Took my car in for some minor hood issues the week after buying it. While there the dealership pulled it out of the shop, parked it in the lot with the other vehicles they had worked on. They called me and told me they were going to call me and let me know my 2025 Nissan Rogue was ready to pick but when they went out to move it close to the door the back windshield was shattered.

I am reporting a safety-related transmission failure in my 2019 Toyota. The vehicle suddenly lost the ability to drive forward without any warning. There were no check engine lights, warning lights, or alerts before or during the failure. The vehicle would only go in reverse and became completely undrivable. At the time of the failure, my children and my elderly mother were in the vehicle, creatin
... g a serious safety risk. Had this occurred in traffic or at an intersection, it could have resulted in an accident. After the failure, I contacted over 30 transmission shops and mechanics, and none are willing to rebuild or repair the transmission due to known and recurring issues with this Toyota transmission model. I contacted Toyota directly and was provided a repair estimate of approximately $8,000, which is unreasonable for a 2019 vehicle and makes repair financially impossible. The vehicle was towed and remains undrivable. I am currently paying $30 per day for a rental vehicle, causing financial hardship. I am submitting this complaint so this issue is documented as a potential safety defectRead more

The first incident, my SUV failed to start, per Roadside Assistance, I replaced the battery. No diagnostic testing done. On 12/26/25 my SUV STOPPED COLD while driving. Red battery light and other warning indicators on dashboard lit up. Radio went dead; loss of steering assist; loss of vehicle power; dashboard went black and SUV SHUT DOWN. It would not start again. Towed to Hyundai for diagnostic
... test. I leave my home at 4:30 a.m. every morning driving 30 miles on the beltway to work. Imagine the danger, Stopping Cold on the beltway, in the dark alone with no power for emergency lights to warn approaching traffic of the danger. I travel with my family in my SUV on the beltway daily. I no longer trust this vehicle, and I’ve requested to be reimbursed; my vehicle is my livelihood and it’s my life and the lives of my family each day that I get into this SUV. SUV is paid off. Rockville Hyundai’s finding was a faulty alternator and battery. The original battery was in the SUV with the first incident, still I’m terrified to drive this SUV. I researched possible causes for my SUV performing in this manner and my research yielded, and I quote: “Electronic troubles with the 2022 Palisade Calligraphy often involve dashboard warning lights, driver-assist malfunctions, instrument cluster failures, and even engine shutdowns, frequently linked to issues like a faulty alternator, low battery voltage, or problems with the instrument cluster itself (Recalls), with some owners reporting dangerous situations like loss of steering assist or vehicle power loss on the highway.” On 1/6/26 on the beltway, the battery light and other warning indicators lit up; radio went dead, all warning indicators on the dashboard lit up; experienced loss of steering assist; and the dashboard went black instantly. I reached home, and parked; lights on the dashboard came back on, and I turned the engine off. On 1/7/26 I drove to Hyundai for another diagnostic test. 1/21/26 SUV still in service.Read more

Following a rear collision repair at an authorized dealer collision center, multiple ADAS safety systems were not properly calibrated despite insurance payment and shop representations that repairs were complete. WHAT FAILED: Lane Change Assist, Peripheral Camera System, Side Assist, 360-Degree Camera, Front Camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control were either not calibrated or calibrated in timeframe
... s physically incompatible with manufacturer specifications. SAFETY RISK: Driver relies on blind spot monitoring and lane change alerts that may be non-functional or inaccurate. Without proper calibration, these systems may fail to detect adjacent vehicles, provide false alerts, or create blind spots in camera coverage, increasing collision risk during lane changes and merging. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Yes. Shop manager provided diagnostic logs as proof of calibration. Analysis shows 360-degree camera calibration executed in 18 seconds versus 40-60 minute industry standard, and zero calibration events logged for Lane Change Assist and Peripheral Camera systems explicitly claimed as completed. INSURANCE INSPECTION: Insurance company explicitly DENIED Lane Change Assist and Peripheral Camera calibrations on estimate. Shop admitted in writing these items were declined and blamed insurance for non-payment. No OEM calibration logs produced despite multiple written requests. WARNING SYMPTOMS: Systems may appear normal on diagnostic scan with no active fault codes, but this does not prove calibration was performed to OEM tolerances. Physical calibration requires target board positioning, laser alignment, and environmental verification that cannot be completed in documented timeframes. PATTERN CONCERN: This may represent a systemic issue where insurers deny ADAS calibrations, shops skip calibrations due to non-payment, vehicles are released as complete, and consumers unknowingly operate vehicles with compromised safety systems. Vehicle and documentation available for inspection.Read more

