Door Latches freeze in cold temps and prevent my doors from latching closed. I held an extended warranty on my vehicle and reported to my local dealership, but they would not repair since I could not replicate the issue after the fact. The newer models of my vehicle have this listed as a recall item, but they fail to recognize that the same thing is happening to my vehicle.

While driving my Ram Rebel 2020, the eTorque alternator failed, causing the vehicle to lose electrical power and forcing me to be towed. This posed a serious safety risk, including potential loss of power assist for steering and braking. The issue was addressed only by purchasing a replacement eTorque alternator part through eBay at approximately four times the normal price, because Ram is curren

I believe this represents a safety defect, as sudden alternator failure can cause stalling and reduce essential safety functions while driving. I am reporting this so that NHTSA can investigate the reliability of the eTorque alternator system and prevent future incidents.Read more

The SRS spiral cable assembly (clock spring), located directly behind the driver's instrument display in the steering column, is producing an intermittent crackling noise. The component is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: The clock spring is a safety-critical component responsible for airbag deployment, horn operation, and steering wheel controls. A malfunctioning clock spring
... can cause airbag non-deployment in a collision or inadvertent airbag deployment while driving. The intermittent nature of the malfunction suggests internal ribbon cable contact or thermal expansion failure within the SRS circuit, which may worsen over time. The problem has not been confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle has been brought to Lexus of Jacksonville, a Lexus authorized service center, on 3 occasion(s). On each visit the dealer was unable to reproduce the noise and closed the repair order without repair. The noise is intermittent, occurring after approximately 60–90 minutes of continuous highway driving, lasting 10–15 seconds before stopping. It occurs with the steering wheel straight and during turns of varying degrees. The thermal onset pattern is consistent with internal SRS spiral cable component failure under heat soak conditions. The vehicle has been inspected by the Lexus authorized dealer only. Two audio recordings of the crackling sound were provided to the dealer with confirmation from the service foreman the crackling noise is heard. No independent inspection has been performed to date. There are no warning lamps or dashboard messages associated with this malfunction. The only symptom is the audible crackling noise originating from the steering column clock spring location. The noise first appeared at approximately 700 miles and has occurred on multiple occasions since.Read more

I am reporting a safety-related electrical failure involving the heated steering wheel system in a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. While driving, the heated steering wheel malfunctioned and produced smoke from the steering wheel area. This created an immediate safety concern due to the presence of smoke and the potential for electrical overheating or fire in a critical driver control component. This was not a

Despite that repair, the failure recurred in late 2025 with more severe symptoms, including overheating and damage to electrical components. The vehicle was taken out of service for repair, and the total time out of service related to this issue was approximately 115 days due to parts delays and repair time. The problem was confirmed and repaired by authorized dealerships, including replacement of the steering wheel and related electrical components. There were no meaningful warning indicators prior to the failure. The issue occurred during normal operations. The repeated failure of the same system, combined with smoke and electrical malfunction in the steering wheel, raises concern about a potential defect that could pose a safety risk to drivers and passengers.Read more

They tried to put out the fire but the car burnt completely due to the gasoline. No one was hurt, thank goodness. There were no active lawsuits that I could find to get some compensation for this loss. We had to pay our high deductible and lost personal belongings in the car. This car did have an ongoing oil consumption issue. We had to replace the oil more frequently than normally required and it used much more oil than normal. We were told we had to wait for engine failure to get any kind of resolution.Read more

I am filing this complaint because my Volkswagen Tiguan has a serious and ongoing engine issue involving excessive oil consumption and a faulty cylinder head. The vehicle burns through an abnormal amount of oil between changes, requiring constant top‑offs, sometimes as frequently as every few hundred miles. Despite regularly adding oil and following all manufacturer‑recommended maintenance, th
... e issue continues to worsen. The dealership has confirmed that the cylinder head is defective, which is causing the engine to consume oil at an extremely accelerated rate. However, I have been told the replacement cylinder head is on national backorder, and there is currently no estimated timeframe for when the part will be available. This means I am forced to continue driving a vehicle with a known, documented engine defect that can: Lead to engine stalling Create loss of power while driving Increase the risk of engine seizure Potentially cause a safety hazard on the road Additionally, being required to constantly add oil just to keep the vehicle operable is not only unsafe but financially unreasonable. The problem remains unresolved despite multiple service visits, documentation, and repeated oil consumption tests. This is a safety issue, not just a maintenance concern, because the engine can fail unexpectedly if the oil drops too quickly. I believe this is a significant defect affecting multiple Volkswagen vehicles and should be investigated by NHTSA. I request that NHTSA open a formal investigation into the excessive oil consumption and cylinder head defects on Volkswagen Tiguans, as owners should not be left with unsafe vehicles due to known manufacturing issues and unavailable critical engine components.Read more

