While coasting at very low speed with foot off accelerator or brake, into a crowded parking spot, the brakes failed after foot applied to the brake petal. This caused our vehicle to collide with a vehicle in front of us, pushing it a few feet backwards. Despite strong effort to push brake pedal down further, car would not stop. Pushed circular park button simultaneously with emergency brake tab wh
... ich we believe ultimately stopped the car. No usual parking system alerts, beeps, lights, etc., turned on during the collision or near pre-collision. Finally, when car reversed to go home, the car made an unusual jerking movement without the usual reverse 'beeping' noise for the hybrid. Car then behaved normal for the 10 minute tense drive home. We are afraid to drive the car for fear of fatal brake failure to ourselves or others. Vehicle is intact and currently at local Kia dealer for past several days, though purportedly they 'found nothing' and are offering to return the car. Auto claim still pending and once car returned to us, we will have auto insurance rep evaluate the car.Read more

I have the white pearl paint on my 2020 Telluride. It’s chipping in chunks on the roof and in smaller batches across the body. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a persistent engine misfire in my 2014 Dodge Journey AWD, which I believe may pose a safety risk to my family, myself, other drivers, and is not explained by regular maintenance and care. Since I first purchased the vehicle, I have performed all necessary maintenance and adhered to the recommended service intervals. However, despite these precaut
... ions, the engine has experienced consistent misfires. The misfires are particularly noticeable when I attempt to accelerate, whether when speeding up or turning. This issue has caused a noticeable hesitation in power delivery, which has created dangerous situations while merging onto highways or trying to maintain speed during turns. I have taken the vehicle to multiple certified mechanics and dealerships, but they have been unable to provide a clear cause for the engine misfires. The misfires have not been resolved with routine maintenance or repairs. This issue has persisted for several months and continues to affect the vehicle's performance, causing slow acceleration and hesitation, which increases the risk of accidents or collisions in certain driving situations. Given the nature of this issue and its potential impact on vehicle safety, I am concerned that this problem may be more widespread and may require further investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I would appreciate it if your agency could look into this matter and assess whether this issue could be a design flaw, manufacturing defect, or an undiscovered safety hazard. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and any guidance or steps that can be taken to address this issue.Read more

3 times in the last month, my 2023 Ram with only 25000 miles has stalled while I have been driving. The situation was I was in a line of traffic and rolling forward at approximately 5-10 miles per hour when the truck died, auto shifted into park and set the emergency brake. I then immediately hit the start button again and got a low battery voltage warning. I turned the car completely off and on
... again, then was able to move and continue with the flow of traffic with no faults. I took the truck to the dealership to have it diagnosed and they found that the truck logged a code P032F, which is associated with vehicles stalling. However, they stated they were unable to replicate it and there wasn't a fix currently available. I have also not been able to replicate it and it seems to happen completely at random. My safety and the safety of others was definitely a factor as I was stranded in traffic without the ability to move my vehicle. If I had not responded quickly, it could have caused an accident. Prior to this there were no symptoms of failure, and the truck drives completely normal until the event occurs.Read more

I brought my vehicle to the dealership due to serious safety concerns, including the engine randomly shutting off while driving, sudden unintended acceleration, unresponsiveness when pressing the gas, difficulty turning the key to start the engine, loud noises while running, and the engine, battery, and oil lights coming on. This is the second time I’ve brought the vehicle to the Kia dealership
... for the same issue. The first time, I was told the transmission had been replaced and the problem was resolved. However, the same issue resumed shortly after I got the car back. I called the dealership that day but they were already closed, so I dropped the vehicle off the next morning when they opened. At drop-off, I was told no repairs could begin until the recall was “officially” announced, but that they would look into the issue and keep me updated. Unfortunately, I never received any updates and had to reach out myself multiple times. This morning, I was told the sensor lights showing were “old codes” and that everything seemed fine. They said they’d take the car for a test drive and that I’d have it back by the end of the day. No one called me back. I followed up around 4:30–5:00 PM and was told the service department had closed, but the notes said that after the test drive, more codes appeared and the vehicle would require additional work. When I first dropped the car off, I was told I’d have it back the next morning, and if not, I’d be provided with a rental. Neither happened. When I expressed that I didn’t feel safe driving the car—even if the test drive went well—especially after a mechanic told me he wasn’t sure how to fix the current recall, I was dismissed. As I was saying, “Okay, just call me after the test drive so I can come by and check it out,” Greg hung up on me mid-sentence. This entire experience has been frustrating and concerning given the nature of the issue.Read more
