I've had my 2021 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4X4 since July 2023 with zero issues until my service 4WD light came on in December 2025. It went off immediately, but I let my mechanic look at it & he couldn't find anything. It continued this way until early April 2026, the light came on but always went off right away. I was driving home from my grandsons' house (about 1.5 miles) & half way home, there was
... suddenly an awful, LOUD noise coming from under the Jeep & the steering was difficult at best. I was afraid for my life driving less than 4 blocks from my house. The next day, it started fine & the 4WD light was not on. I attempted to drive back to the grandsons'; immediately after accelerating after the stop sign by my house, the 4WD light came on & a new, louder, scarier noise came from under the car. I couldn't pull over safely (nowhere to pull over except someone's yard) & became very frightened that I would hit the people on the sidewalk, the cars in the other lane, etc. I had some helpful people stop & push my car back to my house (I'm disabled). The next morning I had it towed to Surefire (my mechanic) & after a few days, he called & reported it was the PTU, I'd have to replace it immediately. I had to pay a deposit of $600 cash & after several weeks, my Jeep was fixed. I paid the other $1454 via credit card to get the Jeep back. This is NOT safe!! I see recall 40D last week & was relieved- until I spoke with FCA today. Evidently, all other 2019-2023 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4X4 are recalled except mine. What if I'd hit the pedestrians? What if I'd crashed into the oncoming cars? I'm almost too scared to drive due to this PTU failure. It's an awful thing to experience. I have a beautiful Jeep I'm afraid to drive. This is not right.Read more

Last year I received a message, letter and perhaps an email related to my jeep and recall for the clutch plate assembly. The recall was performed twice because first was incorrect. Transmission had to be replaced a few weeks later. Since then, I've had numerous visits to dealership, and had several incidents this week traveling across country to clear "Service Transmission messages: on the displa
... y, and two incidents where the jeep went into "limp mode" at high speeds. Four more stops have not fixed the problem. Now I am at a place who has found that the transmission was not installed properly, the software wasn't properly flashed and things were left hanging (connectors and cables) without being properly secured. The transmission was replaced under warranty, which has run out, but these messages have been appearing since the original recall. Now, I am going to have to pay a large fee (over 3000 dollars) to get Jeep back. Plus paying 100 to another dealership in Kansas to have them look at the jeep without a remedy. (See:Jeep Recall 19A / NHTSA Campaign 23V116, NHTSA Recall 24V-572, NHTSA Recall 21V-028 / Jeep Recall Y01 ) - my Jeep is listed as "0 recalls" but the dealership has not reported any work on my vehicle to CarFax. The repair shop is working with me to collect evidence (Photos, documentation, and data about the Jeep's issues. ALL of this began immediately after the first recall last year, and these problems have not been remedied, and the Jeep has become dangerous when on the highway. (Limp mode multiple times: 17 Feb2026, 13 May 26, 13 May 26 all at highway speeds). This should have been covered under warranty, and I should not be subjected to "No repair" because a dealership "Doesn't see a problem" - the computer doesn't keep any codes for these incidents, thus they will not dig into the problem, and now warranty has expired so they can charge whatever they wish.Read more

Subject: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Safety Defects, Recall Failures, and Loss of Safe Vehicle Use Complaint Narrative: I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicle manufactured by FCA US LLC / Stellantis. I am filing this complaint due to ongoing safety-related defects and recall-related concerns affecting the vehicle, including repeated recalls, reduced confidence in
... vehicle safety, loss of vehicle use, and concerns regarding battery system reliability and fire risk. My vehicle has been subject to multiple recalls and/or service campaigns involving the high-voltage battery system and related charging/safety systems. These recalls and warnings have created serious concern regarding the safe operation, charging, parking, and ownership of the vehicle. Specific concerns include: Repeated recall notices affecting vehicle safety Concerns regarding high-voltage battery failure and/or fire risk Instructions or warnings affecting normal use of the vehicle, including charging limitations and parking restrictions Significant inconvenience and loss of use Time spent at dealership service departments for inspections, software updates, or attempted remedies Recent, additional recall 78C/NHTSA 25V-766 Reduced reliability and diminished confidence in the safety of the vehicle Potential diminished resale value due to ongoing recall history The repeated nature of these issues raises concerns that the remedies may not fully resolve the underlying defects. As an owner, I no longer feel confident in the long-term safety and reliability of this vehicle. I request that NHTSA continue investigating the safety and effectiveness of the recall remedies affecting Jeep 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicles and evaluate whether consumers are receiving adequate permanent repairs and protections. My 2023 Jeep Wagoneer experienced a catastrophic panoramic sunroof failure while parked and unattended. The dealership determined the damage was caused by outside influence; however, no specific impact point or evidence of an object strike has been identified to us. Because the glass shattered unexpectedly while the vehicle was stationary, we are concerned this may represent a spontaneous tempered-glass failure and a potential safety defect.Read more

