Under recall 78C, Sand Contaminated Engine, I was advised by the manufacturer FCA to contact the dealership immediately if there were any unusual sounds/movements while operating the vehicle. On January 10th, 2026, the vehicle is noted to be making a new clicking/vibration sound. I contacted the dealership Milton Ruben Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Augusta GA who towed the vehicle to their location.
... Upon vehicle arrival, the sales manager Ben at number [XXX] called this consumer and stated he did not want the vehicle and wasn't going to service it because they catch on fire, and that he will just place it on the back lot. So now I am without a safe vehicle to drive and this is a leased vehicle that is under manufacturer warranty. INCIDENT SUMMARY: On January 9, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM, while traveling at 50 MPH in North Carolina, the vehicle experienced a sudden, catastrophic engine seizure without any prior "Limp Mode" warning or Check Engine Light. This resulted in an immediate, total loss of motive power in active traffic. I was forced to navigate a dead multi-ton vehicle across lanes without power steering or va
... cuum-assisted braking, narrowly avoiding a high-speed collision. TIMELINE & NEGLIGENCE: This vehicle was purchased from an independent retail dealer on December 20, 2025—less than 21 days prior to this life-threatening failure. The vehicle was sold with an "Open" status for Safety Recall 23V-707. The failure occurred exactly as described in the recall’s warning: a catastrophic stall at speed. TECHNICAL EVIDENCE: A non-invasive borescope inspection of the cylinders has confirmed the presence of metallic "silver chunks" (sheared bolt heads) and "half-moon" impact marks on the piston crowns, indicating a total timing failure and internal mechanical collision (piston-to-valve contact). REQUIRED REMEDY: This incident is a direct manifestation of the safety risk documented in Recall 23V-707. Per BMW Service Bulletin SIB 11 09 23, the presence of sheared bolt heads and seized internals constitutes "Catastrophic Consequential Damage." I am filing this report to ensure federal oversight of BMW North America’s obligation to provide a complete engine replacement, as the safety defect was present at the time of sale and resulted in a near-fatal incident within 300 miles of ownership.Read more

The DCT transmission causes significant hesitation at slow speeds or starting from a stop. This often leaves the driver and it’s occupants in a vulnerable position if the car hesitates when trying to navigate through traffic. I have taken it to the dealership and they stated that nothing is wrong with it, However, in reviewing online forums, it is obviously a significant concern.

10R80 ten speed automatic transmission first exhibited indications of failure 9/16/2020, Ford's response being reprogram PCM. Transmission has progressively declined in reliability complete with harsh shifts, jerking, erratic up and downshifts, suddenly reverting into neutral at highway speeds. Safety of self, wife and other family members imperiled due to the vehicle suddenly lurching, jerking,
... and slamming forward in an unsafe manner at highway speeds. Ford dealerships have reprogrammed the transmission PCM four times over several years with progressively worsening transmission functionality. Dealership service specialist has confirmed that the transmission failure is due to internal components with burnt fluid as a component. But, Ford will not allow them to open the transmission up, denied repeatedly by the manufacturer as the issue with this 10R80 transmission is widespread with thousands of complaints filed, sone with NHTSA and others online and with Ford Customer Service to no avail. Ford is denying this manufacturer's defective transmission to avoid financial liability likely in the multi million dollar range over a wide array of Ford products with this faulty transmission installed in them. During the four times that Ford dealerships have reprogrammed the transmission's computer at the behest and mandate of Ford Motor Company, this vehicle's transmission repair was covered by both the manufacturers warranty as well as a privately purchased Ford Extended Service Plan (Extra Care). Ford chose deny coverage under either warranty though it is warrantied under both plans explicitly. This failure can result in vehicular accidents because of transmission's erratic and flawed functionality. Stranded on an interstate highway due to this failure especially is dangerous and may leave the vehicle exposed to collision.Read more

The warning light states, ‘Service Driver Assist System’. The alert had been coming on for about a month but I had to cancel my previous two appointments
... due to bad weather. I explained to the man in service that I would like the automatic braking feature deactivated on my car as well as the alert light corrected. I told him that I was coming up to a red light and I was slowing down when my car automatically slammed on the brakes and gave me whiplash. The man in the service department asked me if I lived on a back road. I told him that I did and he told me that is why I am having this issue. He stated that the dirt and mud caused the wires on the sensor under the front bumper to corrode. He stated that the sensor was supposed to be waterproof/weatherproof but they are not. He showed me where the sensor was on my vehicle. He also stated that the automatic braking was not something that they could turn off because it was a safety feature. He also told me that the broken sensor causes the automatic braking system to operate. I am now afraid every time the red light comes on in my car that the brakes are going to slam on again so I slow way down. My neck has not fully healed from the first time. What would happen if I am driving down the interstate going much faster that I was the last time they automatically stopped the car suddenly. He then explained that the issue was not covered under my bumper-to-bumper warranty because the dirt caused the issue – apparently the waterproof sensor box had no bearing??? I have only made 2 payments so far on this brand-new car. I was charged $87.34 for the diagnostic check and I will be charged another $558.25 when the part comes in to repair my sensor.
