We experienced two problems with our Honda HRV, which was purchased in June 2025 (less than a year ago). The first issue is that the engine started displaying warning lights and would not turn on. serious safety-related defects in my 2023 Kia K5 involving the fuel/emissions system &other vehicle components. From early ownership & throughout the lease period, the vehicle experienced repeated& unresolved issues including fuel system abnormalities, emissions failures, fuel odors, check engine light activation, abnormal noises, &performance concerns consistent with fuel pressure or fuel tank-re
... lated problems. I reported these issues multiple times to the dealership &to Kia Consumer Affairs beginning well within the first 24 months of the lease, continuing for over a year. Despite repeated complaints and service visits, the vehicle was repeatedly returned to me- deemed safe to drive, my concerns were ignored. In June 2024, the dealership identified fuel tank expansion, confirming the same safety concerns I had been reporting. In November 2025, Kia issued Safety Recall SC356 (NHTSA Recall No. 25V794), stating that a damaged check valve can allow air to enter the fuel tank, causing expansion, contact with hot exhaust components, melting, and increased fire risk. My vehicle is included in this recall, which remains incomplete, &I was never notified while the defects were actively occurring. Prior to the recall and before the fuel tank expansion was diagnosed, I paid significant out-of-pocket costs in March and April 2024 for emissions-related repairs based on representations that the vehicle was safe to drive. This vehicle was intended as a graduation gift for a minor, & minors in my household regularly operated it. Kia’s continued assurances that the vehicle was safe, despite known and reported defects, placed my family, especially minors, at serious risk of injury or death. In addition to fuel/emissions issues, the vehicle had persistent seat defects and other unresolved problems that were never fully repaired. The manufacturer ultimately acknowledged the vehicle is irreparable. The recall confirms the safety concerns.I raised were valid and serious.in shop 600daysRead more

I am filing this complaint regarding the ongoing safety risk and lack of remedy for NHTSA Recall 24V-700, which affects my 2019 Nissan Leaf. This recall was officially initiated in September/October 2024 due to a risk of high-voltage battery fires during Level 3 (DC Fast) charging caused by lithium deposits in the battery cells. It has been approximately 16 months since Nissan issued the interim
... notification advising owners to stop using Level 3 quick charging. To date, no functional remedy has been provided. This delay has resulted in: 1. Unaddressed Fire Risk: The vehicle contains a known defect that can lead to a thermal incident. While Nissan’s interim "solution" is to avoid fast charging, the underlying hardware defect remains in the vehicle. 2. Loss of Essential Functionality: I am unable to use the advertised DC fast-charging capability of my vehicle. This severely limits the vehicle's utility for trips beyond its immediate range and forces me to rely exclusively on slower Level 1 or Level 2 charging, which is not always feasible. 3. Unreasonable Delay: Under 49 U.S.C. Chapter 301, manufacturers are required to remedy safety defects within a reasonable time. A delay of over a year for a software-based fix (which Nissan has stated is the intended remedy) is unreasonable and leaves the consumer with a diminished and potentially hazardous product. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate the cause of this extensive delay and compel Nissan to either provide an immediate repair, offer a vehicle buyback, or replace the defective battery modules, as the proposed software "patch" appears insufficient to address the physical cell degradation.Read more

To Whom It May Concern at General Motors, I am writing to express my profound concern, disappointment, and fear following a recent experience with my Cadillac Escalade that has caused me to seriously question the safety, reliability, and future of the Cadillac brand. For important context, the first Cadillac Escalade my family owned was a 2012 model that we purchased used in Ann Arbor. At the
... time, when we encountered engine issues and various quality concerns, we attributed them to the fact that the vehicle was pre-owned. We assumed wear, prior use, or history explained the problems—and we remained loyal to the brand. Because of that loyalty, we made the decision to purchase a brand-new Cadillac Escalade, bought from LaFontaine Cadillac near Dearborn, Michigan. We bought it during a time when it was hard to find an SUV especially of that size (extended cab needed for strollers and gear). This was my first-ever brand-new vehicle, a milestone purchase as a physcian that I made with the expectation that safety, engineering, and quality would reflect Cadillac’s reputation and price point. Unfortunately, we continue to experience the same quality and engineering issues, and in some cases, issues that are even more concerning. This came after a recall for engine faillure which had us concerned. Most alarming was a recent incident December 11, 2025 in which my vehicle experienced brake failure due solely to a low battery. According to Harvey Cadillac in Grand Rapids, this single issue caused multiple systems to fail, all requiring reprogramming. Learning that something as routine as a low battery could compromise braking and multiple safety-critical systems was terrifying. This was not just inconvenient—it was genuinely scary. I have a lot to live for. My children need me. No vehicle should place a driver in a position where their ability to stop safely is jeopardized by a cascading electronic failure. Beyond this incident, we have quality issues as well.Read more