Incident: Frontal collision with a boulder at 30 MPH. 1. Component/System failure & Inspection Availability The primary failure was the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS); the driver’s frontal airbag failed to deploy during a high-energy frontal impact. Additionally, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)—specifically Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW)—faile
... d to provide alerts or initiate emergency braking prior to impact. 2. Safety Risk The failure created a life-threatening risk. Striking a boulder at 30 MPH caused substantial structural damage, requiring total replacement of the front-right and rear-right suspension assemblies. Despite the severity of the impact, the airbag remained dormant. The lack of FCW/LDW intervention meant zero mitigation was provided to prevent the roadway departure or collision, rendering primary safety features non-functional. 3. Confirmation of Problem The fact that the airbags did not deploy was confirmed by independent inspection following the collision. Assessment of the vehicle damage shows that impact forces were clearly sufficient to trigger the SRS, yet the system failed to activate. While ADAS failure is a dynamic event, the total absence of system logs or alerts during the crash sequence confirms the electronic malfunction. 4. Inspections Performed The vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster and collision repair professionals. These inspections documented that the impact was severe enough to cause significant mechanical failure, yet no airbag deployment occurred. The manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep) has not yet performed a formal data download (EDR) or physical inspection. 5. Warning Lamps & Prior Symptoms No warning lamps, SRS/Airbag indicator lights, or "Service" messages appeared prior to the failure. The diagnostic interface indicated all systems were "Normal," pointing to a catastrophic "silent failure" of the sensors or the Steering Column Control Module.Read more

I was involved in an auto accident on May 18, 2026. I was hit by a person driving a Honda Accord on the side of my vehicle. The impact made all of the passenger side airbags deploy, but only the driver’s side steering wheel airbag and knee airbag deployed on the driver’s side of my vehicle. Also, the seatbelt did not lock, so I was forced into the driver’s door.

... lt when stopped, parking, or pulling out. Battery, alternator, battery cables/connections, and belt have been replaced, but issue continues and is worsening. Recently while driving, radio shut off, dash/instrument cluster began shutting down, blower motor cycled on/off repeatedly, and windshield wipers slowed while raining. Warnings included battery/charging, Auto Start/Stop, Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Park Brake, ABS, traction control, check engine, and Blind Spot Alerts Unavailable. Vehicle vibrated/ran rough, sounded like it might stall, then revved back up. Burning smell noted after failure and possible smoke near rear after shutdown. Vehicle was towed home due to safety risk. After tow, vehicle restarted but same warnings returned within minutes and radio/dash failures repeated. Concerned this is system-wide electrical, charging, power distribution, ground, or steering assist failure that could cause loss of steering assist, visibility systems, or safety systems while driving INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The engine will shut off completely while traveling a a normal rate of speed. The temperature gauge will malfunction and report high temperature (when there is none) and the engine will shut off. It cannot be restarted without putting the car in park and pressing the brake while in the midst of moving traffic. This has happened to me multiple times. At first, turning off the auto stop/start fe
... ature would prevent this form happening but turning it off no longer prevents this. This happens randomly and cannot be reproduced manually. It is also extremely dangerous and upsetting when this happens in highway traffic at speed. The Jeep also seems to have a parasitic drain on the battery and both batteries had to be replaced by the dealer. My research shows that there have been alt least 15 similar complaints filed.Read more

2013 Jeep Wrangler. ABS module internal failure code C2200. 3 lights are constantly lit on the dashboard. No ABS on this Jeep, making it unsafe in the rain and snow. No way to have this part repaired anymore, nor does the dealership offer it. Shameful and shocking that MOPAR isn't dealing with this problem. Many, many Jeep owners are dealing with this problem. When will we see a recall??
