WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF PURCHASING A NEW KEYSTONE MONTANA 5TH WHEEL THE REAR FIRE EMERGENCY WINDOW LATCH BROKE. IN ORDER TO CONTINUE USING THE 5TH WHEEL THE WINDOW HAD TO BE SECURED SHUT WITH WIRE TIES. THIS EMERGENCY WINDOW IS ONE OF ONLY THREE FIRE EXITS FROM THE TRAILER. IT IS THE ONLY FIRE EXIT IN THE REAR EXTRA LIVING QUARTERS. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR WITH THIS PART ON "BACK ORDER". NOW I AM

ON THE WAY TO KINGMAN AZ, JANUARY 12, 2015, ON HWY 93 WE HAD A BLOW OUT ON THE REMAINING GY MARATHON TIRE. THE BLOW OUT RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER. I BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM TO THE ATTENTION OF GY WHEN THE FIRST PROBLEM AROSE. GY SAID THEY HAVE A 6 YEAR WARRANTY. NO TIRE SHOP I HAVE BEEN TO WILL CONSULT WITH GY ON THIS PROBLEM. 2010 KEYSTONE RAPTOR FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER. POTENTIALLY DEADLY INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER. *TA THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, HE ENCOUNTERED SLOWING TRAFFIC. THE CONSUMER SLID THE BRAKE CONTROLLER SWITCH TO SEE IF THE TRAILER BRAKES WERE FUNCTIONING. THEY WERE NOT WORKING AT ALL. THE TRAILERS ELECTRIC CORD WAS PLUGGED IN. HE THEN WENT TO CHECK THE FOUR BULBS AND DISCOVERED THEY WERE COLD, AS IF THEY HAD NOT BEEN APPLIED DURING THE PANIC STOP FROM EARLIER. THE SPARE'S TIRE PRESSURE HAD BEEN CHECK PRIOR TO THE TRIP, THE LUG NUT TORQUE HAD BEEN SET WHEN MOUNTED AFTER THE PRIOR BLOWOUT, THE BRAKES AND ALIGNMENT HAD BEEN CHECKED IN THE FALL, AND A TRIP HAD BEEN MADE IN THE FALL AFTER THE BRAKE AND ALIGNMENT WORK WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE RIM WAS NOT HOT, THERE WAS NO APPARENT MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE TRAILER, AND THERE WAS NO OBJECT IN THE ROAD THAT COULD CAUSE A BLOWOUT. THE SPARE'S TREAD AND THE PRIOR BLOWOUT'S TREAD SHOWED NO SIGNS OF UNEVEN WEAR AND NEITHER TIRE SHOWED ANY VISIBLE SIGN OF A PROBLEM. NEITHER TIRE HAD VISIBLE SIGNS OF DRY ROT. THE FIRST BLOWOUT FORCED US TO CHANGE THE TIRE ON A BUSY TWO-LANE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PULL OFF. WE RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2011 KEYSTONE OUTBACK TOY HAULER-STYLE TRAVEL TRAILER. IT HAS A SIDE-ENTRY GARAGE ON THE FRONT OF THE TRAILER. KEYSTONE ADVERTISES THE TRAILER AS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING A FULL-SIZED MOTORCYCLE IN THE GARAGE. APPARENTLY KEYSTONE RAISED THE RIDE-HEIGHT OF THE TRAILERS BEGINNING WITH THE 2010 MODEL YEAR, BUT DIDN'T CONSIDER THE WAY IT WOULD INCREASE THE ANGLE OF THE LOADING RAMP TO A DANGEROUS DEGREE. I PURCHASED A NEW5TH WHEEL RV IN JULY 2013 AND I HAVE HAD 2 TIRE BLOW OUTS WITHIN 8 MONTHS SINCE I BOUGHT IT.