In addition, the contact was offered the option to trade the vehicle in for a new vehicle. The contact stated that the odor was extremely strong and foul, and the odor stuck to clothing and the contact’s skin. In addition, the contact described the odor as an old lawnmower or snow blowing odor. The contact was advised by the state Attorney General Office of Illinois to contact NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100. Hello, Today (01/21/2026), on my 2025 Toyota GR Corolla vehicle (odometer 5243 miles), after 3200 miles of driving with the updated engine control unit (ECU) as of 10/14/2025 according to the T-SB-0071-25, a P2C90 error appeared again with an Check Engine Light. This happened during acceleration while entering the highway, when the engine speed reached between 3000 and 4000 RPM. This situation
... disables many of the vehicle's active safety systems (all-wheel drive, vehicle stability control, traction control, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, etc.), exposing owners to unwarranted safety risks due to unexplained fluctuations in the crankcase ventilation monitoring system of a new and otherwise healthy engine. How can we get Toyota to release a better ECU firmware update to fix this problem? Obviously, the previous fix was not effective enough. Regards!Read more

So they take the car to do an inspection on it. Then the mechanic/advisor guy says the vehicle needs a new transmission due to a failed torque converter. And he said the new transmission will cost $8700. And he charged me again for the inspection of the car. The vehicle is a 2020 Ford Edge with just 85400 miles. I am writing to formally a repeated mechanical failure involving the HVAC evaporator systems in two Volvo vehicles that I purchased within a few months of each other. The vehicles involved are: • 2019 Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum VIN: [XXX] Purchased: November 2024 • 2020 Volvo XC60 T5 Momentum Purchased: January 2025 Within a six months apart, both vehicles suffered complete air conditioning sy
... stem failure due to large evaporator leaks. In total, three evaporators have now been confirmed as leaking across these two vehicles. The 2020 XC60 experienced evaporator failure in May 2025 and required full evaporator replacement under its CPO warranty. The 2019 XC90 subsequently developed the same issue. After multiple independent inspections and a full diagnostic performed by Volvo, they have confirmed that both the front and rear evaporators were leaking. The total repair estimate exceeds seven thousand dollars. Despite the statistical improbability of two vehicles purchased months apart suffering identical HVAC system failures within months of ownership, Volvo Cars North America denied my goodwill assistance request. The denial was based solely on the fact that a prior owner of the XC90 had previously received an unrelated goodwill repair. I was not informed of this at the time of purchase and had no connection to that prior claim. I then filed a complaint with the BBB against Volvo Cars North America. Volvo did not respond at all. The BBB has now formally closed the case and recorded that Volvo failed to respond to the complaint. I have acted in good faith at every step. I paid for diagnostics. I provided complete documentation. I pursued proper escalation channels. I sought resolution through the BBB. Volvo has remained silent. This is not an isolated service matter. It reflects a potential systemic defect affecting multiple Volvo platforms and model years. The repeated evaporator failures raise serious concerns as far us intaking large freon amounts. While operating my 2019 Ford F-150 XLT on a highway at normal speed, the vehicle suddenly and aggressively downshifted without any driver input. The abrupt deceleration created an immediate safety hazard. I was wearing a seatbelt; without it, there was a substantial risk of ejection and serious injury or death. A vehicle traveling behind me was forced to brake suddenly and skid to avoid a high-spe
... ed rear-end collision. This incident placed multiple motorists at significant risk The vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, and no action on my part caused the downshift. Shortly after the incident, the wrench warning indicator illuminated on the dashboard, signaling a mechanical malfunction. I immediately took the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealership, where I was informed that the transmission had failed and required complete replacement. I was required to pay for the repair out of pocket because the vehicle had approximately 62,000 miles, slightly exceeding the 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Following this incident, I became aware of numerous consumer complaints describing substantially similar failures, including unexpected and erratic shifting and sudden downshifts. These reports indicate a recurring and systemic transmission defect involving unpredictable gear engagement. Given the volume of complaints, the existence of class action litigation, and the severity of the safety risk, this condition constitutes a safety-related defect rather than a performance issue. My understanding is that in March 2025, NHTSA initiated an investigation into this matter. Ford was obligated to report this condition as a safety-related defect under 49 C.F.R. § 579, as it presents an unreasonable risk of crashes, serious injury, or death. Complaint trends demonstrate a pattern consistent with a defect. Ford should issue a recall for affected vehicles and reimburse consumers who have incurred costs to repair or replace defective transmissions to mitigate ongoing riskRead more