I am writing to formally file a safety complaint regarding the ongoing recall of the GMC/Chevrolet 6.2-liter V8 engine and what I believe to be an inadequate and insufficient remedy being provided to vehicle owners. I purchased a brand-new 2023 GMC Sierra AT4 equipped with the 6.2-liter engine. I drive approximately 6,000 miles per year and maintain the vehicle carefully. After receiving the reca
... ll notice, I promptly took my truck to an authorized GMC dealership for inspection and repair. The only action taken was an oil change to a heavier-weight oil. I was told that everything was “fine” and that no further action was required. I find this remedy unacceptable given the severity and nature of the reported failures associated with this engine platform. Simply changing to a heavier oil does not address the underlying mechanical risks and does not provide owners with meaningful assurance that catastrophic engine failure will not occur without warning. This issue is particularly serious for me because I rely on my vehicle for my livelihood. I am an account sales executive and use this truck extensively for work travel and customer meetings. If my vehicle were to fail unexpectedly, it could cause me to miss critical business meetings, resulting in immediate financial loss and potentially long-term damage to customer relationships and sales performance. The current remedy provides no confidence that such a scenario will not occur. In addition, this recall has materially harmed the resale and trade-in value of my vehicle. Dealerships are now significantly lowballing trade-in offers because the 6.2-liter engine recall is widely known and prospective buyers are reluctant to purchase these vehicles. Buyers are also aware that any future owner will not receive the benefit of the original powertrain warranty coverage in the same way, further depressing resale value. As a result, I am effectively trapped in a nearly new vehicle that has become difficult to sell or trade dueRead more

Most vehicles with ABS experience what I call “ABS shudder/jutter” when applying brakes across a road seam where the road surface is uneven or a rut in the road. In this particular case while applying the brakes across a long rut in the road, the “ABS shudder/jutter” was much worse. NOT SPEEDING and having plenty of distance to stop. With brake pedal to the floor several times, the
... vehicle continued to move forward. The last few feet before colliding with a pickup truck, although the road was completely dry, the vehicle was driving forward yet sliding forward slowly. Felt no different than being on ice. Collision aversion system did nothing to help avoid. There is also only electronic parking brake and not an emergency brake to pull a handle on to assist in stopping. Dealership wasn’t able to find anything simply by driving around and slamming on the brakes and not finding any error codes. Regional technician currently scheduled to be here the 27th of Jan. Several people online have expressed similar concerns, just haven’t hit anything. I feel that the issue lies with the ABS system specifically braking over uneven road seams or ruts in the road and my experience is being discounted.Read more

While driving on a road trip from Charleston, South Carolina to Florida in January of 2023 the factory installed catalytic converter failed (front facing) clogging the exhaust system and damaging the engine (engine now experiences blow by and pistons rings have been damaged). A recall for the overheating of the catalytic converter was marked as repaired before I bought the car. However, I believe
... that either the update was not done to the on-board computer or that a damaged catalytic converter was not replaced. This directly led to the subsequent failure in question and has since damaged my engine. At the time of the incident, an investigation of both catalytic converters revealed heavy sediment deposits and the core of the filtering component of the front facing unit had become so corroded that a chunck of it had broken loose and become lodged in the connecting hose that linked it to the rest of the exhaust system, leaving the entire system blocked. Because I bought the car used, I wasn't aware of the recall history at the time of purchase. Nor was I given a vehicle history report or receipts for any work that had previously been done. When I pulled a vehicle history report shortly after the incident I was unable to accertain what the actual repairs to the car were previous to my ownership, just that it had been taken to a Kia dealership for service with dates listed. The issues still remain and I am unable to afford the lengthy and very expensive repairs suggested by multiple mechanics to correct them. I also still owe money on the note as the result of having to deal with a predatory business to secure financing in the first place. I hate to think I was taken advantage of but I can't help but feel like the catalytic converter should have been changed during that previously marked recall repair and clearly wasn't. My safety was totally at risk as the brake system was not working properly. Now with that being the Chevy/Cadillac dealership found that there is a problem with the ABS module. Which can not be found anywhere but a third party vendor. After paying almost $400 for the master cylinder and O ring the problem seemed to be fixed but now we have to pay ABS module. After this inspection, additional engine components (timing chain and head gasket) were identified as damaged, though these failures were not present prior to the teardown. Other users facing similar leak issues were treated the same by dealership blaming other component issue and disregarding the visible crack. This defect appears to affect multiple vehicles of the same engine, as reported by other owners nationwide. Warning signs included coolant loss, which could escalate into a larger safety risk if not addressed. I have attached few user complains but if needed I can provide lot more user complaints around the nation as it is never ending.Read more

