I was driving on the freeway and the steering began to stiffen. I got to my destination and decided to check the tires for any ice or snow, thinking that might be why it was difficult to drive but there was no buildup. I made it home and parked the car. The next day, I can't even turn the steering and a warning comes up that says service power steering and advancetrac.

I am reporting a safety concern involving multiple loose windshield header bolts and cowl panel fasteners on my 2022 Mazda CX-9. The issue was discovered on 1/28/26 at approximately 44,000 miles. Several bolts securing the windshield header and cowl panel area were found loose. These components support parts located at the base of the windshield. Loose fasteners in this area raise concern about p
... otential windshield instability, movement of the cowl panel, and possible detachment or structural compromise over time. This condition could create a safety risk, particularly at highway speeds, including driver distraction from vibration or noise, potential windshield instability, and possible failure of components mounted near the base of the windshield. The Mazda dealer is aware of this issue. I was informed that they have repaired at least 15 similar vehicles, including those associated with a Roman Service member, indicating a possible pattern. Despite this, Mazda did not cover the repair cost. Given that multiple bolts were improperly secured and that the dealer has seen numerous similar cases, this appears to be a potential manufacturing or assembly defect affecting multiple vehicles. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue for possible investigation and recall consideration.Read more

COMPONENT: Battery and Charging System SUMMARY: 2023 Tesla Model 3 Long Range lost 15% battery capacity (345→300 miles) in 2 months at 9,816 miles. Comparison vehicle shows this is a defect, not normal wear. DESCRIPTION: Vehicle: 2023 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, VIN: [insert VIN], 9,816 miles Defect: Between September 2025 and November 2025, displayed range at 100% charge dropped from 345 miles to
... 300 miles—a 15% loss in just 2 months. Evidence This Is A Defect: I own a second 2023 Model 3 (base model) with 66,680 miles that only dropped from 272→260 miles (4.4% loss). The Long Range with 7x FEWER miles has 3x MORE degradation, indicating a battery pack defect. Service Refusal: Tesla Service ran “range analysis” but refuses to test battery capacity or check for dead cells. Only provided scripted responses about EPA vs real-world driving, which doesn’t explain why my high-mileage vehicle has healthier batteries. Safety Concern: Rapid cell degradation may indicate failing cells, thermal management defect, or fire risk. Unpredictable range loss creates stranding risk. Request: Investigate 2023 Model 3 LR battery packs for systemic defects. Require Tesla to perform cell-level diagnostics and replace defective packs. Documentation available upon request.Read more

On February 11, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., I picked up my Tesla vehicle from the Tesla Service Center located at 16955 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield, Missouri following battery repair. After paying for the service and being told the vehicle was ready, I discovered in the parking lot that the hood was not latched and was misaligned. The hood had been opened during service. Prior
... to drop-off, the hood latched properly and securely. Releasing the vehicle in this condition created a significant highway safety hazard. At highway speeds, an unlatched hood can deploy and completely obstruct forward visibility, potentially resulting in a catastrophic collision. When I immediately reported the issue to service management, responsibility was dismissed and attributed to a prior front collision history, despite the hood functioning normally before service. The service center did not promptly correct the unsafe condition. I was forced to leave the premises, purchase mechanical tools across the street, and physically resecure/realign hinge hardware myself in order to safely operate the vehicle. I have preserved video documentation of the hood condition at the time of release, along with service records and receipts. This represents unsafe post-repair vehicle release and failure of final safety verification. I have video evidence of my vehicle after I paid $1170 service fee and inspected the hood not latching. It was too big to attach but I am more than willing to put on a flash drive and send. please call me and instruct where to send it. Thank you. My check engine light came on, I took my vehicle to Ken Ganley Chevrolet because that is where I purchased it. They claim they have no record I bought it there and at first refused service. I provided my loan documents that state I purchased it. Tim was in the service department, I brought the car in and he had it looked at. He said the issue is the turbocharger, which is a known issue with this y
... ear/make/model that GM knows about. The repair was under warranty, completed and the car returned to me. Less than 2 weeks later the check engine light came on and the diagnostic gave the same error. I took it back to the dealership and I got 3 different answers. One person told me it was an exhaust issue that was causing the turbo to overheat (the car is kicking out excessive amounts of carbon monoxide), the second person told me there was no issue and they weren't sure why the check engine light went off, the third person said it seemed like the exhaust and the overheating was a safety issue and it shouldn't be driven. They ultimately refused the repair and said bring it back if it gets worse. I called GM corporate to report the dealership and ask for an actual repair. They told me to take it to another dealership to be looked at. Multiple other dealerships have refused because the case is open with the original dealership. That Ken Ganley Chevrolet dealer is refusing to acknowledge a repair is needed. The car is continuing to kick out excessive carbon monoxide and smells like burning when driving. The engine chugs and doesn't get up to full speed. I requested goodwill reimbursement for part of the car from GM for failure to service and an unsafe vehicle and they have offered no solution because other dealers won't give a second opinion. The car is not safe to drive and is not being repaired.Read more