On 11/7/2025, your team completed the Rear Suspension Toe Link Fracture recall repair. However, on 11/13/2025, while driving, I discovered that the rear passenger-side wheel was extremely loose and nearly detached. This was due to the lug nuts not being properly tightened after your service—a severe safety hazard that could have resulted in a catastrophic accident. Because of this negligence, I
... incurred significant additional expenses and inconvenience: Emergency service from an independent mechanic over the course of a week (11/13–11/17) to secure the wheel and address damage caused by the incident. Replacement of rear knuckle assemblies, hubs, and front struts because the hubs were seized and could not be removed without replacing the knuckles. On 11/29, at a second shop where I replaced two tires, I learned that the vehicle could not be properly aligned because the toe link installed during your recall repair is not adjustable. The mechanic noted that proper alignment requires either camber bolts or an adjustable toe link. As a result, the vehicle remains severely unbalanced and unsafe to drive. Both invoices and mechanic notes confirm the dangerous condition caused by improperly secured lug nuts and the inability to align the vehicle due to the toe link issue.Read more

... low on oil, nearly empty, despite proper maintenance. This indicates a severe oil consumption defect that leads to timing failure and unpredictable engine stalls. I believe this vehicle poses an unreasonable safety risk due to this recurring stalling condition, which matches the defect described in NHTSA Recall 25V099 (SC336), though my VIN is currently excluded. The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while refueling, there was an engine run-on after the vehicle was turned off. The contact determined there was a vapor lock issue and that air was entering the fuel system. The vehicle was difficult to start. There was an abnormal clicking sound coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. Upon research, the contac
... t determined that the failure was like TSB: NTB19-049. The contact used a scanner and determined the failure was related to the fuel pump module. I leased this vehicle brand new in 2023 within a month my screen with my speedometer went black and I had called the dealership and they told me to unhook the neutral on my battery to reset the computer, it did work. ... veral times so between that and me having to unhook the neutral in the battery to reset my speedometer I was getting a little upset I took it to the dealership and they said there's no trouble codes and I said exactly because I unhooked the neutral which clears the trouble codes they had it for over a week and put 300 mi on it and told me they couldn't find anything wrong and because there was no trouble codes Kia would not do anything about it. I had it down there again for a recall told the service manager and he said just think of it this way it's like having your truck back where you didn't have all those when it goes out and laughed. I had emailed Kia corporate several times and they said I needed to take it to the dealer and the dealer said there's nothing they could do because there's no error codes but even this morning January 20th 2026 on my way to work no snow rain or anything and everything shut down again. The dealer sells manager has many text messages with the images of my dashboard and the warning lights. It just amazes me how the dealer in State college blames Kia and Kia tells me to have the dealer look at it because I've only had it there once which is absolutely not true I had it there a few times discussing it but because one was a recall and the other was an oil change they're not counting thatRead more

Vehicle experienced sudden loss of power while driving at highway speed. While driving on the interstate at highway speed in dark, snowy, high-traffic conditions, the vehicle displayed a warning about an electrical system fault and instructed me to “stop safely.” The vehicle immediately lost some propulsion and ramped down speed. We were only narrowly able to exit the highway before it would
... not move further. We were very lucky that no one hit us- it is extremely unsafe to drastically decrease speed on highway. Our family was in the car and it was very, very scary. We were able to use the heating system while parked for a few minutes before we lost all power completely. The vehicle was towed to a Hyundai dealership and is completely inoperable. The service manager stated the failure is consistent with a known ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) failure. The dealership reports having many Ioniq vehicles with similar ICCU failures awaiting backordered parts, with no estimated repair timeline.Read more

Component/System: Original equipment tires – Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season, size 255/40 R21, installed on a 2026 Volvo XC60. The affected tire is the front passenger-side tire and is currently available for inspection upon request. Description of Failure and Safety Risk: At approximately 2,500 miles, the front passenger-side tire developed a visible bulge on the sidewall. This bulge indicate
... s a structural failure of the tire (broken internal cords/belts) and creates a risk of sudden blowout while driving at normal highway speeds with my family in the vehicle, including my young child in a car seat. Because a sidewall bulge can lead to catastrophic tire failure without warning, I consider this an immediate safety hazard and stopped using the tire as soon as the defect was noticed. Pattern / Recurrence: This is my second Volvo XC60 lease equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season tires in size 255/40 R21. On my prior XC60 lease, two of these same model tires experienced severe, premature tread wear and had to be replaced at low mileage due to safety concerns. In researching this issue, I found numerous other Volvo XC60 owners reporting similar problems with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season tires, including tread chunking, premature wear, and sidewall bulges at relatively low mileage. Volvo service advisors have stated to me that this is a “known problem” with certain Pirelli tires on Volvo vehicles. Reproduction / Confirmation by Dealer or Service Center: The problem has been observed and confirmed visually by my Volvo dealer’s service department, which documented the sidewall bulge and recommended immediate replacement of the tire for safety reasons. They advised that Pirelli treats this under a prorated warranty, which would require me to pay a portion of the replacement cost, but they did not dispute that the tire is unsafe to drive on. No independent tire specialist inspection has been performed yet.Read more
