An intermittent error occurs where these services stop working. It was last for a day or two and then the error will clear. I am not able to be alerted to passing cars or cars in my blind spot when changing lanes. And if there is a situation to suddenly stop the emergency automatic braking system will not be engaged.

The 2022 Honda Insight has an issue with "phantom touches" on the infotainment system. The system will frequently select buttons and change your screen, when no one is touching the panel. When it randomly pulls up your phone contact list, you have to immediately hit the home button so it doesn't dial someone. This nonsense happens A LOT, and has been ongoing since I bought the car a few years ago, especially when it's warmer outside. The last time I was at my Honda dealer I asked them to look at it. They didn't know what was causing it, but said the firmware needed to be updated, so they did that and nothing changed. To get a full understanding of what it's like, I posted a few videos. Without any warning nor noticeable malfunction during the drive out to the desert truck stop, 1 hour of fast charging at 50 kWH resulted in the charger being turned off by the car after reaching only 40%. With no info, I just assumed that this was a failure of the charger; however, I had used this specific charger 1 month prior without any problems. Only after I left this truck stop and headed to the next electric charger, some 50 miles away, did I notice the lack of A/C and warnings on the dash. At this time I called Chevrolet Roadside Service(CRS) and received advice to proceed to the charger then if charging attempt fails, call them back. I drove in 118 degree with open windows behind the slowest moving semi I could find. Within minutes my connected phone for map guidance, started overheating from both the environment and the car charging my phone. I realized I could die out here without car nor phone. Upon arrival, my attempts produced only 4 kWH charging speed at a 50 kWH station. After many false guidances and about 6 calls to CRS and 1 day, I was able to get my car towed to nearby Chevrolet dealer who was too busy to look at the car for 2-3 days. Next day I picked up my car and drove in 102 degree heat to where I purchased this car 2 years ago. 2 days later I picked it up; a known problem solved by a software download fixed it.Read more

Finally they kept it for three days they still werent able to diagnose the issue and repair it. Modesto the advisor there said " we can't duplicate the issue''. Component/System Malfunctioned: Both the original engine and a replacement engine—professionally installed by a Chevrolet dealership—experienced valve lifter failure related to the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system. Safety Risk: Engine failure puts driver and passenger safety at serious risk, particularly if the vehicle loses power unexpectedly while in motion. In both instances, the failure created unsafe driving conditions. 3. Reproduction/Confirmation: The issue was confirmed by a Chevrolet dealership during the initial engine failure and again more recently on the current engine, which is now exhibiting the same failure. 4. Inspection Status: The vehicle has been inspected by the same dealership that performed the original engine replacement. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by GM corporate, police, or insurance representatives. 5. Warning Signs: There were no warning lamps, messages, or clear symptoms prior to the failure. The problem occurred without advance notice and did not provide an opportunity to address it before damage occurred. This is the second engine failure my truck has suffered from the same issue, even after dealership installation of a new motor. I urge the NHTSA to investigate whether this represents a broader defect in GM 5.3L AFM-equipped engines. The car did remain on. When the dealership received the car the next morning they conducted what they referred to as a recall, but KIA refers to it as a "Service Action" - SA617 MCU DTC Logic Improvement. This requires a simply software update, which the dealership conducted, and the car was then working just fine, with no issues that I had indicated above. The dealership was Greenway KIA of Rivergate, 1526 Gallatin Rd North, Madison, TN 37115. The warning lights in the car illuminated about 5 seconds before the car was no longer able to accelerate due to the powertrain failure. In talking about the problem with a KIA representative, it was communicated that KIA has looked into this and it didn't pose any serious problems, so they left it as a "Service Action" item, not a recall.Read more
