This accident happended about three months ago. While I was driving on highway, all of suddend, most the signals popped up like firework, AWD/VSV/EPS/TSA and Hill Start Asssitance and etc. My pilot just like lost power and hardly to be speeded up. This was really scarily on the highway. Then I managed to drive to my friends' garage. My friend, who owns a garage, helped me to diagnosis the issue
... and failed to find anything significant (See attached) . He then cleaned up a the signals above, and let me drive home. Amazingly after a the error signals cleaned up, my pilot was running normally. So couple of weeks later, I sent my car to DavisHonda, a dealer close to my home, to have a close check. Unfortunately, the report shows that everything is normally. At this moment, I am so surprised how could that happens to my car. My gut feeling for this accident is this one is mostly the software issue than hardware issue. So how in some particular conditions the software has some hacuup. But this could rely on your investigation. Maybe this is only one or two cases. But for me I still feel no comfortable to drive this car around, since I feel it is not that safe any more. They have said every excuse possible, from telling me that I don’t know to drive the vehicle to having the cops called on me to be removed from the premises . To the dealership telling me they will not check the vehicle. I have gone to 5 different dealership and they refuse to acknowledge my concern with the vehicle. I went ahead and place the vehicle on a lemon law and settled with Kia stating they would validate the warranty. The problem is the dealership have told me that they have to do lots of paperwork and they have to replicate the problem, but have me drive the vehicle instead of them . They stated they only drive the vehicle for about five minutes. The service advisor at time have requested authorization from me inorder for them to drive the car. When asked for a mechanic to do the testing, Ive been told they are may no be available and are working on other vehicles.I have stated the vehicle starts presenting the problem after it has been driven for a while. Again the dealership dismisses all of my claims. The vehicle doesn’t feel safe to drive and I fear a collision may happen putting my life and others at risk.Read more

The Dealer determined that the low fuel sensor failed thus shutoff the engine. Shutting engine off on a highway is dangerous and life threatening event. ... d approximately 50 other Kia k5 owners who have had this exact same issue. Half of the time, once taken to the dealership for diagnosis, it is weeks without anyone figuring out what the issue might be. Several instances where a part has been replaced which did not fix the issue at all, like an airbag module, or steering column. Several instances of the ecu and hecu being replaced, and several more of the entire engine/chassis wire harness being replaced. As for my case, now at the dealership for 2nd time because they could not reproduce warning lights while test driving vehicle. They have determined mine requires a full chassis wire harness replacement, with an estimated cost of $5k-$7k, which includes the $2800 harness. I initially thought mine was an isolated incident, and was shocked to find as many owners as I have that have experienced the same issue, some with mileage as low 25 miles, and causing sudden braking or issue with steering the vehicle. Being that it involves all the major safety systems of the vehicle, I am also surprised there has not been any sort of recall, considering these issues span all the way back to 2021. Just my two cents. Currently waiting on a tech to come out and determine if this is covered under extended warranty bought at dealership at time of purchase, as I am over the 60k mile factory warranty period. Have had this vehicle for 3+ years, and this just now started happening about a month and a half ago. On March 10, 2025, after Kia claimed to have tested the vehicle for 200 miles, I picked up the car from the dealership, only for it to stall and trigger the check engine light within hours before I even reached my destination. This vehicle has been returned to me multiple times in an unsafe condition. Additionally, an independent mechanic discovered an engine oil leak and a torn axle that Kia’s dealership never disclosed. This raises major concerns about their lack of proper inspection and repair procedures. This is a serious safety issue that Kia refuses to take accountability for. The vehicle has always had an issue with turn signal canceling the left hand turn probably fails 30/40% of the time. There was a recall on this but requires a diagnostic to be performed. This has been completed twice and didn’t fail, but service writer and tech both witnessed it not working during driving test. This message has shown up around 20 times at this point. This is very concerning and poses a serious safety concern. Photos are from two instances. This message only comes up for a few seconds. The computer is failing to record this and I am being told there is noting that can be done since it cannot be duplicated. I have the photos and have experiences attempts by the vehicle to leave the lane. This is a hazard that could lead to injury or path of an vehicle occupants or general public. Please assist before injury or death occurs. There maybe an effort by both Honda and the dealership to conceal this issue as I do not believe that is not being duplicated even if there are no codes. I have contacted American Honda Motors and was advised that there are no recalls at this point. Looking online, the 3.5L engine appears to have several issues regarding the VCM system that leads to ring failure and oil leaking into the cylinders. There was a class action suit, Soto et al. v. American Honda, that led to Honda extending engine warranties to 8 years, unlimited mileage, but does not correct the issue with the VCM causing damage. Thankfully for me each time the misfire condition has occurred, I have been close to home so that I have not been left stranded.Read more

I own a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4. The SERVICE 4WD light came on a few weeks ago. After research and several mechanic's input, I was told the problem was the PTU, and, since Jeep no longer makes the part, I was given the quote of $2700-$3200 to replace the PTU with a remanufactured part with only a one year warranty. I was told that I should put the Jeep in two wheel drive manually and drive it like that, but my shifter doesn't have that option. It shifts automatically. So, I have a bad PTU, but my VIN doesn't have a recall, and there are several people with the same problem, according to the NHTSA site. I am filing this complaint so the NHTSA will step in and require the manufacturer to further the recall to include ALL of the VINs with defective PTUs and make them safer to drive. The car would act like it would die or cut off after idling for a while at a drive thru or school pick up. Took the car twice to the dealership they couldn't replicate it. ... ght was on. It had never shut off before or had the engine light come on until then. It said crank shaft sensor and the PCM weren't allowing proper engine control. And the dealership has had it sense then. Bought the car in August 2024 and January 2025 the dealership has had my car. It is now march 2025. I have invoices. They say it's fixed every time I would pick the vehicle up and it never is.Read more

On [XXX] my vehicle displayed an engine light on the dash. The light went on and off randomly throughout the day. The vehicle was hooked up to a computer that said there were no issues and everything was fine. On [XXX] I drove the vehicle over 240 miles to Pittsburgh and back with no lights. At one point the vehicle did make a loud noise for the drive but I took it out of cruise control and everyt

On [XXX] while driving to Poconos, PA with my family (husband, self, children ages [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] and [XXX] ) on [XXX} at approximately mile marker [XXX] the vehicle's engine quit working. The engine light came on and we were able to coast off of a bridge and onto the shoulder of the highway. We were unable to exit the vehicle due to high rates of speed of oncoming traffic and the shoulder not having much room. We contacted OnStar who sent a state trooper to assist with traffic control until a tow could get to our area. The vehicle was towed to Blaise Alexander in Bloomsburg, PA. My and my three youngest children had to ride with the state police officer and my husband and older son rode with the tow truck due to not having anything to fit a family of 6. The police officer told me that he had a 2024 GMC Yukon Denali have the same issue in the same spot on the highway a week ago. The vehicle has just over 25,054 miles on it. On 3/10/25 Blaise Alexander called to state that there was metal in the engine and the engine would need to be replaced. The service manager stated that they have had a few GMC Yukon Denali vehicles with this issue and that the engines may be on back-order. I have also had issues with radio presets resetting, audio not working with turn signals, navigation, radio and phone and alignment since I owned it for the last [XXX] days. From my research, this is a known problem with GM engines for the engines in the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali.
