THE WEAKEST LINK I OWN A 2004 KEYSTONE SPRINTER. THIS RV UNIT HAS 30,000 TOWED MILES. THIS RV HAS THE DOUBLE EYE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. DURING MY TRAVELS IN 2007 A SET OF SHACKLE PLATES BROKE. ... SPENSION FAILURE COULD CAUSE FATAL BODILY DAMAGE. WHEN A SHACKLE PLATE BREAKS THE AXLE CAN BECOME DETACHED FROM THE RV HOME FRAME. THE KEYSTONE SPRINTER ORGANIZATION REFERS TO THE FAILED PART AS A 'WEAR PART'. THIS ISSUE THAN BELONGS TO THE RV HOME OWNER. KEYSTONE SPRINTER AND AL-KO KOBER, SUSPENSION MANUFACTURE, OWNER'S MANUAL STATES ONLY 'INSPECT THE SUSPENSION EVERY 6000 MILES'. ON OUR RETURN TRIP WE HAD ANOTHER BLOW OUT ON JULY 31ST, THIS TIME OF A CARLISLE RADIAL TIRE WHICH WAS A REPLACEMENT OF OUR 1ST BLOWOUT IN APR 2006. THIS TIRE , AS ALL THE OTHERS HAD EVEN TIRE WEAR WITH PLENTY OF TREAD WEAR LEFT AT TIME OF BLOW OUT. THESE TIRES WERE PROPERLY INFLATED TO 60 TO 65 LBS EACH. BOTH SIDES OF OUR TRAVEL TRAILER INCURRED FENDER DAMAGE AND UNDER CARRIAGE DAMAGE FROM THESE BLOW OUTS THIS YEAR. I HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE DAMAGE THIS YEAR. I DO NOT HAVE AN OF THE MISSION TIRES IN MY POSSESSION, BUT I DO HAVE THE CARLISLE TIRE IN MY POSSESSION WHICH SHOWS THE STEEL BELTS COMING THROUGH THE TREAD IN ONLY ONE AREA AS THE TIRE DID NOT COME APART COMPLETELY AS THE MISSION TIRES DID. I PURCHASED A 2004 COUGAR 5TH WHEEL MADE BY KEYSTONE RV IN APRIL OF 2005 FROM A LOCAL DEALER. SINCE THEN WE HAVE TAKEN TWO LONG TRIPS (OVER 500 MILES) AND EACH TIME HAVE HAD MULTIPLE BLOW-OUTS (2 ON THE FIRST TRIP AND 3 THIS LAST TRIP). TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 KEYSTONE RAPTOR TRAILER WITH MISSION TIRES SIZE ST2257515. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH SHE EXPERIENCED BLOW OUTS ON THE TWO FRONT AND REAR TIRES. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF WEAR AND TEAR. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME BRAND AND SIZE. THE ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, POWER TRAIN, AND FUEL SYSTEM INFORMATION WAS NOT APPLICABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500.
