Three (Right Front & Rear, Left Rear) of four factory-installed Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season tires (255/40R21, DOT 1XB RM582P 3923) are exhibiting tread block chunking, cracking, and physical material separation. All four tires share an identical DOT code from a single production run. Failure modes include lateral cracks across multiple tread blocks, physical loss of tread block material in mu
... ltiple locations, and one tire with a deep tread void consistent with delamination. At 36,176 miles on a 2024 vehicle, this level of structural failure represents a safety hazard. The tread separation creates risk of sudden air loss or blowout at highway speed. I am aware of other NHTSA complaints filed for this exact tire size and model describing identical failure modes. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether a safety defect exists in this production batch.Read more

I am filing this complaint to report a serious safety failure involving the service braking system and the failure of Forward Collision‑Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) on my 2021 Kia Soul. During an imminent collision event, the vehicle failed to brake as expected, and FCA/AEB did not activate, despite conditions that should have triggered emergency braking. This cre
... ated an extremely dangerous situation and placed me and other motorists at risk of serious injury or death. The vehicle is currently subject to an active recall and has now been inoperable at the dealership for approximately one month under the lemon law process. The failure involved federally regulated safety systems, not supplemental or convenience features. I reported this incident to Kia America Customer Care, but the manufacturer has declined to conduct a manufacturer‑level safety investigation unless I personally pay for removal and shipment of the ACU/Event Data Recorder (EDR). Kia America has also declined to provide any transportation assistance while the vehicle remains unsafe and inoperable and has referred the matter back to the dealership and my insurance instead. Kia America has stated in writing that they rely solely on dealerships for diagnosis and repair and that they will not investigate further unless I incur additional costs. This refusal to independently investigate a braking system failure raises serious safety concerns, particularly given the potential risk to other drivers if this defect is not addressed. Due to the prolonged loss of use of the vehicle, I am experiencing significant financial hardship and risk to my employment, as I can no longer afford a rental vehicle. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA is aware of a potential defect involving brake system failure and non‑functioning collision‑avoidance systems on this model.Read more

Rough idling. Currently unknown reason.
Incident date: Jan 19, 2026
Battery Management System completely exhausting the 12V battery resulting in the car acting as if it has no power. When this happens, you can't unlock the door or open the trunk. On two separate occasions, I have encountered a complete loss of power in my Sonata Hybrid, preventing me from unlocking the trunk or doors upon returning from extended trips. The first incident occurred after a ten-day
... absence last Fall, and the most recent was on Saturday, March 14, 2025. During the latest incident, I returned from a seven-day trip and found my vehicle parked at Orlando International Airport. Upon approaching the car, I anticipated being able to unlock the trunk, load my luggage, enter the vehicle, and drive home. However, once again, the vehicle was unresponsive. Accessing the car required removing the cap from the door handle and manually inserting the key, a process that took approximately ten minutes, which was particularly inconvenient and concerning in an airport parking lot. This situation was even more challenging considering I am a [XXX] woman of smaller stature attempting to resolve this issue alone at night. I believe this poses a serious safety concern for all owners under similar circumstances. Following the incident last Fall, I brought my Sonata Hybrid to Key Hyundai in Jacksonville. I was informed that this is a known issue for which there is a recall; however, my vehicle model year is not included in the affected range. It was suggested that I would need to manage this problem independently. I believe this recurring issue represents a known vulnerability that could potentially expose Hyundai and its dealerships to liability should an owner suffer harm while addressing this malfunction. I am writing to outline my urgent concerns regarding the 78C recall affecting the 2023–2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and 2024–2025 Wrangler 4xe SUVs. This recall was initiated due to a manufacturing defect where casting sand remains in the 2.0L engine, presenting a risk of catastrophic engine failure, sudden power loss, or fire. The potential for engine fire or unexpected power loss represents
... a significant safety risk to my family. The possibility of fire, even when the vehicle is parked and not in use, puts my home and neighboring properties in danger. This risk is especially heightened during Colorado’s wildfire season, when any vehicle fire could quickly escalate into a larger disaster. Due to the recall, I am unable to use the vehicle as intended under the terms of my lease agreement. I cannot safely operate or charge the vehicle. Furthermore, the requirement to park the vehicle outside does not eliminate the risk of fire, which continues to threaten my property and those nearby. There is currently no available repair or remedy for this defect. As a result, the vehicle is unusable for an indefinite period of time. Given the unresolved safety hazards, inability to use the vehicle, and lack of a repair solution, I formally request that you initiate a buy back of my affected vehicle. This action is necessary to ensure my family’s safety and to resolve the ongoing hardship caused by this recall.Read more

I own a 2023 Hyundai Palisade Limited that currently has confirmed active safety recalls affecting critical passenger safety systems, including the third-row side-curtain airbag recall and the second-row seat belt buckle recall. Despite contacting my dealership, I have been given inconsistent information and no clear remedy timeline, leaving me with a vehicle that I reasonably believe is unsafe to operate and significantly diminished in value. I am seeking legal review regarding potential class action participation, consumer protection claims, or compensation for owning a vehicle with unresolved safety defects. The first component to fail was the brake booster module which controls the ABS, forward collision, adaptive braking, adaptive cruise, traction control system, etc. The malfunction started when the forward collision assist activated to prevent me from hitting a deer in the road. We avoided hitting the deer but all of those lights came on immediately. We contact Friendship Chevrolet the dealer we b

They said they would have to wait for the part to arrive, advised that we could continue to drive the car even though there was a major malfunction with the critical braking systems. did not offer any type of loaner to ensure my family's safety. We had to wait for more than 30 days for them to receive the part and complete the repair still driving this unsafe vehicle because we had no other choice considering how high the MSRP & payment is on the vehicle. Once the repair was finally completed we immediately began to notice that the brakes were consistently screeching when in slow moving traffic like car rider pick up line. I reported the issue to the dealership and they gave me the answer that it was due to a more abrasive brake pad being used due to it being a passenger vehicle and it's weight. We continued to deal with the squeaking for months then we noticed a coolant leak. Dealership again said had to wait for part. After they did not contact me back I contacted GM and opened a case. When they got it in I also had them change the brakes out of my own pocket. Now the brakes squeak anytime pressure is applied and when coming to a complete stop they grind so loud you can hear and feel them digging in. GM still says nothing is wrong and brakes are a maintenance charge and are not covered for any reason. I feel the vehicle is still extremely unsafe and my family is at risk of possible crash.Read more

My 2017 Cadillac Escalade with the 6.2L V8 engine experienced AFM (Active Fuel Management) valve lifter failure. While driving on the freeway the vehicle began stuttering and shaking violently, and it felt as though I had lost control of the vehicle. The check engine light illuminated and diagnostic codes P0300 (random misfire) and P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) were found. The vehicle was confirmed b
... y a Cadillac dealership to have collapsed AFM lifters on the right side, a faulty valve lifter oil manifold (VLOM), and a broken exhaust bolt requiring extraction. The engine was also showing slightly low compression at times and making noise on cylinder 4. This is a known defect in GM's AFM system across multiple model years. The failure poses a serious safety risk as the stuttering, shaking, and sudden loss of engine power occurred unexpectedly at freeway speeds, significantly reducing my ability to safely control the vehicle. The repair has been confirmed and quoted by an authorized Cadillac dealership. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more
