Issue with engine burning oil after I passed 104000 miles. I had my oil changed just after 100000 with no issues and just before the 104000 mile mark my Elantra began to make a clicking noise and my oil light came on. I have been and currently experiencing the death wobble while going on high speeds on the freeway. It feels like my jeep is out of control as the steering wheel Shakes and the whole car Shakes. I took it to the dealership where they just completed repairs for the shaking and put new suspension on. About two days later, I still experience the same shaking. She claimed that she could not physically turn the wheel during these episodes and I tried to tell he that it is only because her forward speed is low and when going faster I said that it would steer easier - so I though from having no power steering in a few pickups back in the 1970s. Then I was driving this vehicle with her on 3/7/2025 in the mountains and the power steering failed and we nearly crashed at 35 mph as I could barely navigate the oncoming sharp corner. The power steering remained in a failed state for another few miles then came back on for a few miles, then failed again. The force required to steer the vehicle when the power steering fails is extremely high and I hate to think how many deaths and injuries this issue may have already caused. I came to your website and was stunned to see an existing recall for this exact issue, but stunned it doesn’t include our vehicle and therefore we have not been contacted - THIS ISSUE IS BEYOND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND WILL LEAD TO DEATH AND INJURY FOR DRIVERS WHO LACK AVERAGE STRENGTH!!! To correct the condition, steps to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM), installation of a new engine oil level indicator and change the engine oil and oil filter. The revised PCM calibration reduces engine vacuum during some DFSO events. After calling local ford service center, the issue was confirmed and I was told that there isn't a fix for the problem. I was provided by the Ford service agent the contact information for Fords customer service. Spoke to the agent who told me that there is only a recall for the tailgate for my model. Anything else I would be responsible for repairs. The Ford customer service agent then gave me the website to NHTSA to file a complaint. Now I'm doing just that. ... ponding to perceived wind conditions/instability normally and as it should. However, this was NOT like this for the first two years I drove the vehicle. It is DANGEROUS and not normal and the unilateral application of the brakes while I’m going 60 or 70 miles an hour on the highway forces my vehicle out of the lane and into parallel traffic lanes! The unilateral braking is sometimes so severe that my vehicle fishtails and feels like it is going to roll over into an adjacent lane or off the highway. This is going to cause a major accident to me and fellow drivers. Since the problem started six months ago and has steadily worsened, I have been advised to upgrade the suspension and install an “swaybar” and also to change the tires to make the vehicle more stable. I have done both. Neither has helped at all. I don’t know what to do or where to take it. It seems like deactivating the crosswind assist would be helpful in determining if the sensors are too sensitive or defective and whether it drives safely without them. But there is no way to deactivate that system. I have owned my vehicle for three years and for the first 2 1/2 years it drove perfectly, without this issue ever happening. My vehicle has not been in any collision and has had no damage, so I do not know where this came from. My vehicle is activating “crosswind assist” and applying the brakes automatically, unilaterally, and abruptly while traveling at speeds over 40 mph on the highway, even when conditions are NOT windy. ... ponding to perceived wind conditions/instability normally and as it should. However, this was NOT like this for the first two years I drove the vehicle. It is DANGEROUS and not normal and the unilateral application of the brakes while I’m going 60 or 70 miles an hour on the highway forces my vehicle out of the lane and into parallel traffic lanes! The unilateral braking is sometimes so severe that my vehicle fishtails and feels like it is going to roll over into an adjacent lane or off the highway. This is going to cause a major accident to me and fellow drivers. Since the problem started six months ago and has steadily worsened, I have been advised to upgrade the suspension and install an “swaybar” and also to change the tires to make the vehicle more stable. I have done both. Neither has helped at all. I don’t know what to do or where to take it. It seems like deactivating the crosswind assist would be helpful in determining if the sensors are too sensitive or defective and whether it drives safely without them. But there is no way to deactivate that system. I have owned my vehicle for three years and for the first 2 1/2 years it drove perfectly, without this issue ever happening. My vehicle has not been in any collision and has had no damage, so I do not know where this came from. I sent following to Tesla I had an accident at around 6:30 PM on Sunday, March 2nd with my Tesla Model 3 and asking to see if you can conduct a diagnostic check into this incident. I was coming home at that time with the Tesla and about 100 yards from my house, I experienced a sudden acceleration with the car going from about 20mph to, I think, over 40 mph and crashed into the garage area of
... my house. Around the time I started experiencing that unwanted acceleration, I heard a whining sound. As it started that sudden acceleration, I checked below to make sure my right foot was pressing on the brake pedal and it was. Since I have the regenerative braking with my tesla, the car should have decelerated but, instead, it sped up. I continued to press the brake pedal but I could not mitigate my car’s continual acceleration. It eventually crashed through the lowered garage door and went through the right side of the garage wall about half way out and came to the stop. I was driving myself and not engaged in self-driving feature. I like to see if the Tesla has any resources available to retrace last few seconds and be able to glean more information of why that sudden acceleration might have happened. The car is still located in my garage but currently the car is disabled and powered off. The car’s power was on and it automatically turned on emergency light for about 30 minutes after the accident before it eventually powering off. I am also curious to know why none of the airbags were deployed in this accident. I have many photos available of the accident. The fire department and police came and assisted. I do not know if this matters but the couple of nights before the car had one of those over the air updates by Tesla and also about couple of minutes before the accident I drove through about a minute of hard rain in otherwise light rainy drive.