1. Component and Availability: The panoramic sunroof shattered spontaneously. The failed component was replaced by Myrtle Beach Hyundai, but I have documented the damage with photos, and the vehicle is available for inspection to show the remaining glass debris inside the structure and the damaged headliner. 2. Safety Risk: The sunroof shattered with a loud, gunshot-like noise while driving at 60
... mph on a highway (I-95), causing extreme driver distraction and potential loss of vehicle control. Furthermore, a large amount of glass shards fell into the cabin and remains trapped inside the headliner. These hidden fragments continue to rattle, causing ongoing distraction and posing a risk of injury to occupants if they fall through the damaged interior fabric. 3. Confirmation by Dealer: Yes, the problem was confirmed by Myrtle Beach Hyundai. They replaced the sunroof under a "goodwill" gesture, although they initially claimed it was not a warranty issue. 4. Inspection by Others: The vehicle was inspected and repaired by the authorized Hyundai dealer (Myrtle Beach Hyundai). No police or insurance reports were filed as it was a spontaneous failure without a collision. 5. Warning Symptoms: There were no warning lamps, unusual noises, or any symptoms prior to the failure. The shattering occurred suddenly and without any external impact or provocation on January 12th.Read more

I have had numerous issues with fuel Injectors failing. The first incident was about 30,000 miles. This was fixed by the manufacturer not even 10,000 miles later, I once again had to return the vehicle, to be inspected by the dealership. Instead of replacing all of the fuel injectors at the same time they chose to only replace one. As soon as my car went over the 80,000 mile warranty limit, my fu
... el injectors went out once more. My mechanic son, has also changed several as well. I had to tow it, 100 miles to the Hyundai dealership, as I live in a rural area. I was told by a young lady, at the dealership, that it was be covered under the engine warranty, which is 100,000 miles. They weren’t even able to look at the car for a week charged me $250 for a diagnosis… After a week 1/2 dealership finally told me it would be over $3000 to repair.. NO! I had to pay to tow it back. I’ve been without a vehicle for five months. When the fuel injectors went out, it also damaged the high-pressure fuel rail, the high pressure fuel pump, and various sensors. This is dangerous, I live in a very rural area. It stopped operating out of the blue. It chugged/bumped a few times, and it was dead. This is inconvenient, and It’s dangerous, especially during the winter time where temperatures reach -20 regularly and no cell phone signals. I believe Hyundai is well aware, of the problem. In fact the service manager had mentioned that the parts were on backorder because apparently they are in quite high demand. No fuel injector should be going out in 15,000 or 20,000 miles, causing systemic failure. Hundai has made no effort to redesign failed parts. It’s quite disheartening, to replace/repair with a new defective part. That is going to go bad, in just a few thousand miles!! Im retired, on a fixed income. I bought new, so I wouldn’t have issues. Paying new prices, to drive junk. I’d just drop it off @ dealers, and walk away.. But the loan, is so upside down that isn’t even possible.Read more

The infotainment touchscreen in my 2018 Subaru Legacy experiences “ghost touch,” where the screen registers inputs without driver interaction and becomes unresponsive. While driving, the screen changes settings on its own and distracts the driver. As a result of the touchscreen malfunction, critical safety features including Blind Spot Warning and Lane Keeping Assistance became disabled. This
... directly impacted safe vehicle operation. The issue was diagnosed by an authorized Subaru dealership, which confirmed the head unit is defective and requires replacement. Subaru previously issued a warranty extension for this known defect. Subaru of America denied goodwill assistance despite the safety-related nature of the defect.Read more

The rear windshield shattered out of nowhere while parked outdoors on a cold day (<20 degree weather). There was no impact involved in the shattering. Upon further searching this is a problem that is common with the Acura RDX model from years 2019-2023 there was even a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on May

During highway driving, my 2023 Nissan Rogue experienced sudden loss of power and entered limp mode without warning. Engine RPM surged abnormally, forward driving and collision avoidance sensors became disabled, and the vehicle could not accelerate properly. The fuel range also dropped rapidly during this event. This created a dangerous situation in traffic (I was in the mountains in Virginia) an
... d placed me and other motorists at risk. The condition is intermittent and did not leave diagnostic codes. The vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealership, where recall repairs and ECM reprogramming were performed, but no root cause was identified and there is no assurance the problem will not recur. I am concerned this is a serious safety defect involving loss of propulsion and disabled safety systems.Read more
