My 2020 Kia Telluride completely stalled on me on my way to work. The vehicle was not smoking and it seemed like it went on accessory mode. I had the vehicle towed to Kia Dealership in Perris to get it checked out and was told by Olivia that no codes were read when doing a diagnostic and that my engine seized. I had purchased an extended warranty through AGWS. AGWS reached out to me to request the
... vehicle service records which I emailed over as Subject: [XXX] to [XXX] Today March 21, 2024 we receive a call from Olivia stating that my warranty will not cover the cost as they're claiming that we failed to service the car. Our vehicle was services as advised and stated using the appropriate Synthetic oil. I was informed that they would be breaking down my engine to see where it went wrong as there were no codes read. They also stated I had to pay for the engine breakdown $200 per hour and it would most likely take 8 hours (According to Kia). Now, I've gone on many online forum and many people have experienced this problem with their 2020 Kia Tellurides all under 75,000.00 miles. I contacted Kia Corporate as well but that got me nowhere. I don't understand how these vehicles don't have a recall as of yet for these seized engines. I also don't understand how following the oil recommendations for oil changes is suddenly considered "Lack of service". No one is willing to work with me and suddenly it's my fault that I bought a faulty vehicle. Thank [XXX] I was able to putt to the shoulder of the freeway safely as this is my family vehicle where I drive with my [XXX] and [XXX] . Please investigate as it could be a possible recall. The front trunk (or frunk) of the electric truck has a power lift as the primary means of opening and closing it and this has a failure warning/dash light stating it requires service. The front trunk is where the travel charger is stored by the manufacturer as well as where the positive and negative terminals for the 12 v battery are located. In the absence of the power open function, there is a t
... ab to "pop the hood" but this requires the tab to be held back while a second person pulls open the hood to get it to open/is not possible to open by just the driver. Ford recognizes this problem under the code CXH-03906163-G5J3D0 "reprogram the front hatch control module FCHM" but is listing it as a recommended repair to the dealerships, not a recall. Ford does not list a mileage restriction on this recommended repair, but dealerships will not repair at their cost past 36000 miles. A non-functioning hood or trunk latch that restricts access to key electronic components is a safety issue, not just an inconvenience.Read more

I purchased this car used at a local non-Ford dealership. The car had 50,000 miles on it when purchased. At 51,400 miles, a loud clicking sound could be heard coming from the engine. I took the car to the Ford dealership and they told me the engine needed to be replaced due to a finding lots of small pieces of metal in the oil filter and in other areas after removing the timing chain cover and doi

"Big" Ford, after several months of back and forth, agreed to pay for 50% of the cost. Ford told me that if the engine were to completely "seize" it could have resulted in a major accident on the road. AFTER having the new engine installed, at 54,000 miles there was a burning smell entering the cabin through the vents. I took the vehicle back to the Ford dealership and they told me the valve cover gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced. They said it would not be part of the original warranty of the new engine and I needed to pay $1000 for the repair. After strongly pushing back and calling several other dealerships, the local dealer agreed to do the repair under warranty. I have zero faith in Ford due to this experience.Read more

The same dealership also replaced a shifter bushing cable when they did the engine. Dealership called today to advise that it was the torque convertor and I needed a new transmission. They are going to have warranty department see if Ford will assist with repairs, but I'm sure they won't. Mileage is 121,000. At this point there is a class action for transmission related issues for this year, make and model and Ford has STILL Not issued a recall. In speaking with the dealership, they said this is a common issue with the year, make, and model. And that anything over 100,000 is subject to trannie issues for this car. So obviously Ford knows this is an issue. I see they also recalled the torque convertors for other vehicles. And I see several other complaints where customers are being told the same thing as I am. Could a defective shifting bushing cable cause this? Should the torque convertor have been included in their other recall for the Ford Escapes? How does both an engine and transmission need replaced with 120,000 miles on the car. I used to love Ford. I will NEVER buy another Ford again as long as I live.Read more

When driving my van to work in the morning, I would get an alert on my screen that says to check the driver assistance system. Then I turned on to the freeway on ramp and my car lost all power, not letting me drive faster than 30 mph. I was able to get off of the freeway and on to a side street when another alert, accompanied by loud beeps, came on saying “Check Hybrid System. Stop safely.” I
... was able to pull to the side of the road and turn the car off. When I turned it back on it seemed everything was fine. I took it to the dealership and they couldn’t replicate the problems and the car didn’t register any errors. So they returned it to me. This morning I drove to work and the exact same thing happened at the exact same place. Only this time I wasn’t able to get over as quickly and my car shut down in the middle of an intersection. Luckily I was able to coast to the side of the road. The dealership is still saying they can’t fix what they don’t know is wrong. Which I get, but it’s weird that these major events aren’t being recorded by the car. And it is terrifying to suddenly lose power on the freeway.Read more
