The problem first started on 8-8-24 when I cranked up my car & the dashboard lit up with all of these different sensors. I called Leith Honda dealership in Aberdeen, due to that is where I take my car to be serviced at, my customer service rep (Brian) stated to wait to see if they would stay on, because of that type of car will reset itself. So, a few days had gone by & in the middle of driving on the highway while going 60 mph, all of the same sensors came back on & the car would not go over 40 mph due to one of the main sensors stating "Emission System Problem. Avoid Heavy Acceleration & High Speed. See Your Dealer." Along with my 21MONTH old baby in the car! DANGEROUS! My job (travel CNA) requires me to travel from facility to facility & I need my car to be reliable. The rep said it really sounds like the recall part that is going bad in my car needs to be replaced & until it stays on sticks; there is nothing that can be done. I beg to defer! Is it going to take for me to get into a car accident & jeopardize my daughter & I safety in order for the part to be replaced, after what the recall notification states that can be done while operating the vehicle. Along with the recall stating that they are only willing to replace the part for free if the car is potentially life threating or inoperable. The fact that they are taking their time replacing these parts is dangerous or mindful at all. I love my car, but I am not willing to put my daughter's life, or mine nor anyone else's life in danger by continuing driving this car and still having to pay for it. I am writing to report a serious safety issue with my Nissan Leaf that needs immediate attention. On two separate occasions, the brakes have failed completely without any warning while driving. A warning light appeared, stating "T/M System Malfunction Warning - See Dealer," but by that time, the brakes had already stopped working. The second time, the car crashed into the side of my garage and hit a tree stump in my driveway, causing damage to the rear of the car and breaking the side mirror. I was fortunate enough to engage the emergency brake before the car entered the road, but it was a terrifying experience that could have ended much worse. Fortunately, did not happen while my teenage children and their friends were driving the car. After researching this issue, I was shocked to discover that many other Nissan Leaf owners have experienced similar brake failures dating back to 2012. This is not an isolated incident, and I am deeply concerned that it continues to happen without resolution. When I brought my car to the dealership, they informed me that the issue is related to the Intelligent Brake Unit Controller, and the repairs would cost $5,000. However, my vehicle is only five years old with 62,000 miles, and I believe this defect should be addressed by Nissan, not at the owner's expense. I urge you to take immediate action to investigate this dangerous defect. There is no warning before the brakes fail, and this puts drivers and others on the road at extreme risk. My truck started having issue(s) accelerating properly on-time over the past few months. The issue was only intermittent and occurred sometimes when needing to accelerate quickly in certain scenarios such as turning onto a busy road or merging in high traffic. It would also sometimes downshift very hard when driving at moderate speeds ~40 - 50 mph, and jarred the vehicle so hard it felt like the e

The acceleration issue resulted in several incidents in which I was in danger of being struck by other drivers for being momentarily "dead in the water", but the worst incident occurred when I was attempting to merge into a left lane (9/11/2024) during rush hour in front of an on-coming dump truck; my truck did not accelerate AT ALL and the dump truck had to slam on his breaks and swerve out of the lane, coming extremely close to destroying me at about 45 MPH; had my vehicle accelerated correctly it would have never an issue. I am certain I would have suffered severe injury or death from this incident. I had no warning lights or other indications something was wrong and have no notices from Ford about the issue (see below). I took the truck to Coughlin Ford of Heath (Ohio) and they quoted me over $4000 for the parts and labor stating that cam sprockets need replaced along with re-timing labor. They said there were no active recalls but Coughlin and two other repair shops (one private and one Ford dealership) told me that this is a very common problem with these trucks and that there previously was a Ford customer satisfaction program to have this problem fixed in the past few years. I was NEVER notified of the program despite being the sole owner and only ever taking my truck to dealerships for repair over the past 6 years. I contacted Ford and filed a complaint (ref CXH02678193) but they indicated they would not be helping me despite nearly getting me killed. My out of pocket total was $4619.11 for parts, labor, and a rental car.Read more

The delay increases the likelihood of rear-end collisions and creates dangerous situations, especially in heavy traffic. The problem has been reproduced by a dealer and many other owners have reported the same issue. I'm hoping that Ford has releases Powertrain Control Module (PCM) update aimed at addressing this, but the issue persists for many, including myself after recent PCM updates. The vehicle has been formally inspected by my local Ford dealership. They will be applying a PCM update on 10/10/2024. There were no warning lamps or error messages that appeared before or during the incidents. The problem occurs unexpectedly, usually when I press the accelerator, particularly in Eco or Normal driving modes. The issue has been less frequent in Sport and Tow/Haul modes, but this results in increased fuel consumption, which negates the advantages of the hybrid system.Read more

While driving on my way home from work my , brakes became extremely hard to press down on and then my service engine light came on this all occurred on 7/31/2024. So the very next day I took my vehicle to a Kia dealership which was 8/1/ 2024 to find out what was causing this to happen. The technician stated that they would have to put it on a machine and run a diagnostic on it. I asked the t
... echnician while they were doing that to change the oil. I also realized that the oil light for my vehicle has NEVER came on since I purchased the car. So the technician did the diagnostic and stated that my vacuum pump had went out but he couldn’t tell me why or how this had happened. I then took the vehicle to my parents house and left it there in the garage for a few weeks to have second opinion done. I then took it to another Kia dealership and they stated there was no vacuum to the brake booster and said there was a broken camshaft and metal pieces were in the engine and the engine needed to be replaced. On [XXX] ford premier out of waveland evaluated my car after I had to have it towed in due to overheating. The high temperature warning notification was lock and wouldn't change to normal after it cooled. I was not fully aware of my car overheating due to no warning other the the temperature overheat warning. A couple of days prior without driving it for 10hrs I noticed a moist to the exhaust pipe
... . When it broke down the engine had a misfire, a shake, and had not power to the engine to accelerate. There was 3 different puddles of fluids underneath the car. When I had spoke to the service department on this breakdown I made them aware of everything with one of the Mechanics witnessing the shake within the engine. There was a confusion on my part due to the sticker showing a 1.5l and my Insurance showing through carfax a 2.5l with also Descripting a 1.5l that showed for my car to be compatible to a 2.0l, 1.6l Installation of coolant system, that of which lead me to request recalls through Vin# on [XXX] through Verified and it was shown to be compatible for recall. Premier Ford service department Assured me that nothing was wrong with the coolant system that the power train control module reprogramming took care of the breakdown. He assured me when I picked up my car That nothing was wrong with my car. Except for me needing to go, change the brakes so that he could change the brake hoses that are part of the recall associated with the brakes. This was on [XXX]. On [XXX] I broke down again with the same issue with this time before the breakdown there was a stall when I started my car And when they had my car on [XXX] I asked them the check the Fuel Injections and he stated there was nothing wrong with the fuel injections. My car has shown every sign that shows through the coolant system of a fire hazard. I am requesting that the Department to assign the safety recall 17s09 to my vin# [XXX] .
