We have had 3 of these Holt pneumatic fluid extractors part# 57056 from Harbor Freight. 2 of them have exploded, projecting plastic shards and oil towards our mechanics and the other has become mis-shapped. The first one we trashed not thinking anything about it but when the second and third did the same thing, is when I decided there is flaw in the design that is hazardous.

This failure occurred on a heavily trafficked street, which made the sudden loss of power particularly hazardous. Had I been on the highway or in faster-moving traffic, the outcome could have been far worse. I was unable to maintain speed or control acceleration, placing myself and others in danger. The problem was confirmed by a certified Maserati dealership. Their service team diagnosed the issue as a complete engine seizure and confirmed that the engine would need replacement. There were no warning lamps, dashboard messages, or unusual engine behavior prior to the failure. The engine failed suddenly and without any observable symptoms. Manufacturer Response: Maserati has declined to offer any assistance or compensation for the failure, citing the vehicle's warranty status. However, based on my experience and reports from other owners of similar issues, I believe this points to a larger reliability or manufacturing issue that should be formally investigated. They instead offered me to perform certain diagnostics to make a final determination if they are going to offer any assistance. They are asking me to pay $2400 for the diagnostics which I think it's unreasonable. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this matter and evaluate whether similar engine seizures in Maserati vehicles are part of a broader safety defect. We purchased this truck in 2022 brand new from the dealership. It has had electrical issues intermittently that has caused it to cycle through 3 batteries already. The truck will fail to start. The worst, most unsafe incident, happened when the truck completely shut down on the freeway. Every indicator light came on the dash and one by one the features of the truck started shutting down. We are finding online that people are having this issue with the Ram 1500 specifically equipped with the e-torque option (which is what we have). We have taken the truck into the dealership 3 times, each time they have simply said it was a battery issue and were unable to diagnose a bigger problem. At one point they had the vehicle for more than 30 days. This is my wife's vehicle. We have 3 kids. The safety of my family is at risk every time the vehicle doesn't start when we need it to and certainly when the truck shuts down in the middle of the freeway. It's dangerous. Truck was going down the highway at 75mph when the transmission went from 10th gear to 1st. I have videos of this happening several times and then eventually a gear symbol appeared on dash. From day 1 when I bought the truck new it would have a hard time shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. It would lung forward or not even shift and the truck would just roll forward trying to figure out what gear it is
... in. I've taken the truck in to multiple dealers and all they would ever do is reset the computer. Once I took the truck in for the 10th to 1st gear issue. I told the new dealership I went to about the 3 and 4 issue. The service advisor said his trcuk had the same issue and he was able to get it fixed under warranty but I was already out of the warranty so they couldn't do anything about the 3 and 4 issue. For the shifting from 10 to 1. They rebuilt the transmission and put some locking device to keep fluid flowing into the case. Since the repair that I had to pay out of pocket for. I still have the 3 and 4 shifting problem. Only happens on cold starts when I'm accelerating up or down a hill. The new issue I'm now having is a hard shifting into reverse. Ford keeps telling me I don't qualify for any reimbursement because I'm outside of the warranty limit, even though, the truck every time I took into a Ford dealership for oil changes, I would complain about the transmission and they would just say it's a known issue but nothing they can do about it. Also after the transmission rebuilt, about 2,000 miles after, driving on the freeway, smoke was billowing out of the bed and transmission fluid was leaking out of the case all underneath the truck. The end result is the same, however, a complete or mostly complete fogging of the headlight reducing illumination of the light(s) to almost nil. I have spoken to several BMW reps and they tell me there is no fix for this issue and that it persists even in the newer models, including the 2025. That's 4 years in total of a model with faulty headlight assemblies and the only fix BMW has is to replace these $2k headlights with a new set that will eventually incur the same issue. This needs to be addressed with a TSB or a remodel of the headlight housing entirely. It's unfair to consider headlight assemblies as wear/tear items when no collision has occurred. The main issue, however, is the lack of safety this will inevitably cause at night while driving on dark roads with only 15-20% light output.Read more

After investigation online, this seems to be very similar to recall that impacts 2016 Honda pilots although my VIN was not included in that recall. This is the third time I’m having to take my SUV to the Kia dealership because my check engine light begins flashing and then my car has a hard time accelerating when it gets to certain speeds. ... exact same abrupt transmission downshift issue that happened to me in this vehicle a few times before in early 2024. I received a Safety Recall notice on this known issue about a week after the first incident in 2024. I took my vehicle into the AutoNation Ford Dealer in Littleton, Colorado immediately after I received that notice and they supposedly 'fixed' the issue under the recall 24S37. Obviously, the issue has not been resolved. I am asking for a deeper look into the safety issue as I am sure I am not the only one this is happening to. I am also concerned that there were no warning lamps or messages that would indicate a problem that needed to be addressed! The truck is currently back at the AutoNation Ford Dealer in Littleton and is available for inspection. They are telling me there is no current recall for this issue. How can that be true if it’s the exact same problem and their Safety Recall ‘repair’ didn’t work? I believe the repair was just a software patch, but I can’t be sure. Can you please help me find out what the recall (24S37) was supposed to fix and why it didn’t fix the problem? Their suggestion now is to replace the Valve Body with a cost of $2,554.63 (in addition to a $219.95 diagnostic fee). My concern is that even this expensive repair might not actually solve the problem, and I am truly afraid to drive this vehicle.
