Chrysler needs to recall this issue. Many people are having this same screen issue. Chrysler, Please do something about this. This has been known to be a safety issue, as when it gets bad enough, the screen will black out. Delamination on screens has been known to cause the screen to black out, especially during backing, and buttons will randomly be pushed. Chrysler, recall this issue. Thank you.

On [XXX], I pulled into a parking space, and the car suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb, and hit the building. This is the second time this happened. It happened when I was parking in May 2022; the car suddenly accelerated and struck a fence. In all my time driving this car, I have never had an issue breaking or parking. There was an immediate surge in both cases, and I am confident that m
... y foot was on the break. In both cases, I did not get any collision warning from the car or emergency braking. I know from experience driving this car that when the vehicle /system determined I was too close to something of danger, I would get a collision warning and an immediate breaking by the vehicle. I reported the issue to the KIA dealership for the first time and wrote a report; they said they had not heard of the problem but would note it. If there had been a person walking when this happened, I am sure serious, if not fatal injuries would be occur. NTSB mandated an OTA to Fisker Oceans. As a result of the poor update my car's ICC went out leaving me with very limited control over vehicle settings including all HVAC which meant I had no defroster (as well as heat this winter). No ability to control the regenerative breaking, charging settings, safety settings, etc. At one point my vehicle would no longer take any charge at all and eventually
... died. I was forced to fly in a technician at my own expense (airfare and his time) for him to get the car to take a charge again. He was unable to fix the ICC so I still had no control over most systems. It was only after After many months I finally got the ICC issue fixed last week so I can now control the vehicle systems. The vehicle still has false safety warning for the ADAS system which is both distracting and concerning. We rely on these safety systems and I have no confidence it will work. My car still does not have the full 2.2 update so I don't know what fixes are still out there. This has been handled horribly! For the other NTSB recall I had the water pump replaced at a cost to me of $212.50 which is more than the budgeted $175. My door handles were not replaced because at the moment they are working, but I have no confidence that they won't break next week or 3 months from now.Read more

Incident date: Feb 21, 2025
On October 10th 2024, my 2015 Kia Optima caught fire while I was driving. The fire originated from the engine compartment, completely engulfing the vehicle in flames within minutes. Component/System Failure: The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but Kia had previously issued a recall for this model due to an engine defect that posed a fire risk. The vehicle is no longer available for inspection
... as it was completely destroyed in the fire. However, I have multiple videos documenting the incident, including footage of the fire and the aftermath. Safety Risk: My safety and the safety of others were severely compromised. The fire started suddenly while I was driving, forcing me to evacuate the vehicle immediately. If I hadn’t reacted quickly, I could have suffered serious injuries or worse. Additionally, the fire posed a danger to other drivers and pedestrians nearby. Reproduction/Confirmation: The issue has not been reproduced, but it aligns with the recall Kia issued for this model. Prior to the fire, I attempted to schedule an appointment with Kia to address the recall, but I never received confirmation, and no inspection was performed. Inspections: After the incident, I contacted Kia, and they sent an investigator to inspect the remains of the vehicle. No police or insurance representatives conducted an independent inspection. Warning Signs: There were no warning lights, messages, or obvious signs of a problem immediately before the fire. However, I had previously noticed a recall related to fire risk for my specific model and attempted to schedule an appointment with Kia, but they never responded. Given Kia’s history of engine fire recalls, I strongly believe this incident is related to the known defects in this vehicle model.Read more

I own a 2017 Kia Sportage, and I recently experienced a malfunction indicator engine light turning on. Upon diagnosis by Kia Russ Darrow at Odana Rd Madison, WI , the vehicle displayed DTC P001000 – ‘A (Intake)’ Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1). They have noticed oil leakage around the E-CVVT motor plug area. It pointed to camshaft position sensor malfunction and Kia service say w
... hat the vehicle needs is a CVVT cover and seals/gaskets relating to the variable valve timing on the camshaft as it’s throwing the camshaft sensor circuit “high” voltage Kia has issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) SA305, which acknowledges a similar problem in earlier production models of the same vehicle (built from December 10, 2015 – September 12, 2016). However, my vehicle was manufactured in January 2017, and Kia has not yet included it in the affected range. Despite this, I am experiencing the exact same issue outlined in the TSB. This failure poses a potential safety risk because it can affect engine performance and reliability. If left unaddressed, it could lead to unexpected engine stalling, loss of power while driving, or further engine damage, creating a hazardous situation. I have not yet received confirmation from Kia regarding an official recall or warranty extension for my vehicle, but the symptoms are identical to those covered under SA305. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by a mechanic, and I am currently in the process of contacting Kia for further inspection and assistance. There were no prior warning messages, aside from the Check Engine Light (MIL) illuminating when the problem first occurred. This complaint is being submitted to request an investigation into whether this defect extends beyond the current TSB range and to determine if additional 2017 Sportage models should be included in a service action or recall to prevent safety risks. The affected component is available for inspection upon request.Read more

My vehicle was 8 months old and it completely stopped with no warning going down the interstate, I was in the left lane and the vehicle locked up, engine and all leaving me stranded in the left lane on a busy interstate. When the engine quits, there is absolutely no way to get the vehicle into neutral to get it to a safe location. When this happened I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler . After h
... aving the vehicle towed to the dealership, they informed me the engine was seized. It took 3 months to get an engine from GM, they finally got the engine in, started it up in the shop, it apparently ran for about 15 minutes before losing oil pressure. At that time they shut the vehicle off, pulled the oil filter, found metal shavings in it and GM told the dealer to order another engine. But there were no engines available. The dealership finally notified me 3.5 months later that they finally received an engine and were working on installing it. I finally got my vehicle back after more than 6 months at the dealership and it was on its 3rd engine. I drove the vehicle for almost 2 years before the Same thing happened, the vehicle locked up on the highway and I had to have it towed. It has taken the dealer over a month to diagnose the problem and called to inform me the engine had seized up again. This will be the fourth engine in a 2022 GMC Yukon AT4. Besides the issue of the engines going bad, it is a severe safety issue that the vehicle will completely lock up on the highway with no way to move it.
