WHILE TRAVELLING HOME FROM A CAMPOUT, I NOTICED EXCESSIVE SPRING IN THE FIFTH WHEEL CAMPER AT THE KING PIN. AT NEXT FUEL STOP I IDENTIFIED THAT THE HITCH BOX WELDS TO THE CAMPER FRAME WAS BROKE AND GAPPED APPROX. 1/2", THE HITCH BOX IS THE WELDED MEMBER TO THE CAMPER THAT ALLOWS THE CAMPER TO BE CONNECTED TO THE TOW VEHICLE. HAD IT COMPLETELY SEPARATED THE CAMPER WOULD HAVE BEEN LOOSE FROM THE T
... RUCK. THIS FRAME IS BUILT BY LIPPERT WHO PROVIDES MANY OF THE FRAMES FOR CAMPER MANUFACTURERS. I CONTACTED LIPPERT AND WAS TOLD THAT IT ISN'T WARRANTIED DUE TO AGE. THIS COMPONENT SHOULD LAST LONGEST OF ANYTHING ELSE ON A CAMPER IN MY OPINION. SEVERE DAMAGE AND DEATH COULD RESULT IF THIS COMPONENT FAILS AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH TRAFFIC.Read more

GVW RATED HITCH AND A LIPPERT (LCI) PART NUMBER OF 194170 . WHEN REPAIR FACILITY ATTEMPTED TO ORDER THE REPLACEMENT KING PIN ASSEMBLY USING THE

THE DUTCHMEN GVW RATING FOR THE VOLTAGE 3950 LISTED ON THE PLACARD IS 19,000. THIS TOYHAULER LEFT THE DUTCHMEN FACTORY WITH A FIFTHWHEEL KING PIN THAT IS NOT RATED FOR THE RV'S 19K GVW. ONE TIRE BLEW (SHREDDED) ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WHILE ON RT 95 IN MARYLAND ON JUNE 17, 2015. CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO CAMPER. I ADDED A TPMS TO MONITOR THE PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE OF THE TIRES (

WE WERE ON A SMOOTH, STRAIGHT SECTION OF ROAD AT THE TIME AND DID NOT HIT ANY DEBRIS OR HAZARD. IT JUST BLEW OUT THE SIDEWALL. STEEL BELT WAS BADLY DISTORTED. IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLES. CHANGING A FLAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE TRAILER IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH LOAD RANGE G TIRES. I KEPT THE SECOND BLOWOUT AND TOOK IT TO GOODYEAR. THEY GAVE ME CREDIT FOR THE ONE TIRE. I HAVE THE THREE REMAINING GY MARATHONS IN MY GARAGE SHOULD A RECALL OCCUR IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THIS IS THE SECOND BLOW OUT, THE LAST TWO TIMES OUT WITHIN A MONTH. THE TIRES FAILED ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE RV, TIRE PRESSURES WERE CHECKED AND TOP OFF AFTER WINTER STORAGE (INDOORS). BOTH TRIPS THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90 DEGREES. BOTH SIDES OF THE RV WERE DAMAGED AFTER THE BLOW OUTS, METAL SIDING AND FENDER WELL PARTS WERE DESTROYED.

THE ENTRY STEPS INTO MY FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER HAD A FAILURE. THE RIVET IN THE SECOND STEP FROM THE BOTTOM BROKE WHEN STEPPED ON, ALLOWING IT TO COLLAPSE ON ONE SIDE. I HAVE TEMPORARILY REPAIRED THE STEP WITH A BOLT. I ALSO CONTACTED KEYSTONE ON THE DATE OF THIS COMPLAINT ONLY TO BE TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT WITHIN THE RECALL SCOPE EVEN THOUGH THE STEP ASSEMBLY IS MADE BY HICKORY SPRINGS. *TR

MY RV HAS A SET OF FOLDING STEPS FOR ENTRY. THERE ARE 4 STEPS. THE TOP LEFT RIVET IS ALL BUT PULLED OUT. TIRE BLOW OUT. I WAS PULLING MY CAMPER AT 60 MPH, JUST N OF THE FLA LINE ON 1-95. THE ROAD TEMPERATURE WAS MODERATE. I CHECKED TIRE PRESSURE BEFORE LEAVING SAVANNAH, 80 PSI. THE TIRE HAD APPROXIMATELY 4500 MILES ON IT, IT WAS NOT WORN AND WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. THE TIRE BURST WITH A LOUD NOISE AND IMMEDIATELY DEFLATED. I HAD TO CHANGE THE TIRE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. I HAVE A 2004 KEYSTONE TRAVEL TRAILER. THE REFRIGERATOR HAS A RECALL FROM DOMETIC. THE RECALL IS TO PREVENT FIRES IF THE REFRIGERATOR LEAKS FLAMMABLE COOLANT INTO THE PROPANE FLAME. MY COOLER HAS STARTED TO LEAK AND IS NO LONGER SAFE TO USE. DOMETIC WILL NOT REPLACE THE FAULTY COOLER. THEIR SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM (LEAKING COOLERS) IS TO INSTALL A SWITCH THAT TURNS THE FRIDGE OFF IN CASE OF A LEAK

WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF PURCHASING A NEW KEYSTONE MONTANA 5TH WHEEL THE REAR FIRE EMERGENCY WINDOW LATCH BROKE. IN ORDER TO CONTINUE USING THE 5TH WHEEL THE WINDOW HAD TO BE SECURED SHUT WITH WIRE TIES.
