Unfortunately, the fix was temporary as it began to fail again and now leaving me on the road stuck. I drive, I stop at a stop sign or red light, or intersection as I move to turn, car shut off. Almost causing several accidents. I was on the highway when my GPS started glitching and shut off, turn back on and some of my safety icons would stop functioning. I strongly believe this car has major electrical issues that the repair shop cannot seem to find what is actually causing the battery to fail or die. I asked the repair shop for the Multi Vin Summary Report, and I am at total disbelief at the amounts of visits this vehicle has been in the repair shop before I purchased this vehicle. Multiple error messages appeared: Service Advance Trac, Check 4x4, Hill Assist Not Available, ABS, Steering Assist Fault, etc. Power steering assist was lost and is now intermittent which creates a dangerous situation. The ABS brakes made load groaning noises. I went to O’Reilley’s and used their OBD2 s
... canner. It showed codes: U1012-00, U0212-00, U0121-00, P062C-00, all being communication errors. I got a new battery and had a shop scan it. The clockspring was bad so it was replaced with an OEM from Sunrise Ford. He can’t get any communication with any of the other modules. I researched the issues and disconnected the battery while I cleaned the ABS controller connection with electrical contact cleaner. I checked some of the grounding points that weren’t checked by the shop. All of the error messages are now gone except the STEERING ASSIST FAULT. My research showed that this may be related to a wheel speed sensor or the front hub that contains the sensor. It also might be the ABS controller. I entered Engineering Test Mode and have the following continuous DTCs: C40182, C12100, C41582, C42082, C15100, C21200, C42982, C10200. Since they all end in 00 or 82 I think they are likely related. I was told in an online forum that they are communication errors. I think that might apply to the 00 errors, but don’t know about the 82 errors. The truck has under 28,000 miles and the extended warranty expired in May 2024.Read more

Back in late November 2024, Tesla pushed an Over-The-Air (OTA) update to my 2024 Tesla Model Y. Immediately after pushing this OTA, all of my car's cameras stopped working (INCLUDING my rear or "backup" camera). Since the front-facing and side-facing cameras do not work the vehicle's forward and side collision detection systems are inoperable. The vehicle suffers from additional failures (GPS navigation, Maps, Autopilot, among many others). I have presented these issues to Tesla and they have continously pushed out my repair date. I have also asked for a loaner vehicle due to the failure of the car's safety systems (some of which are federally mandated!!). Tesla has ignored my pleas for a loaner vehicle and has also remained silent when I have repeatedly asked to return the vehicle under Washington State lemon laws. My safety and the safety of others have been put at grave risk due to the backup camera and collision detection cameras not working. Tesla has NOT inspected the vehicle as they continuously push my service date further out. No obvious warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms appear. At 85,000mi my transmission failed while driving on the highway. The dealership kept the transmission so it can not be inspected. This was extremely dangerous with my whole family in the car too. No lights illuminated on the dash board just rpm flew up with the vehicle not moving. There were no indications that anything was going to fail. No stored or active codes were detected in the vehicle.

On January 9, a little after 12:30 pm, on Indian Head Highway (MD route 210) northbound near the Manokeek exit, after limiting drive power owing to battery degradation and cold weather (about 30 F) drive power and power steering failed entirely. ... il after I disconnected the 12 v battery and reconnected it after about ten minutes. It would then charge and after a few minutes I checked and it would send power to the wheels and power steering again. The state of charge of the lithium ion battery was about 86% throughout. This was not a failure of the on board 12 v battery charging system or 12 v battery which the tow truck driver tested as good, it is quite new. After the reset of disconnecting the 12 v battery and reconnecting, the terminals show higher voltage when the car is on than when it is off. Attached please find a picture of the warning lights after the car failed. Note that the battery light is for the 12 volt battery but there is nothing wrong with it. Also atteched, voltmeter readings when the car is off and on showing that the 12 volt battery recharging system is working. This car may or may not have an optional battery warmer, but its range of operation is well below the 30 F temperature when the failure occured. While driving approximately 40mph down straight roadway without anything around, the vehicle has unexpectedly slammed on the brakes. This has happened four times to date (11/13/24 - 12/25/24). During two of the instance's lights flashed on the dashboard and indicated the front right corner sensor of vehicle. ... at the rear right corner of vehicle, even though the vehicle was again traveling forward at approx. 40mph. In each case the brakes were unexpectedly applied very hard for several seconds before returning to normal. There were no other vehicles around and no dirt or other obstructions to the sensors. Vehicle was brought into dealer for diagnostics and was told they could not duplicate the concern. I asked the dealership to contact Kia for support and they refused. I then contacted Kia directly asking for assistance in getting this resolved. They responded that they rely on diagnostics from the dealership and only if the dealership can duplicate the issue will anything be done. This is an extremely dangerous drivability issue of which the dealer agrees. But since they have not witnessed it firsthand, no further action is being taken to attempt to find and/or replace whatever part is malfunctioning. In searching the NHTSA website, I see several complaints where individuals have experienced strikingly similar complaints (NHTSA # 11538285, 11485486, 11457515, 11457281, 11589381) with this vehicle.Read more

Kia Sportage 2021- The service department at the dealership ran basic inspection of fault codes and found fault in system for knock sensor and camshaft b position sensor. This information on my vehicle was looked at the dealership I purchased my vehicle, and they do not have the software/special tools to repair/replace timing components and vehicle was towed to Kia dealership. The sunroof headliner came separated from a component and the entire headliner fell.. hitting my child and not allowing me to visibly see while on the interstate. My entire vision behind me was impacted. I had to pull over and eventually just let the whole shade get stuck on the roller in the back section of the sunroof.

My husband was driving on a highway going 55 mph when the engine light came on and then the car completely shut off and died and would not start. It left him stranded on the highway with no shoulder at -35F. Ford now tells me they cant even look at the vehicle to see what is wrong until April 2025.
