While driving up hill in snowy and icy conditions, my engine RPMs suddenly went up to 4000, then quickly back down. When I tried to continue driving, the car would not switch gears. It was stuck in what I think was 5th gear. I was slugging along at about 5mph. At this point I put the car in park, and waited in confusion for about a minute before putting the car back in gear. ... rning lights on my car and nothing else to suggest anything was wrong. I tried to move forward up the steep hill, but the car would not go. I put the car in park again and then switched into reverse instead of drive. At this point I had no option but to back down the narrow icy road. I was driving the going to wrong direction backwards, but it was my only option to get me out of the way of others traffic. The conditions made it more dangerous, but this would have been dangerous on any given day. I was able to back down, get my car to flat ground where I parked, shut the car off, waited about 10 mins, and then turned it back on. After turning it back on I was able to drive the car down to the mechanic shop where they told me that my transmission was bad. In hindsight i should have had it towed, but I'm thankful I made it to the shop safely after the transmission warmed up a little. I'm now waiting 3 or 4 weeks to get a transmission directly from toyota (a $5000 part). The repair in total will cost nearly $8000!! This isn't something I can afford to do, especially near the holidays, but I have no other options as the vehicle isn't worth much in its current condition. I'm very disappointed in Toyota for this one. I expect more from their vehicles.Read more

The failure was immediate which again put my children and I in harms way. This recall is reported on thousands of other 2022-2023 Jeep Wagoneers yet no recall on my vehicle. That recall needs to expand to probably thousands more Wagoneers that are experiencing this failure. Due to this failure it caused the vehicle to be rendered undriveable forcing us to have it towed to a dealership. Furthermore, this thermostat is difficult to get ahold of as dealerships are only allowed to order one a week. Then if you can get a thermostat there are numerous dealerships who have 1-2 plus weeks wait service times. In order to prevent missed appointments, availability in grocery shopping and other errands, we were forced to get a rental car and pay more expenses out of pocket that could have been prevented if we were aware or presented a recall.Read more

The dealership I bought it from, Fowler Volkswagon, and Oklahoma City Volkswagon have both tried to fix the problem. The dealership advised me that it could not be repaired. I submitted my problem to Volkswagon , Case # [XXX], they had me take to dealer again and it could not be fixed. Volkswagon said in their denial letter to help me, "but we are not able to assist in all cases". Yes Recall #91US. The screen was replaced but problem did not stop. I am still forced to a vehicle that is unsafe and a violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111. That nearly resulted in back over of a pedestrian on [XXX]. On November 25, 2024, the dash and infotainment screen went blank while at the traffic light. A few seconds later the car stalled shutting completely off while making a left turn onto Cox Rd in Evans, GA. The infotainment screen has blanked out several times since purchase and this is the second time the vehicle has stalled at a traffic light. After the replacement the noise ceased and the acceleration was much quicker and smoother. As of now, the vehicle has begun making the sound again and is boggy. I have provided nissan with videos and have taken the car on a test drive and the technician did hear the sound but admitted it was faint according to him. I received a text from the technician today 11/26/24 stating the car was great and they drove it multiple times and heard no noise and experienced no power loss. Ford issued a repair note but hasn't recalled this knows safety concern for this mark and model (earlier models with this issue have been recalled to mely knowledge).
