Adding to the frustration, there are only about 20 service personnel nationwide, with very few traveling to assist affected owners. This leaves many of us without timely support and forced to pay out of pocket for alternative transportation. I brought it back to dealer I bought it from and their service department confirmed there was coolant in the engine cylinders and a full engine replacement was needed - a condition consistent with Ford's Technical Service Briefing issued in 2019. Ford customer service is unwilling to support the cost of that repair due to the age of the vehicle. Ford has admitted that there was a manufacturing defect in some of their engine line across models. They issued a recall for certain models with this issue, but not for my vehicle. It is insane to me that a car manufacturer, who acknowledges a mistake in production of their engines won't stand behind a vehicle with less than 45,000 miles on the engine.Read more

More recently, I had to replace the entire transmission at 90,000 miles. I have never had a car that needed a totally new transmission under 100,000 miles or at all. The cost of all the unexpected repairs, design incompetencies, and consequences, including having to get a rental car, was around $4,500. The KIA cars from 2010 - 2021 also were not equipped with an engine mobilizer, which increased their rate of theft. This cost me a higher auto insurance bill as a result. It is clear KIA throws their cars together and puts anything they can on the market, then deny any responsibility and just say, "Oh, you don't have a warranty?" As if it's your fault for wanting a basic car to do basic things. Not having a car in the dead of winter with a big storm was pretty scary. That was me in Mississippi in January of 2025. The KIA dealership there in Brandon was almost incapable of repairing it, returning it to me three times and saying it was fine, with me driving off and a warning light coming on or the car saying the engine was now overheating. Made appointment February 7, 2025, Tesla replaced front row seat harness assembly as well as the front row occupancy sensor. ... in. Put the car into neutral and coasted down the road to a local restaurant parking lot. Once safely parked, I opened the hood and my engine was on fire. I ran to the window of the restaurant to get a fire extinguisher and was able to put out the fire quickly. I contacted my insurance carrier and went through the process of repairing the truck. One body shop got it back up and running. Another shop fixed the cosmetic issues. However insurance would only fix the damage from the fire, not the cause of the fire. The truck has been throwing a code stating the EGR Cooler is not functioning properly. Stellantis sent out an independent investigator, however he wasn't allowed to look at the pictures that the body shop took after the incident. Since the truck was put back together and the cosmetic damage was repaired, he couldn't tell the cause of the fire. This EGR Cooler was supposed to be replaced during the recall (NHTSA Campaign # 19V757000), however I don't believe it was. Currently mine is cracked and supposedly the parts are on backorder. We are writing to describe an issue we had with our 2025 Hyundai Tucson PHEV this past [XXX] day We were returning from Bellingham heading south on [XXX]. The Driver Assistance Eyes on the Road notice came on often, making beeps ([XXX] has experienced this message often even though his eyes are definitely on the road). Suddenly, it came on constantly, and then the alert in the center circle on
... the console turned RED and showed a message that said “Take control of your vehicle immediately. Turning engine off. Leave the road” I may not have this quote exactly right, but it’s close. All the time the loud beeping continued. [XXX] did as directed and immediately pulled over unto to the narrow shoulder on the freeway with cars racing past at 70 mph. We had no idea what was going on. He quickly determined that the car was functioning ok so pulled back out onto the highway. I was panicked, but of course [XXX] was calm and in control. He decided to take off his hat and also his glasses (doesn’t need them for driving). Still got the message but not the red alert one we had previously experienced. We stopped for gas before continuing on to the ferry and took the time off the road to access the Driver Attention function in Settings/Vehicle/Driver Assistance/Driver Attention Warning and turned it OFF. We thought that would take care of it, but it still continued to send standard alerts. Since we had waiting time in the ferry line, we searched the internet for clues to this and learned from others that this is a continuing problem. It was determined by one contributor that it is a software issue that Hyundai needs to fix. Another person said it happens when he is driving with both lane assist and cruise control on at same time. PLEASE ADVISE. Is there a solution to this problem? We were put in what we considered to be a dangerous position by an overactive "safety" feature which we could not disable. Since I took delivery of the vehicle the dash goes completely blank at temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90. Ford has been unable or unwilling to fix the problem for over two years resulting in my driving for extended periods with no dashboard information of any kind.
