a safe and substantially equivalent condition as originally purchased. I paid for a specific product configuration, and Nuna is refusing to provide an equivalent replacement despite having the original color available. I should not be forced to accept a materially different product in order to correct a safety defect, nor should I have to choose between using an unsafe recalled product and accepting a non-equivalent replacement. I sent Nuna a formal written request for an equivalent replacement or refund, and they have failed to resolve the issue or respond appropriately. I am filing this complaint because the manufacturer’s recall remedy appears inadequate and does not fully restore the product to its original condition.Read more

While attempting a left-hand turn, the steering wheel suddenly became stiff and unresponsive, as if the mechanical gear had bound. This sudden resistance made it impossible to complete the turn, causing the vehicle to strike a curb at low speed. A post-accident inspection at Lee Johnson Mazda (RO# 649854) confirmed extensive damage, including a bent inner tie rod, a damaged front wheel bearing/hub
... assembly, and wheel/tire damage totaling over $6,500. The dealership stated no electronic fault codes were present in the computer, but the physical behavior matches the 'sticky steering' symptoms currently under federal investigation for other Mazda models (Recall 24V022 / RQ26002). I believe a mechanical failure in the steering gear caused the collision.Read more

Newnan Peachtree Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram: The dealership initially identified the recall-related failure but subsequently "deleted operations" from my service record. By deleting the recall codes, the dealer successfully billed my third-party extended warranty for a transmission replacement. This allowed th

My vehicle was returned to me still exhibiting grinding noises, which is a known precursor to sudden power loss on the highway. During the unauthorized warranty work and a concurrent oil change, the engine oil cooler was damaged. I am reporting a safety issue involving a Cybex Eternis S child car seat. The seat was manufactured on 02/28/2020 and has a printed expiration date of 02/25/2030, indicating a 10 year usable life. Cybex customer service co

Cybex also confirmed that no replacement part is available and no repair or remedy is offered. I later discovered that NHTSA has an open investigation identified as PE24024 concerning Jeep Gladiator engine fires which notes that the fires reported to NHTSA for this vehicle originated at the power steering pump electrical connector - coinciding with the finding of Fire Cause Analysis.
