In 2022, at approx. 83,747 miles, the engine was replaced by Bill Currie Ford under a recall related to cylinder 3 head failure. Now, less than 37,000 miles later on the replacement engine, the exact same issue has returned, with identical fault codes and driveability concerns. Despite this being a known and documented defect across the EcoBoost engines and replacement engines, Ford and the servicing dealership, Bill Currie Ford, refuse to cover the cost of another repair, claiming no further responsibility. Of note, the vehicle was habitually serviced there and the defective engine was installed by them. Multiple reports suggest this issue continues even after engine replacement, raising concerns about the long-term effectiveness of the recall and it actually being "fixed" with the replacement engines. I have contacted Ford Motor Company and the dealership directly to escalate the issue, but I have been denied resolution. I am now urging the NHTSA to: - Investigate the long-term safety and effectiveness of repairs done under the TSBs and related recalls. - Determine if replacement engines are also defective. - Consider expanding or reissuing a recall campaign for affected vehicles. - Ensure owners are not left with recurring failures at their own expense. - Assistance in helping me get my engine replaced by Ford, at their expense. You can turn the volume all the way down and even power off the radio and it continues to have loud static coming from speakers. Although the vehicle was fully powered, it would not move and I had to call AAA in order to get the vehicle towed to the closest AAA Approved facility which was AutoWorks Diagnostics & Repair in Kittery, ME. They observed fluids had leaked out but were unable to locate where the leak was coming from and very Loud Noises that appeared to be coming from in between the Engine and Transmission . After researching online they found that there were Two Recalls involving the welds on the Torque Converter detaching from the engine. They also found a recall on the front brake hoses rupturing & leaking brake fluid as well as a Recall with the steering wheel retaining bolt loosening & detaching while driving which could also have contributed to the issues experienced with the vehicle and the safety concerns associated as I was driving in traffic and lost Total Control of the vehicle which could very likely have caused a Major Accident! Unfortunately None of these recalls have been associated with the VIN connected to this vehicle and the manufacturer; Lincoln, to this point has refused to discuss any of the issues having to do with the four recalls being associated to my specific 2017 Lincoln Hybrid Premier 2.0L gas engine with 6 speed transmission although this specific year, make & model has each of these reported recalls.Read more

... g. Warning lights and warning sounds are designed to alert the driver to a potential safety issue so ignoring the lights and sounds is dangerous in the event it is a different caution/warning. However, also not ignoring it is dangerous because of the frequency of the warnings which causes the driver to look away from the road. This happens at any and all speeds. From what I've heard this is a widely known problem that is remedied only with the replacement of the steering wheel. My steering wheel was already replaced once for a different issue. There are several other sensors that are triggered by the same issue I was told by the maintenance department. There were no warning lamps or messages indicating the fault will be occurring. It just reboots and the MMI goes totally blank for about 20 seconds while the system reboots. We left the vehicle, and awaited more information. The next day I received a phone call stating that they needed to do an engine teardown to completely diagnose the issue, to the tune of approx. $1,500. In the dealers words, they needed to do the teardown to determine if "They could salvage the engine, or if it had to be condemned". The following day I received another call stating that the engine needed to be completely replaced due to a collapsed cylinder. There is no control. The vehicle then has to be shifted into PARK and then restarted. THIS HAPPENED July of 2024 and August 2025

While I have not experienced a complete suspension failure, the current symptoms are consistent with reported cases where the fore links weaken or fail, causing the wheel to shift and contact the fender liner, leading to tire damage, unusual noises, and potential safety risks. I have reported this to Tesla, but they have not acknowledged this as a known issue for my VIN. However, NHTSA previously identified over 400 instances of similar failure and recommended that Tesla expand their service bulletin to include more vehicles. This is a critical safety concern as it can lead to premature tire wear, loss of control, and further suspension failure. My 2017 ford edge, 74,000 miles 2.0 eco boost had a code after hesitating, running rough and having white smoke from exhaust. The check engine light came on and the code was Po302. ... iagnosed for my vehicle is a known failure issue for 1.5L Ford EcoBoost engines documented in Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12, which covers coolant intrusion and engine damage in this engine type. Despite the Ford dealership diagnosis of my vehicle matching what is described in Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12, I was informed that my vehicle is not eligible. The Coolant intrusion into cylinder 2 is an issue that poses a safety risk due to engine misfires, stalling, overheating, and possible sudden loss of engine power while driving. In my case, my vehicle has become unreliable and unsafe for regular driving. A Ford dealership inspected the vehicle, confirmed and documented the issue, and the repair quote, diagnostic report and diagnostic payment receipt are available upon request. Ford has declined assistance despite the vehicle’s low mileage and clear alignment with known engine defects. I mailed a formal appeal letter to Ford Motor Company and I am filing a complaint with my state attorney general. This widespread issue affects customer safety, and vehicle safety standards and deserves further investigation, as many other Ford owners of vehicles with 1.5L EcoBoost engines have reported similar failures.Read more
