I took it to the shop and they tell me the evap canister was saturated and the fuel pump had small cracks in it likely seeping when the car heats up. ... My young child was inside the car at the time of the failure. Due to the system lockout, I was unable to open the doors or remove them from the vehicle. Emergency responders were called and had to break windows to safely extract my child. This situation posed a serious risk of heat exposure, panic, and injury. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The failure has been documented and attributed to a dead 12V battery, though Tesla has not formally inspected the vehicle as of this writing. I am working to have it evaluated by a qualified technician to confirm the cause. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was not inspected by Tesla at the time of the incident. Emergency responders did assess the situation on site. Can see blue/gray smoke out of the tail pipe - proving the engines burning oil. I pointed this out and took video while dropping it off at the dealer, they acknowledged. Frequent rough starts, not every one but 3 out of 5, always accompanied by the smoke. Shifting is far too rough. From a stop to easing on the accelerator there is a large knock, smacking into gear. This isnt always accompanied by the hesitation either. The rough shifting occurs at highway speeds too. The dealership has had my truck 3 days tomorrow and the only information they give me is; “ the technician cant fix it without having to talk (back and forth {like phone tag}) directly with the engineers.” The only recall is for moisture accumulation in the reverse lights.Read more

AAA attempted to battery jump the Yukon without success. We were without our Yukon for 8 weeks, being placed in random trucks that couldn't support our family size. Upstate Chevy of Attica was not help in the process. We did contact GM directly and received a case number 9-14907008493. The engine was replaced. The Yukon still doesn't seem to be 100%, with some slow to starts. We are asking for compensation toward another GM full size SUV. We are GM friends and family and have purchased several vehicles over the years. We'd like to trade our suv now for a new 2025 without engine issues- but since our Yukon was gutted, that is now noted on a carfax which devalues our trade.Read more
