On [XXX] I was driving on the freeway when both A pillars came loose and the rubber trim was damaged. I had to pull over and buy some electrical tape from the gas station to somehow secure them so that I can get home. While I was looking into the repair I came across information that there is a current safety recall for the A-Pillars for the Ford Explorer and my vehicle was one of the affected veh
... icles. Manufacturer recall # 24S02 and NHTSA Recall # 24V031. I contacted two Ford Dealerships Performance Ford located in 2000 E. Garvey Ave West Covina, CA. 91791 and also Chino Hills Ford 4480 Chino Hills Pkwy. Chino, CA. 91710. Both businesses gave me the excuse that they did not have parts for the repair but aftermarket parts are available with other vendors. I explained that my vehicle is actually one of the affected vehicles and I was concerned with not just the pillars flying completely off but also possibly water damage since the seals that go with the A-Pillars were damaged. They had nothing to say other than they will contact me when parts become available this recall is over a year old. My 2007 mazda5 power steering stopped worked abruptly while turning on a major highway. The sudden change in steering nearly caused an accident. I checked the ODB reader for codes but none were present. Then it happened again the next day in a similar situation, the power steering shut off but this time we were able to see the dash light for the power steering failure come on. It kicked back in a
... minute later. Again no codes in the scanner. Upon researching how to fix this issue my search revealed that 2007-2009 Mazda 5s have a recall for this exact critical failure. My next step was to call the local dealership to schedule a fix, however they told me that our specific vehicle (according to the VIN) was not under that recall, regardless of the vehicle doing precisely what was recalled. Please review the recall if you can, this is likely affecting more vehicles than Mazda is admitting to and is extremely dangerous.Read more

Two weeks ago, I had my 2022 Toyota Highlander serviced at Romano Toyota for my state inspection and regular maintenance. The vehicle began to hesitate and shift roughly, with noticeable jerking during acceleration and de
... layed gear engagement. This created a safety hazard, especially when merging into traffic or crossing intersections, because the SUV would not respond quickly when pressing the accelerator. A diagnostic scan revealed transmission-related trouble codes (P2714 – Pressure Control Solenoid D, and/or P2757 – Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Performance). I returned to the dealer, and they confirmed the issue but could not provide an immediate fix due to parts availability. They advised continuing to drive, which I feel is unsafe. The symptoms persist, and the transmission sometimes feels like it is slipping, which could result in loss of power in high-speed situations. This issue appears similar to other UA80 8-speed automatic transmission problems reported by Toyota owners from 2017–2022. Publicly available NHTSA records show over 200 similar complaints involving hesitation, rough shifting, and transmission failure. These reports suggest a potential widespread defect that may affect vehicle safety. Given the safety risk of delayed acceleration and possible transmission failure, I believe this defect needs investigation and corrective action.Read more

My Sorento PHEV popped a P0c4e code and now the car is gutless on electric power. Kia cleared the code in an attempt to fix it but now the code is gone and it’s still weak. When I let off the brake it rolls when it used to have the power to hold it. I used to be able to get on the freeway and now I can’t get up to speed in town (35mph). It’s running in some sort of limp mode and Kia can’t
... see any codes. It’s loud, too. Each gear whines. It whines when I hit the brake and it regenerates electricity. It regens so little now that it doesn’t hardly slow me down anymore until I stand on them and use the brake pads. Kia said that it might be a sensor in the electric motor but it’s not replaceable and you have to replace the whole motor. Even though it’s under warranty, it’s 15 hours labor to replace it. I have family with the same car and theirs has done the same thing in the past and had to be replaced. My dealer said that they have seen a bunch of these throw that same code and have to have the motor replaced. She said she is expecting Kia to start replacing them for free or possibly recall them because of how many she has seen all doing the same thing.Read more

This time we still can not find a replacement in stock and are afraid the springs are not strong enough for the honda cars which is why they have been on backup and keep failing. So now they have been on back order for 4 years. My husband's car has springs bigger than what they put on the minivan. And with the part on backorder still...I don't think they are good or that Honda wants to replace them. We had to get springs from somewhere else to replace this spring....causing us to pay for 2 new ones to put on the car. Car is currently in the shop (auto shop) waiting for the parts to arrive from another state to replace. These should definately be recalled! The turbocharger on my 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T has failed three times within one year. The replacement turbo from an authorized parts supplier is still under a 5-year warranty, and the dealership confirmed there were no oil feed or instal
... lation issues contributing to this repeated failure. Component/System Failed: Turbocharger (wastegate actuator stuck fully open). The failed turbocharger is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The vehicle experienced severe loss of power while and also the dealer made me aware there is a valve stuck in the turbo itself and if i drive it it could blow the motor up, which made merging and accelerating unsafe and could have resulted in a collision. The lack of engine power when entering traffic or climbing steep grades put both myself and other drivers at risk. Dealer Confirmation: The issue has been confirmed and documented by a Hyundai dealership service center. This is the third turbocharger replacement within one year for the same vehicle, indicating a potential defect or underlying issue. Warning Lamps/Symptoms: The check engine light illuminated (P0299 – Underboost) prior to the failure. I also experienced significant loss of acceleration and increased fuel consumption. These symptoms began days before the dealership confirmed the wastegate actuator failure. Resolution Sought: I am requesting Hyundai Consumer Affairs review this case due to repeated turbo failures, potential underlying defects, and financial burden. I would like to know what Hyundai can do to address the repeated turbocharger failures and associated labor costs.Read more