Post initial remedy, which included oil sand cap replacement to 0-40, as directed by the manufacturer's recall documents, and passing the PicoScope test on August 26, 2025, the vehicle lost propulsion while traveling 58 mph, in the center lane of a busy, notoriously dangerous Saeford-Oyster Bay highway. At the time, the vehicle was occupied by a 2-week-old infant, the child's mother, and a dog.
... Prior to the failure, there were no indications of a pending or present issue. The vehicle's engine shut off, it shifted into neutral, and upon stopping, it shifted into a parked position, where it remains to date. Subsequent to pulling the vehicle onto the shoulder, the engine failed to restart. Approximately 6 hours later, the vehicle was towed to a GMC dealer, which subsequently confirmed that the engine is seized. The dealer submitted a report to GM to remedy the condition, pursuant to the manufacturer's recall instructions, but the manufacturer is yet to approve the remedy.Read more

They told me that they test drove my truck and had no issues with acceleration. So I went and picked it up. Just a couple days after receiving my truck back, I was at an intersection with the blinking turn signal and attempted to take off when the truck completely stalled out. I had two cars almost crash into me, but barely missed! I started the truck back and went directly home. I then told Toyota about the situation and they told me to bring it back in. It then stalled again when I was taking it to the dealership. Once I got it back to the dealership and told them what happened, they said they would look into it. After they had it the first few days I never heard anything back, so I called to see what was going on with my truck. They told me that they were waiting to hear back from corporate Toyota for further directions from TAS. My truck then sat there for a few weeks. I kept reaching out to see what was going on and all they kept telling me is that they were working on it, and that they test drove the truck, but couldn’t get it to stall. I had the Toyota app on my phone, showing the mileage, and the mileage had never moved. Letting me know that they hadn’t actually test drove it. So after all of this, they never did any work on my truck. I was now scared to drive it, and honestly didn’t want it back.Read more

Component/System: Visibility – Windshield. Was replaced in January 2026, not available for inspection. Pictures attached, doesn't include largest/spider crack on bottom of windshield that was 16" Summary of the Problem: I have experienced six separate windshield failures (cracks and chips) within the first eight months of owning my 2025 Rivian R1S. The most recent windshield was replaced by Riv
... ian, and within five days the new glass developed an 7‑inch crack from an impact. The frequency and severity of these failures are far beyond normal road‑debris damage and strongly suggest a systemic defect in the windshield glass, installation method, or vehicle structure. Detailed Description of the Incidents: • Six cracks or chips occurred on the original windshield between the delivery date of May 20, 2025 and six months of ownership. • The first and 2nd chip was repaired by Safelite, the 3rd chip unable to be fixed at same time due to location at edge of glass. • Several cracks originated without any visible impact point. • The replacement windshield, installed by Rivian Service on January 21, 2026, developed a long crack within five days of installation. • Original windshield replaced and I submitted claim through insurance. I have appointment to replace second windshield on 2/16/26. Service representative at Seattle service center stated “to be transparent with you, windshields are customer pay as they crack due to outside influence”. This is after detailing the previous five separate incidents with original windshield and that the new windshield developed a large crack within five days of install on 1/21/2026. • All cracks/chips appeared during normal driving conditions. • The pattern of failures indicates excessive fragility, potential stress cracking, or improper windshield seating/alignment. • Numerous other Rivian R1S and R1T owners have reported similar issues, suggesting a broader quality or design problem.Read more

My 2022 BMW 530e is producing a loud, high-pitched noise whenever the heating or air conditioning system is operating, or when the engine reaches higher temperatures. Upon having the vehicle inspected, I was informed that the air conditioning compressor is failing, a known and documented issue with this model. The AC compressor in this vehicle is responsible not only for cooling the cabin, but al
... so for regulating the temperature of the high-voltage battery. I was advised that immediate replacement is necessary to prevent potential battery overheating and to avoid further damage that could result from internal metal debris circulating through the system. The vehicle is available for inspection and has already been evaluated by two independent repair facilities, both of which provided repair estimates of approximately $5,000. Given the compressor’s critical role in maintaining proper battery and engine temperature, this defect presents a significant risk of further mechanical damage and raises legitimate safety concerns. Notably, there were no warning indicators prior to this issue, and although the heating and air conditioning systems continue to function, the underlying risk remains present. Because this is a known issue affecting this model and involves a component integral to both vehicle safety and battery protection, it should be addressed through a recall or manufacturer-supported repair program. The financial burden for correcting a known defect of this nature should not fall on the vehicle owner, and I am requesting that BMW assume full responsibility for the cost of repair.Read more