And 1 or 2 other codes. But they didnt know exactly what was wrong. I had my oil changed 1 more time to see if maybe that was the issue. It did not fix the issue. I am attaching a dealership diagnostic e-Report for my 2013 Kia Optima from 2024. While the report lists “No Current DTC” for several systems, it also documents multiple “Communication Fail” errors across critical modules, including Smart Key, Head Lamp, Air Conditioner, Brake, and other systems. These communication failures indicate a broader electrical or network issue within the vehicle, not simply a failed battery. The report also shows that certain diagnostic scans were not properly performed. Additionally, there are historical fault codes related to TPMS and weight classification systems, further supporting that the vehicle has experienced ongoing electrical issues. Despite these findings, the dealership attributed the vehicle failure solely to a bad battery and did not provide a current battery diagnostic test. They also failed to address an open recall related to electrical/fuse issues prior to this failure. Based on this past diagnostic report, I believe the root cause of my vehicle’s failure is an unresolved electrical defect, potentially related to the outstanding recall, rather than normal battery wear. This has resulted in my vehicle becoming inoperable and poses a serious safety concern.Read more

Incident Date,March 07, 2026] Current Mileage, 31625 miles I am reporting a catastrophic structural failure of a safety-critical suspension component on my Tesla Model Y. This has caused a significant safety hazard

Furthermore, when I contacted Tesla Service, they demonstrated extreme negligence by instructing me to drive the vehicle in this lethal condition to their service center. They also initially refused to cover the towing and repair costs, claiming it was not a factory defect despite the clear evidence of fastener failure (improper torque or thread locker application during manufacturing). This is a clear manufacturing defect that poses an immediate threat to the driver, passengers, and other road users. Had technician pull plug four and used a boriscope and found coolant leaking into engine. Ford has a known TSB for coolant intrusion on this particular model and vin and manufacturing date. Ford refuses
... to help me with cost to replace the long block of the engine at a cost of $7000, out of my pocket. I have not even put a thousand miles on this car. This is completely wrong of Ford to do this to customer fully knowing there is a problem but won't pay to fix it.Read more

... y charged and tested battery and found battery tests bad, installed tester battery for diagnostic purposes and found engine still wont crank, attempted to rotate engine via crank pulley bolt and pry bar and found engine will not rotate indicating engine is seized due to some sort of internal engine issue, suspect possible connecting rod bearing failure but cannot confirm without significant engine disassembly. - This issue (apparently its a widely known problem on this engine and there is an active recall campaign developing): Acura MDX 2016 has a recall but my VIN # is not showing up in it. However, I strongly believe it is the same issue and Acura should expand their recall to include more vehicles, including my own.Read more

There is a recall for earlier models regarding "break clunk." The parking break, when sitting overnight in cold or wet environments, makes a loud bang noise when going into motion for the first time. The parking break seems to be sticking to something.

When moving forward at very slow speed, the steering wheel bounces as if it had been hit by something and we hear a loud "thunk". The whole front end of the car vibrates. This has also happened once while completely stopped at a traffic signal. This has been happening for several months, and we know that others have reported the same problem, but the dealer is unresponsive. We are worried
... that the steering could fail at speed, and are losing confidence in the car.Read more

I called for tow

On Saturday, March 14, 2026 we received a text message from Hyundai indicating there was a recall for the car. The message contained info stating to use caution when using the power seats. There were no instructions regarding what to do and no info regarding the need to contact the dealer. “Use caution” was the message given. A second message was received on March 16 at 8:56 PM with the sam
... e information but also stated there was “No remedy”. Again it was stated to “use caution”. (What is that exactly??). Please note the following incidents: On Monday, March 16 at 4 PM my husband was securing our [XXX] grandchild into the 3rd row seat to his carseat. He was in the backseat to strap him in when the 2nd row seat began to move backward and ultimately trap him. He was unable to get out. I was in the trunk area so I pushed the switch in the cargo area to push the seat forward. There was no response and the seat kept closing in on him. He was being crushed by the seat and his legs were pinned. He recently had a hip replacement. Our grandchild was being crushed with my husband on top of him. We were eventually able to move the seat forward off of my husband. Another grandchild was in a car seat in the second row. The second row seat started to fold down on top of her and I was unable to stop it. The rear facing carseat wedged her between the seats. She was trapped as well. Her legs were pushed up to her shoulders and she was crying. She weighs about 20 pounds. We were unable to move the seat off of her. The carseat remained wedged between the 1st and 2nd rows. We were able to pull her out of the carseat but were unable to get the seat to unfold. See photos That evening we watched the news and noted the story involving the death of a toddler who experienced a malfunction of the seats. Note when we first got the car on 12/22/25 the seats crushed a garbage can(Photo) We now realize why that happened. We contacted the dealer on 3/17, returned car 3/18.
